Quality parenting? These people need to be stopped from making children all together. They don't have the means or the education to raise their children properly.

If we could somehow force these people to take an interest in acquiring new knowledge throughout life they could pass the habit on to their children. That's all the quality parenting they need to learn.

Zeigi, this is so true. If people pay attention to their kids or not just make babies from some stupid mistake, St Lucia will be a better place. However, in order for that to happen, the youth need to be educated from school and at home to slowly get rid of this crazy problem St Lucians and the police now face. It is sad that people can't even walk the streets not to be interrupted by gun shots or arguments. St Lucians Please stop the crimes because you are destroying the life we have and scaring our visitors who bring money to our country.

St Lucian s operate like crabs, thinking only of themselves, there are a lot of problems on this island, one being promiscuity, men not taking responsibility for their children, not just financial but emotional too; there are many other issues but very few people have the will or education to change their behaviours. This country appears to follow the US attitudes to life if you have it you can have all, if you don't they don't care. Murders will continue as there is no real forensic system to put together the evidence in order to convict people. The family structures will soon be a system where every one will have a murderer amongst them as a family member, so no one will give evidence. The police have criminals in their families and won't want that person to be caught. Its a mine field any progress must start by educating the very young. Its a scary situation in any country never mind a small island like this, every person has a responsibility to protect and educate our young, don't leave it to the disenfranchised who do not have the skills or resources to do the job themselves.

to get rid of crime in the hot-spots in st.lucia gov need to first get rid of the ghettoes around the city and island-wide and then build apt-blocks for residence then we all will witness the reduction in crime take my comment for it.

Housing blocks eventually turn to ghettoes, poverty is the main issue here.Lack of a proper education and little or no employment is what is increasing the crime rate.Ghettoe people want money to spend and food to survive.Stop blaming the ghettoes youths, when you have politicians robbing the country blind.

This government came into office under the pretence that they would stop crime, what happen to that promise? I suppose they are criminals themselves, the likes of Tucker ........ etc.etc.

Quite pointing fingers we all need to play our role in this.Tell on them that are commiting the crimes am sure most of us no who the criminals are.

If you are a good citizen, and the government is bad there is no need to follow the government. Each person need to look at themself and blaming government and other people. Make the change on yourself first and then you can talk to people.

Stop ypur foolishness, we all St Lucians have to folow the progress of the government we ELECTED. I am proud to be a good citizen, i am not blaming the government for blaming sake. When we have 3 government ministers being ARRESTED by the police for breaking the same law they are to formulate, an ex convict in cabinet, ministers are being hauld before the courts for breaking the law, and they are lossing their case. This is our right to be concerned. The government is our business, i am not blaming anyone, me alone cannot make a change. The government is the one handling our tax money, they are the one to tackle the crime problem, in meanful way.

Mayers do not have a clue about the ministry. He cannot even manage the prison he found that was newly built. As we speak there is industrial action at the prison. In fact this government has the whole country in a mess.

Too many ghettos Mayer!!!

Get Kenny, his cabinet and Trini buddies to give the 150 million stolen so that houses can be built around the island to scatter the people living in these ghettos - trust me, that will relieve most of the anger felt by the youths.

NO ONE WANTS TO SLEEP ON FLOOR IN GALVANIZE HOUSES!!!!

well, well,so much said but the simplest of it all forgotten all we need to do is get the parents to go back in times when it took the village to raise a child and we might begin to see a difference in our society, too many of us now reject others from correcting our kids and they grow up with the knowledge that no one can correct them and that is sad, sensitive by my kids my foot that is the root of all our problems today.
