You write as if Kenny was any better in opposition. Kenny deserves all the blame that is being ascribe to him. What goes around comes around. Me, I am tired of journalist writing to make Kenny look good. We need change in the country but honesty is very important.
Micah, you lead the way by removing your won political blindfolds. All how you try, your bias still comes through in yoru commentaries. For example, how are you know so sure that the Government stimulus package will make any significant dent in the unemployment situation? Was the King administration responsible for a 20% unemployment rate in 5 years? At the end of the SLP's term in 2006, was unemployment not as high as 15%? You're an SLP sympathizer pure and simple, so don't come claiming to be balanced? Have you seen any improvement in the crime sitaution over the past 8 months? Have you written anything about that? steupes.

How about a change to remove our current myopic leadership...the one that favours position for the boys and girls (true SLP elitism)to one that embraces objective and sincere leadership in our country. I am appalled at what passes for competencies in a highly mediocre administration. I think that our current group of politicians have become blighted by greed, corruption and selfishness, and now it is all about jobs for the boys and girls. The problem here in St Lucia is that the majority of people are ignorant about what politics is about, they don't understand that the person you vote for is a public servant and is there to represent the interests of the people. They need to establish from the people what their needs are and act accordingly. They should not be self interested, they are paid from the public purse to represent all the people all of the time. The system doesn't even hint at democracy because people are not educated in the role of politicians and their responsibilities. People should challenge the manifesto's and hold the ruling party accountable if they don't deliver. It beggars belief that so much is talked about by the majority but they never give constructive critism or suggestions about what might work, or even support initiatives that are helpful. Again its the crab like mentallity operating on two brain cells, one for sex, the other for religion. Wake up St. Lucia before you implode.
Micah, contrary to you myopic view, this administration has never stated that the stimulus package is intended to "reduce unemployment" in Saint Lucia.It is not designed to do that at all. Instead it is going to facilitate only a few good friends who are now undertaking housing schemes to enrich themselves! Maybe Micah is too timid to undertake research to write the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

This stimulus package will achieve one thing for sure. It will run Customs Officer into the ground as they try to ensure the program is not abused. There are not enough Customs Officers to do a good job of this so we can be sure that more taxpayer money will go down the drain.

The massive borrowing by this Kenny Anthony and Phillip Pierre Administration is the beginning of the end for our poor St. lucia.
I do not mean this in jest or as hyperbole.
This reckless borrowing is simple a contituation of the borrowing from 1997-2006 and St. Lucia's national debt now tops $2 billion. Another $250 million was approved in Parliament in just the past few weeks. That is $15 million more in interest payments next year.
This is our end because soon there will be a massive layoff of civil servants when we can no longer borrow on the international markets.
In the US the crazy borrowing by the inept Obama Administration which has brough the national debt to over US$16 trillion will mean that even a prudent Romney Administration will still not be able to do much with the economy except for drastic cuts.
America's and Europes stock markets will soon plunge causing a new Depression because 50% o their value is caused by the printing of money by the Central banks (Bernanke in the US) that is going to the top 1% of the rich who use it to play the markets. When the printing stops in the next 18 months -all fall down.
The European Union cannot stem the fallout from the liberal goverment fraud in France, Spain, Italy, etc and soon Europe will fall into recession as Greece leaves the EURO and the potential for the EU collapsing becomes more and more of a possibility.
At this point all bets are off and only a fool will lend to Mr. Incompetent himself Kenny Anthony.
So he is lying through his teeth when he says that tourism will bounce back in 2 years or that the economy will recover.
It is all downhill from here with massive unemployment, business closures and civil strife including even riots !
