Linking Education and Employment

There is a faint link between education and employment in St. Lucia. You may be the most highly degreed person around, but if you are not politically connected, your education won't amount to much. When opportunities are acquired based on education and experience, then we stand a chance of progressing.

Blogger above you are so right. I am so saddened that our children are quickly picking up on the trend, and are now finding little motivation to excel academically since our little island does not entertain creativity and initiative especially from educated folks. Instead those educated folks are sidelined in favour of the old boys and girls network. Wish I were of the lineage of Fletcher or LaCorbiniere, Compton,Anthony and others since I know that I would not have had to work extra hard to get a job that pays a good salary.

I look forward for deliverance from ghetto life, and justice for the hardworking poor of this country.
