Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once.

The point is Micah that he spoke at length about what?
You seem, conveniently, not to report that he was circumventing the issue.
Was he speaking at length about the matter at hand?
Watching his tirade about almost every other topic on NTN was amusing.Perhaps if he had stopped to deal with the issue he would have been given more time.
His walk out was orchestrated,Rosie picked up her handbag to go before Kenny was finished.

I agree. Here is a guy who refuse to defend himself before the commision of inquiry, yet when givn a chance to defend himself in the house, he decides to skirt around the issue instead of addressing them directly.

In the same way that he govern in terms of putting a blindfold over our our peoples head, he tried everything possible to escape taking any personal responsiblity for the mal adminstration of his government.

Like all good coward he exited the house perhaps believing that Rochamel won't follow him.

I think its time for democracy to be defined in St Lucia. There is an obvious lack of respect for authority on this island. It was a democratic voting process to decide whether more time should be given yet still in an obvious display of lack of respect the opposition walked out on the proceedings. Is this the behavior we would like our youth to emulate. I do not care what the circumstances were but the voting process is constitutional and the opposition has no right to walk out of the proceedings. I think its time we St Lucians take a stand to stop this nonsense going on in this country. But then again a friend told me on my last vacation to St Lucia " This is St Lucia where we are HAPPY, anything goes".

He had 8 years to defend his decision to give hundreds of millions of taxpayer money to a company he called to be created. When he was asked to account he said "Take me to court". He said he would do it all over again. For these reasons I agree with the decision not to give him extra time. He did not care about acountability when he was in office; he fired 3 Senators who exercised their democratic rights to ask questions about another guarantee to Helenair. He does not care a damn about democracy.

Lots of Egg on Kenny's face. Who would have thought that things would turn around this way to hunt him. My guess is as long as he remains leader of the opposition we are in for months and months of destraction.

Kenny was a dictator in the making, absolute power corrupts.

St. Lucians will not unfortunately understand the frightening revelations that took place on Tuesday 27th October, 2009 in St. Lucia’s House of Assembly.

An individual who for 9 years subjugated his party and the nation to the most inept level of fiscal mismanagement that one has even seen, with no sense of remorse, chose to obfuscate, dodge and weave like a true snake oil salesman and refused to answer even ONE of the accusations against him with regard to the hundreds of millions he wasted.

Kenny Anthony then went on frighteningly to effectively promise a high level of vindictiveness if he should ever get back into power.

That an individual could show such a lack of remorse, such bravado in the face of stark evidence of his incompetence is nothing short of evil. Throughout Dr. Anthony’s tenure as Prime Minister we saw politics take on a mean, vindictive and dangerous streak much like you would see in some impoverished third world backwater. Yesterday we saw that it was this clearly evil man who has poisoned the political environment in our dear country.

Congratulations to Guy Joseph the member for Castries South East who so succinctly exposed Dr. Anthony’s non-answers and the former Minister of Finance’s level of smoke and mirrors.

Wow...you all UWPees can blog about Kenny for ever....on Government's time....more people were speaking about Kenny not being given extra time than Rochamel....go figure....

I think we should have another Commission of Inquiry....we need answers and Kenny is not giving any.

Anonymous said...

If Kenny wasted money....is arrogant etc....then why worry....WE WILL LOSE THE ELECTIONS!!!!

Anonymous said...

Did Kenny actually refuse to answer questions before the Commission of inquiry?

I for one thoroughly enjoyed Kenny's confidence and his effort to educate our Government. I wish he was given more time though.

Someone call Liberal wrote this on another Blog.....I doubt he will feel offended if I love it to the point where I can copy it PLEASE READ
"If Kenny is such a liability to the SLP as the UWP apologists say, then why not they call a snap election and get a fresh new mandate from the people. It is an old trick that evryone can see right through. Kenny Anthony is by the far the ‘tallest standing’ of all active politicians in Saint lucia and i do not mean in height!
While the uwp continues to hit at kenny, he is well on his way to be relected political leader of the SLP before the year ends. But right inside their own camp, the UWP can’t even call a convention. King is using delaying tactics just so he can avoid facing a leadership contest within his own party. The UWP is probably the first political party in the history of the caribbean never to have had a public political meeting this far out after an election. If ever there was a party that DESERVES to lose the next general election then it is the UWP.""

This Parliarmentary session was a UWP political meeting...each candidate was basically making sure that people not vote SLP because of Kenny....
The UWP should have a real political meeting on the Boulevard and let's see and hear you all.

No need to say to much about this. The story is written by Denys Springer and we all know the bias in his writting. Lack of understanding of the norms of house is no excuse for the King administration. Off course we have seen their actions on a number of issues where they do not understand the proper protocol. The sad thing is people are willing to accept their mediocrity. Any action condemning the inappropriate action of the government is seen as not called for.

St. Lucia needs better, if the UWP does not understand the protocols of the office the hold then they should not be there. Shape up or ship out

Well said.

They all, both UWP and SLP need to shape up or ship out!!!

comess in government and comess in opposition. St Lucia is the one that is hurting.

To the VOICE....we don't like this way of blogging, it's kinda pushing us aside.....undemocratic WE think.

SLP walked out, but uwp should RAN OUT, or FLY OUT, St Lucia could do without the uwp.

It is clear to me, that there are some who are so blinded by their love for Kenny and party, that no matter what he does or has done, the problem reverts to the UWP, and their audacity at winning the elections.

I wonder if those eloquent bloggers can even articulate the beliefs or mandate of the SLP party.

Usually, people who have very little to lose by the destruction of "fair Helen", and have contributed nothing to benefit anyone/anything, talk the most vile and hateful garbage.

Empty vessels?????

I remember when Fredrick walked out of the house soon after he won in the bi-election. I guess since we don't hold Fredrick to any high standard his does not count. I can agree with that, why state the obvious. Now Kenny et al. walk out and you cry foul, King proved he could not reword a simple resolution to turn it into a motion, and Kenny is supposed stay there to speak to speak to people who clearly did not want to hear and if you don't want to hear coupled with your lack of understanding that is a bad combination. He did address me and hundreds of others, despite the rain at the University of the Market Steps. You can have the House for your pappyshow pack we will take the market steps. I believe Kenny et al. should always walk out on these guys until the next general elections. I for one will never sit infront of a tv listening to King, Fredrick, Estaphane, or Guy. I can stand Jeanine, Spider, Ezekiel - even though the English choc-en-block, I can stand Rufus because he is the teflon don with a gift of gab - but ofcourse I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth and I am ambivalent about Mondesir - he is just a big baby. And ofcourse Marcus just getting pass the jacket is a nightmare.

I know why you all so vex, you wanted Kenny to redeem the nonsense that passes for debate on the government side of the house. Even when they are reading their speech they manage to butcher it. Sometimes when I am listening to the debate and a government member is talking I get the impression I am listening to a foreigner. They speak so badly, you wonder if they were born and bred in St. Lucia.

You feel cheated that you did not hear Alva, Musa, Dalson or Robert. Too bad, I am sorry you were forced to listen to empty rhetoric, spoken badly at that from the Government.

When you get tired of it you know what to do.
