It is evident that the Kenny Anthony time in office will be recognized as one of utter failure on both the economic and social fronts.
His narcissistic focus has been only about political point scoring to the detriment of St Lucians. His political longevity, pay and power is all that has mattered. The result has been an embattled people, under siege with diminishing opportunities except for un-selfsustaining state interventions fueled by massive debt and VAT.
The SLPs behaviour as a government has contributed from 1997 to the dumbing down of our people and the creation of a vulgar state.
We can talk all we want about the possibilities of the volcanic activity at Soufriere but in the end Kenny will simply make self serving political decisions to the detriment of our people.

FACTS warns UWP of Peter Josie; “My track record is unmatched,” Josie boasts

The Flambeau Activists Called to Service (FACTS) has warned the United Workers Party (UWP) to beware of Peter Josie, a former parliamentarian, who has served in both United Workers Party and St. Lucia Labour Party governments.
Josie has a lengthy political history having served as a member of parliament from 1974 to 1982 and from 1987 to 1997, and again a few years later.
The former minister of agriculture is being described as a “failed politician” by FACTS which has called on him to “recognise and respect citizens’ constitutional right of freedom of association. Just as his was recognised and respected, and was exercised without interference, hindrance and at his will”.
In addition, FACTS, in a statement, said Josie’s track record leaves one to only expect failure from any organisation which aligns itself with him.
Josie’s “failed political track record is well known to all and sundry, and any advice that emanates from him is to move whatever organisation of which he is a member, down the path of failure, to which he is accustomed,” the statement went on to say.
“With all his failed experiences, as he is now a member of the United Workers Party, we are hoping that scant regard is paid to Mr. Josie’s advice least the irreparable damage that he may cause leaves the UWP in the political oblivion for a very lengthy period,” FACTS stated.
But speaking to St. Lucia News Online (SNO) on Monday morning, Josie said his political record in St Lucia is unmatched by any, except perhaps John Compton and George Charles.
“Nobody in St. Lucia living today has gone out of their way without pay or reward to help educate the people of St. Lucia politically,” he added.
Josie further stated, “Every time my country needed me, that is St. Lucia, I responded positively to the call and this weekend we celebrate 35 years of political independence. I was at all three rounds of constitutional talks and the record of political parties in the Caribbean, not only St. Lucia, will show that there are politicians who switch political parties as they see fit and I am no exception…”
He has declared absolute loyalty to St. Lucia.
“Nobody can question my loyalty to St. Lucia. I have loyalty first to my country, and then I support ideas. I have friends who are in politics but I support ideas and I support my country first,” Josie remarked.
FACTS, in its release, had also criticised Josie’s involvement in various political organisations. The group stated that Josie’s “bad advice” and “negative ads” had led to their downfall and the UWP’s at the last general elections.
“Ironically, Mr. Josie had been a member of the Black Power Movement, yes the Black Power Movement, the Forum and the St. Lucia Action Movement (SLAM), all failed political organisations. He then joined the St. Lucia Labour Party with deceased George Odlum. At the hands of a power struggle, Mr. Odlum left the Labour Party whilst his main advisor and long-time friend, Peter Josie, remained with the St. Lucia Labour Party. At the hands of another power struggle, he was left with no political choice than to join the United Workers Party in 1997,” FACTS said.
The group further described Josie’s political history as “one of utmost vacillation” which was not “embedded in any root cause” but instead said he was only taking advantage of opportunities which came his way.
