RAISING THE BAR

Pray, King, what bar are you going to raise? A leopard does not CANNOT change its spots.

What levels of bars do you expect from Richard Frederick, Rufus Bosquet, Guy Joseph, Modesir, et al, apart from the bars being displayed at your rallies and meetings.

Bodaye help us, who punished us with that type of leader, are we paying for our sins in St Lucia? I know any organized political organization going into a campaign will have meetings before hand to discuss every aspect of their campaign and they would set down guidelines, stratagic and everything that should happen or not happen at the campaign. They would no allow illiterates and corrupt men to use obscenity, insult people and cause embracement to the organization. Then near the end of the campaign when the damage is already done and people are reacting negativly to these actions. The so called leader would come publicly to try to coverup. How can such an unorganized group be leading a country? The head is trying to make us believe he is on a page of love, whiles the legs and arms are on a page of distruction, no coodination there.

If you truly do not support all the maypwi and mo vay lang that took place on your platform on Sunday then why don't you come out publicly and condemn it and/or make the politicians who used it apologize! Then we would at least believe ONE thing you said. Until then its like the boy (or should I say girl) who called wolf! (moral of the story: liars are not believed even when they are speaking the truth!)
Also if Nicole David was arrested and fined for using the "Mr Chou" word in public, then why wasn't anyone arrested or fined for using it in public on your political platform on Sunday? And you call that justice? See where the double standard lie? Nicole's lawyer should be appealing that decision!

Should St. Lucians re-elect these A$$-holes, I certainly swear im a cancell my vacation in December and spend my money in the USVI. Same US$, nice sandy beaches, good food, beverages etc. I wil not give handouts at UVF for pushing my suitcases out of customs neither stop at those trashy spots on the so call highway to get a cold beverage.

Didn't anyone listen or watched "the clip that piqued" last night on Timothy's Hot Button Issues? Guy Joseph said that people called him a poodle and even said that they should put him in a dog cage, a "kernell".(pronunciation) What the....? Tell me he didn't say that! Guess he was referring to a dog Kennel. For crying out loud why don't this guy learn the English language including proper pronunciation of words and stop embarrassing us on national tv. Wonder whose worse, he or our "minister of education"
I will personally pay for both of those guys to get a 'crash course' in the English language. (no pun intended)

I personally think there shld be some sort of criteria to run for public office, especially for office of the PM. A college education shld be a mandatory factor. Not every hoodrat and skunkballs shld be up in there. Truthfuly im not even mad at them really, im mad at those ignorant and illiterate fools that follows them in the thousands; but then again i cant be mad at the followers cause they too have not even a high school education so therefore the ignorant is leading the fool and oh boy how sad and devasted that is....

King has a true, sincere deep love for his people. The UWP must win. Only King's men are capable of taking St Lucia to the future. Guy Joseph will ensure that the roads are smooth. Richard Frederick will establish Castries as the greatest capital of the Caribbean. The UWP government has already made Fair St Lucia the best island in which to do business in the Caribbean (source: World Bank), they will now continue the mission and implement VAT, which responds to WTO requirements and will reduce import duties. People, do not go back to the pain of Kenny Anthony who is anonymous on the international stage. Mayers, Bousquet, Frederick and above all King. These are fine, honorable men who can breakfast with Cameron, lunch with Sarkozy and dine with Obama. The world calibre leaders which St Lucia deserves and needs.

Should the bandits regain power im booking a ticket deliberately to to come drink some pitons and LMFAO of Lucians being a fool a second consecutive time....i have already told my mother do not give credit on gorceries to no body. let them suffer....if the UWP is that gud, why cant you afford to pay for your groceries? St. Lucia has more illiterate folks than all the caricom islands. Thanks to John George Melvin Comption...i wish that bastared could die twice....

Yes Blogger you are right. These trash cans in St. Lucia are hypocrites.

Emma was an embarassment to the Police officers when a certain Police Commisioner left his earthly domain.

SANS HONTE, she honoured that former Police Commissioner with National Insurance trappings, all aided and abetted by Kenny.

If my memory serves me right, Kenny's Trinidadian wife must have addressed that Forum in honour more than once?
Nothing wrong in Kenny and his wife's eyes of ADULTERY. Another woman sleeping with some other woman's husband. MORALS?

My Brothers and sisters of st lucia, That's a sign of desperation,
We cannot send little boys to do adult job,
I implore each one to please take a page from Tortola, As Tolians take charge and vote the present goverment out of office and bring back Dr Orlando Smith From the Opposition back into power.

I hope that lucians like myself will take charge of their country and their destiny.

Well Well Well, I am a lucian in Tortola and I witnessed the same style of campayne being done by the Virgin Islands Party that is lead by Ralph Oneal and his men where they used all sort of negative talks against their opponents. They used this strategy because they had nothing to show for their last four years in office. And we know the outclome, they lost the election misarably. King and his men must do the same because they have no other choice and nothing to show.

I am quite interested in this election because i have invested in St Lucia and the income i made in one year before the last election i could not have made a quater of it in five years. If it is my last dollar i have in the bank i will spend it to come home to vote. And i am not alone. Many other lucians will be on their way to St Lucia to X King and his wreckers out of office. Bye Bye KING pack your bag because who feels it knows and no hands down will be able to save you.

UWP supporters are accustom to hard times. I bet money that many of them are diabetics because they lack proper nutrition. They are accustom of mostly one or maybe two meals per day. So they really dont mind the hard times since they are only living in their environment. This UWP government must go.

Blogger @ 12:32 p.m. November 12, surely your comment must be a tongue-in-cheek one.

That, I daresay, goes without saying considering the persons you have described as honorable men who are fit to dine with Obama et al.

And further, is King really serious about raising the bar at this exceedingly late stage when this type of behaviour has characterised his campaign from the onset?

Very interesting to me in addition are those persons in the media who, rather than clearly and unequivocally take the candidates who have transgressed to task, continue to hide behind "all politicians" should conduct a clean campaign, they should "all discuss Issues rather than mepwiser" people - while they fail to point out who are the culprits, and dishonestly avoid admitting that the SLP for the last month has delineated policy statements on all aspects of our economic, social and political life. And to a lesser extent the NDM and even Prudent's group have done similarly.

It is time that some persons in our media get down from their perches of feigned objectivity and neutrality and be real!

It's time to stop this apologist stance of "successive governments"
and "all politicians do it" and address what is actually happening here and now.

Anonymous said...

The ship of state is difficult to turn but this is what we must do if St. Lucia is to move forward. King has completed his tenure as Prime Minister but he is still has to demonstrate something he hasn't shown yet ----- "THAT HE CAN DO THE JOB." Time to take a long and much needed leave!

Anonymous said...

Above, was that called for?

Can't we have a civil discourse minus the obsenities?

I did not learn anything, objectively from you.

Come on, surely, you can do better than that, can't you. Why don't you remove that post, that's my opinion, of course.

A minibus with about 15 people who came from attending a funeral at Choiseul, went down a precipice. A father lose his wife and 3 children. I understood they were from Dugard Micoud. I guess later tonight I will get more details of the news. All political activities are postponed in order to mourn the losses.

@#36...Good for you and your brother to have escaped. I know exactly what you meant, because I escaped as well, only to return pre-maturely thinking things had already changed, alas!!

The good thing for me I was able to educate myself (while away) and can find a job anywhere (but not St Lucia), buy properties in St Lucia and was able to save.

I am REALLY sorry for the popuplace.

I shall be returning to St Lucia just to cast a vote against this UWP administration.

@ Blogger 10:47AM....man sometimes when i tell my co-students and friends my life story growing up in St. Lucia, most of the time i never finish. i wld just break down and cry...I remember wearing plastic bags over my shcool shoes on a stormy day to prevent the clay mud from sticking to my shoes and used banana leaves as umbrellas...But the that never stop me from acheiving 5 distictions and three 1's at CXC. and when i talk on this blog and speak my freaking mind some one has the audacity to say am bing disrespectful. R u F$#%#$G kidding me? And the sad thing most of them never live in St. Lucia and go through the wave of hell i went through. get the FUC outta here....

Anonymous said...

I share you, last blogger. My stories, growing up, are not any different from yours.

At high school, for shoes, my parents were abled only to afford these chinese shoes, you know which types? Those with brown sole and black canvas of some sort for materials. Well, for the most part, it was only the canvas covering my foots, (as the soles would have gone, long ago...lol). Like you, I did well in CXC in the early 80's and took the first flight out when I was abled to after a year working, walking up and down, selling life insurance for Cadasse Noel - needless to say, I was not trained in customer service nor the art of selling life policies!!

Thanks to a first world country, where I was abled to educate myself and to make life better for myself, and then to have procceeded to follow a career path, (something I could NEVER EVER have attained in St Lucia). In St Lucia, every thing is done by political affiliation - not merits.

Thankfully, I can attest to the fact that I do not need neither one party nor the other, but for the sake of my relatives and the island in general, I am coming returning to vote the UWP OUT. My one vote, hopefully, will make a difference.

Why do we not recognize the reality that the two failed political parties represent what we have become as a people or maybe it is what we have always been as a people?

We have this nice little myth about our history and its effect saying that we are the "Helen of the West" and everyone wants us and love us. The reality is that going from French to English gave us instability, no sence of loyalty and a propensity to say what we have to to survive with no interest in the truth. We have become a moral black hole.

Voting for either of them at this point is a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea, not because the parties are intrinsically bad, but because we have voted for leaders of both parties who represent us, are us, and it is not a nice sight.

Every day in St. Lucia we face unprofessional business conduct, poor and dangerous habits on the road, indecent behaviour, vulgarity. We are a failing developing state and some of the language and excuses on St. Lucian blogs prove the point.

Anonymous said...

I cannot agree with you more, last blogger.

For example:

They are paying rental ($1.6 Million yearly)for a criminal for posh offices; paid over $80 million for an old building, a building that is now the home of stay dogs and vagrants; meanwhile, they have ignored the roads, not installing guard rails, reflectors, which resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 17 people this Thursday evening.

How sane is that? We really know how to set our priorities right, don't we?

Anonymous said...

I blame the corruption past and present governments for the unfortunate deaths of these 17 people.

The illegal tax payers millions the gave to their friends, namely:

1. Paid $80 million for an old building - a building which is now the home of stray dogs, bats, and vagrants.

2. Paying $1.6 million annually for posh office space for a convicted criminal.

3. Paying over US$3 million to some airline; because the contract was badly written in favour of the US airline.

4. Paid millions for, yes, BOXING IN ST LUCIA, excetera, ect.

The authorities could have prevented this tragedy if they had taken these monies and invest it in the wellbeing and welfare of all St Lucian.

These monies spent uselessly and to benefit a few well heeled friends could have being spent in installing:

a. proper road signs.
b. reflectors
c. guard rails
d. street lamps/lights

Anyone prove the above wrong.

6:23 am this is the kind of contribution people should be making on this board, you couldn't had said it better. All what you said is 100% true. Yet some St Lucian fail to speak or see the truth. We have a government who complains about world rescession yet they waste and scounder millions. Tucker is the representitive of Chosuel, instead of him holding King to randsom and forcing him to rent that expensive mall for his office, why couldn't he take care of the roads with that money instead? Now they have that blood on their hands.
I wander if Tucker had also held the prison chief to randsom forcing him to put him in a porch cell in his U S Jail, like he did to King?

My gut sense is that the UWP will win this elections. My brain on the other hand cannot understand how such a corrupt government that has so strayed from the principles and philosophy of Sir John Compton , could possibly be voted back into office.

I find it difficult to understand how the UWP can retain the battleground seats of Dennery North and South given the razor thin majorty that obtained in 2006. I think that if either party wins both of these seats then they win the 2011 Elections.

The factors in the UWPs favour has been the general dislike of "Kenny and tony" and the effectiveness of the Taiwanese financial interventions in the various constitutiencies. Kenny's personal and ideological intransigence towards th Taiwanese has come back to haunt him. It showed even further he is more concerned with his own personal issues than with St. Lucians.

Interestingly the more I ask St. Lucians about their opinion of the outcome on Nov 28 they are confused. One person even said that many uwps say they will vote slp and many slps say they will vote uwp!

Whichever of these 2 parties come into power we are in deeper doo doo.
Within 4 months of the UWP coming in, the electorate will realize that it was magical, fanciful thinking to beleive that PM King, once given his own mandate, will prove to be any more competent than the inept leader that he has been so far.
On the other hand Kenny and tony will fool you all for awhile but the same result will obtain after a longer period.

Anyway you look at it crapo smoke our collective pipes!

For persons who still believe that the UWP will win again this election should also know that true Power comes from God not money especially not the Taiwanese millions.

King and his cronies claim that they are using a love and honest campaign but who are they fooling? Take a visit to the Union junction where Dr. Ubaldus Raymond arranged to have the long overdue dangerous potholled road repaired only to be told that he has to stop repairs by Ministry's orders. Not to mention that Mr. King was in the area after five long years of neglecting the people of Union and Amandale who gave him support last election.

Not surprisingly, the work was ordered to stop after his visit to the area this weekend. Yes, St.Lucians this is the King people are calling nice and even immortalizing him as Springer did on DBS this weekend. Such orders by this government against the efforts of Dr.Raymond reflects high class POLITICAL BULLYING. St.Lucians, the people of Castries North please do the right thing and vote this man out of politics once and for all.

This type of political bullying by persons who should know better captures very well characters that represent Wolves in sheep's clothing! The day of reckoning is coming soon.

Anonymous said...

We the people of Union and Amandale are not fools and we simply ask that this Government stop the rhetoric of love and harmony in their campaign because this government that I once supported is void of those two qualities. Yes, Dr. Raymond was trying to assist us with repairs only to have the government's engineer stop the work right after Mr. King was informed about Dr. Raymond's presence in the area. Like the first other Blogger I call this POLITICAL BULLYING and we refuse to have this government put the people of Castries North in this kind of predicament.

Better Days are Coming.

The situation with Mr.King and Dr. Raymond is an unfortunate one. I would wish though that Mr. King had resorted to a better alternative than to bully Dr.Raymond in that manner. It is my hope that Mr.King will at least complete the repairs that Dr. Raymond started for the people at Union and Amandale, that is, before the election. And like they say persons in the area can say that Dr. Raymond passed here. Either way Mr. King should have realized that this was a win-win situation for Dr. Raymond.
