Hurricane Issac and the increased propensity of the world towards natural disaster (drought, wildfires, increased and more intense storms, sea level rise) are not simply freaks of nature. We have the distinct privilege of being collaborators in our own destruction. What we have neglected, destroyed or degraded we clearly have not been able to pay to fix...technology, science, human ingenuity and the Army Corps of Engineers are not equal to the task. Bravo Mr Chastanet if finally Hurricane Issac made a believer out of you."The world at large needs to revisit the consequences in store for all of us as both the economic and environmental changes take place."
