If Stephenson King had any bit of common sense, he would have known that it is just not proper as a Prime Minister to tell the World that quote"None of us in St. Lucia is safe".

As a St. Lucian it really makes me feel helpless, for my country.

King should as Prime Minister realize that he is priviledged to have information on the national intelligence and security issues in respect of the country, and ought to couch his language to express his concern, in a manner that would bolster confidence, rather than fear, concern and anxiety. It points clearly to the fact that St. Lucia, time upon time places the most inappropriate, dishonest and inept persons in important positions in Public Office, be they elected officials or public servants.

It truly is a crying shame that a Prime Minister could have uttered such a statement to the world at large, which tells us, that he is not able to do one damn about the situation in St. Lucia, farless the Police, or any coalition of Government Agencies. King should know that it is the Prime Minister of a country, that sets the national agenda.

It's a sad state of affairs we as a nation are in. In a sense, it highlights the hidden dishonesty, though not quite hidden, on the part of Stephenson King. The absolute lack of integrity displayed, in so many instances, but on the international stage, one of the most telling, relates to the judgement of the St. Lucia High Court, with respect to the Allen Chastanet and Keith Mondesir's Tuxedo Villa Scandal.Stephenson King's action or inaction in this regard, left a very bitter taste in the mouth of the international community. And for this and other events, the country is suffering and being stiffled, if you will, from the lack of investor confidence and interest. The significantly large public sector expenditure at this time and expressed concerns, regarding the Hewanorra Airport expansion, is being viewed for what it is. I believe in short-time, the truth behind that project will surface, and expose St. Lucia's national malfeasance, in yet, the most embarassing terms. Only time will tell, but in the meantime, St. Lucia's breath of life is fast being extinguished.

We St. Lucians at have much to ponder on the way forward for the country, given the soon coming general elections. Somehow, St. Lucia should be rescued.

Well said, I believe that the critical state of affairs in the country truly warrants the establishment of a Interim Government, constituting of persons of noted integrity, honesty and appropriate skills set, that are valuable to any attempt to resuce St. Lucia.Tarnished Politicians or civil servants, and private sector officials, must be left out completely.

It is being said that three of our major destinations from which our tourists originate are considering placing travel advisories on St. lucia. What a mess.
