Kamla was right, but she got it all wrong!

Earl, I agree that there are strings attached to the aid given by most countries. There were strings attached to the money given by: Canada for the Roseau Dam; Japan for the contstruction of Fisheries Complexes, China for the construction of Feee Zones Stadium, and hospital; and Venezuela for Petrocaribe. The question that entered my mind when I heard the PM's statement is: how much more can the OECS countries do to drive the T&T's economy than they are already doing? Our supermarkets are awash with food and beverage products from T&T; hundreds of millions of our dollars are in T&T-owned banks and insurance companies; T&T oil products keep our cars on the road; T&T contractors build our social and economic infrastructure; and T&T construction products are widely used in our homes. It could be because PM Manning recognized these strong linkages that he was so sensitive to our cries for assistance. He must have known that T&T would continue to benefit anyway. There are certain things that need not be said at all; and there are certain things that may be right but said at the wrong time.

Frankly, I believe the best form of aid PM Kamla can give to us now is to refloat CLICO so our policies can be fully honored at maturity. If she should accomplish that I would be absolutely delighted!

Hope she learnt her lesson well....don't kick people when they're down, it hurts.

She make a big mistake, but at least she learns fast and has tried to fix things for herself. One should simply mark this pathetic blunder down to her inexperience. But on the other hand, many agreed with her because they too live their lives based mainly on the modern-day philosophy of UTILITARIANISM, i.e., tit for tat, quid pro quo, you give me this then I will give you that! Where have altruistic values and Christ's example of unconditional love gone to?

She is Hindu, they don't act like Christ did.

Bloggers 4 and 5 you missed my point completely. I was saying that ALL OF US, regardless of race or religion have lost the true Christ-like virtue of unconditional caring/love.

Look inside your own hearts and minds and notice clearly and honestly what you see there; and please don't make the absurd mistake of thinking that my words are defending Kamla's stupid statements. What I am saying is that ALL OF US can learn from the stupid mistakes of others; that's if we really want to improve ourselves.
