dare we talk about the shooting of Malala when we have ignored females on our own soil and of our own kind who have been victimized because of standing up for the truth?

Malala have been shot but what of our females who have suffered for not conforming to the rules of those in charge? Their families have suffered and their lives have been damaged because they refused to bow down to the falsehoods and crookedness of political pundits and bosses.

Where are the females who dared speak up against corruption in our government services? Where are the female journalists who dared go where no one else dared to go? Who speaks of them? Who got fired from their jobs because of compromising editors and crooked newspaper owners?

Speak of them. Malala is a world away. her people fight for her. Who fights for the rights of the St Lucian female who dares expose those who persist in corruption?

We are such hypocrites!
