It s very clear that the UWP was hijacked by a set of scamps who are still on the scene playnig out their own personal games for their own benefit.
King, Bousquet, Fredericks are all the same peas in a pod yet those jokers are still supposedly representing the UWP and still coming out and pontificating for their own personal agendas.
Micah, don't worry about the "heat" you get from the HACKISH scumbags of both Political Parties. Your satisfaction is that you are doing your work. And you are doing a damn good job. But, you need to get the letter for the people to read. That letter from St. Catherine is the property of the taxpayers of St. Lucia. We demand to see what exactly it was that St. Catherine wrote to King. In Rick Wayne's days, when he was concerned about "bringing the truth to light" he would put his hands on that letter already, and print it in the Star for the people, but Rick doesn't care about the truth anymore. Get that letter, Micah! Now, as to your question about St. Catherine. "Why in heavens name did he release a figure on the economy knowing that that figure may very well be incorrect..." Micah, if you study the history of the St. Catherine family, you will see that they are UWP supporters. One or two support Labour, but the majority of the St. Catherines are FLAMBEAUS. So, Edwin St. Catherine thought that he was doing Prime Minister King a favour by giving him a bogus, unscientific, nice figure, and King, Joker in the Pack that he is, walked away with his usual goofy, retarded SMILE! But since St. Catherine felt guilty and could not handle his guilty conscience, he wrote to King to advise him that he was unsure of the 4.4 figure. He didn't just tell King so, he wrote to him. On that score therefore, St. Catherine needs to be excused, and not fired. He did the honourable thing, and you should not fire an honourable man. We all make mistakes, and sometimes we deserve a second chance. Look at the Director of Finance, Mr. Anthony, a man who was officially in the UWP run-offs against Jeannine in Micoud. Up to now the man is still there, and he was not victmised by the new SLP government, although he broke the Staff Laws of the Government. Give St. Catherine a break man. He did the right thing. It is Stephanie who needs to TIYAY CHOU BON CANOT LA, and let Richard Frederick lead the rest of the gang and run tings. Only Richard can save the UWP Ali-Baba Gang now, unless they change the entire team, and bring in fresh blood with clean hands. In the meantime Micah, GET US THAT LETTER garcon.
Nauseating bunch of misfits, that UWP party! Remember that their Attorney General said that politics is not for 'nice guys'? Well it all falls into place. Doesn't it? UWP is a party of scamps, by scamps and for scamps.
"As for St. Catherine, and here I pause and shake my head. Why in heavens name did he release a figure on the economy knowing that that figure may very well be incorrect with all the problems his department was encountering in collecting data from key places?"
Why shouldn't St. Catherine have released the figure that he had based on the data provided to him at that point? He had to produce a figure for growth at that point and the data given to him showed it to be as 4.4%. Since he had his major doubts about that figure he indicated that in his memo which is the correct thing to do.
However I do not see anything wrong in computing the figure because as of April 2011, the data showed a 4.4% growth.
The big question to me is whether the revised figure was computed before November 28th and whether St. Catherine informed the Ministry of Finance about that figure BEFORE the general elections.
It way, this is embarrassing for the civil service, the individual and St.Lucia, and will hurt the island reputation.
In the real world, persons within the process need to take responsibility, and own up for not performing, and presenting the numbers on schedule, regardless of issues, beyond the acts of God.
Thats why most persons withing the service need to work and may not survive in the corporate world.
When such mayor and dysfunctional happens someone would be shown the door.
Kenny is also not an economist. He is as good as he remembers, repeats, or crams what the advisors or those in the service tell hims. Like King he is taking a risk repeating what he has been told or sold.
The big difference between the two is Kenny with his degrees shows the ability to learn. King on the other hand does not have a solid foundation in learning and education. How many CXCs does he have?
don't study king and his merry men. you did not see how king belly had gotten so big. enough of tawainese money. King stayed 10 years in the wilderness and overnight has become a millionaire.
I don't understand how the relevant people did not have the necessary figures to turn in when they were due. It's not like they did not know they had to turn in those figures. I take that back, I do understand. This is St. Lucia, where we don't care about much, where we are always late, where a lack of professionalism is the norm. Sad!

Its called accountability and responsibility.
Go check what the IMF say about St Lucia's projected grow and even you will conclude that Kenny's a joker too.
