I send things to family members in Saint Lucia using the port in Veiux-Fort. Does Saint Lucia want it's residents to live in poverty? I believe they do. My sister-in-law should not have to pay for papers to get the barrel that I already bought, pay the agent, pay the broker, pay to get the barrels home. I already spent hundred of dollars to purchase the barrel, the items in the barrel, pay the US agent to transport the barrel to the US port, pay the US port to ship the barrel to Saint Lucia. I have exceeded the amount of items in the barrel just to ship the items. This is an unethical practice that taints your whole Island. I'm not shipping drugs she has been there three days dealing with customs. Checking each item on how much it costs in Saint Lucia. Now they want her to leave it for another five days to charge her storrage fees. But they won't secure the items in the barrels. These are things to help their way of life. Custom officers take the things I already bought and resell it to her. IT IS NOT RIGHT!!! Stop your greed!!! She has five kids to take care of and Saint Lucia's LACK OF EMPLOYMENT is adding to this dilema. I have three kids struggle just like her. I tell you...We are children of God and his words shall not go out voided. There was a recent hurricane. Can't I send items that she needs without customs thinking everything is for sale or for herself??? How much can I charge for it...Saint Lucia Greed will permit me to discourage my friends and family from being tourist. Greed will get you no where. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT'S TARNISHING THE COUNTRY.
