Voice, please give us more pictures like these, rather than more pictures showing devastated infrastructure, although they too are important.

If a picture, it's said, is worth a thousand words, I would say that these beautiful pictures of 'love in action' are worth more than a million.

I listened recently to a story on NPR radio about Rwanda. The whole country volunteers one day to take part in national collaboration -mostly infrastructure. We need disater preparation response- like the mandated fire evacuation drills in schools hospitals of developed countries. If we accept the science of green house deluge in the coming near future -then late and sustained Tomas like seasons are a precursor. In the interim we need to establish community drills (who what where).
These drills should be done during general holidays for about 1 hour- nationally. Insurance and banking sectors could offer incentives for participation.
Plans should be drawn up at the local community level with pertinent government at all levels guiding.
Evacuation routes and shelters clearly coded.
Finally, the registry or vaulting of personal papers valuables plays a powerful role in who evacuates -when?
