No matter what plan any government comes up with in reference to gas prices, the dealers always claim that they are not making sufficient profit. The way I see it, in order for them to make more profit, the gas has to be sold at a higher price, or government has to take a smaller tax cut. The second option we may never see, so I think to stop all the belly aching, government should just nationalize all the gas stations. This way they should be able to keep their $3.00 tax and sell gas to citizens a lower price than it is now. This would not make the dealers happy, as they would be out of business, but it would sure make the citizens happy, and that would certainly bring more votes to the ballot box.

Hmmm. Only a matter of time before these comments are changed and the gov't start taking licks for this. It's all good when the price of gas is at a low, but what happens then the price of gas increases. Do you honestly believe the price of gas will stay low.

That is only a system to bluff St Lucians, because gas prices is dropping on the world market and the U.S.A and by a miracle it is rising or has risen in St Lucia. They only taking advantage of the poor Lucians.

Actually I live in the US and the price of gas raised 3 cents within ths space of 1 wk and there are times it rise by 10 cents a wk fluctuate on a daily basis.

Where are you living? The part i am living in the U.S.A gas prices is dropping everyday it is now as low as $2.69 per gal. I find that strange it is only increasing in St Lucia, never decreasing as in the U.S.A.

I meant $2.39 not $2.69
