Micah, please answer the question you posed in the opening sentence of your article. I do not want to think you intended to trivialize King's call for an investigation and for us to be given the truth, nothing but the truth. Your piece suggests that you are trivializing the issue which, of course, would be irresponsible and a complete disservice to your readers. We expect a level of impartiality from the Voice Newspaper.

St. Lucia, Dominica and two others were in the same predicament as pertain to the United Nations financial contributions. Dominica has since settled their default. What is the big deal with an investigation when it is costly?. The money to be spent on an investigation can be used to settle the debt. Is King trying to decapitate this country financially?

Seems to me King's question was also trying to persuade the Prime Minster to state the truth and pay our debt. Whoever it was ...made a mistake of not paying on time and was politicking. We don't want to tolerate this type of mistake at all.

Agree that an investigation will be a financial burden on the country. But the untruth that goes with the issue is what bothers me. Did you hear Menissa the other day talking to Timothy? Hers is the waste of money that the country can ill-afford at this time.

There seems to be more than meets the eye. Mr. King is a former Prime Minister and knows what he is talking about.

Furthermore he also still has lots of very good and reliable sources whispering in his ears from the Public Service happenings. At all levels of the Service.

My understanding is that Kenny Anthony in his many discourses demonstrates in many different ways that he has very little regard for these International Institutions and sought to reduce the appropriations for the UN.

And instead used those reductions to fund the settling down etc expenditures of his friends which has been placed at the Mission in New-York. This is what I was told.

What? We can no longer vote for Taiwan in exchange for checks to millionaire-politician King, who is now singing for his supper, or to allow Japan to kill whales or continue its long-line fishing? How sad?

Why are we paying that money anyway? What is the benifit t SLU have voting rights? Seems like a waste of resources. Are there contries that are not members and how are these contries doing?

I read somewhere the ambassador's salary package includes an item for "allowance for partner". This leaves many questions that need to be answered by an official in the ministry of finance. Also, if it is true that the prime minister had reduced the appropriation for the UN and used the money for the settling of friends it means that he made a grave error. Of course, time and time again, he showed a real inclination to making error in his judgment.

We have to pay dues because we are a member of the United Nations. We benefit because we are, by so doing, influencing decisions in a world forum. Our present problem is the fact that we are being represented there by a lady with a pretty face but cacacalbas for her brains.

With all the hoola with king why didn;t he put out a paper with information stating, During his leadership this was what was paid to the united nations, He has to take responsibilty for his leadership reign for leaving fair helen in a quagmire. and stop going around believing he can do better. Lets not forget he was a total failure

King has presented himself as a far better prime minister than Kenny. He has showed considerably more concerns for the people's welfare in this hard economic times. Unlike Kenny he shows a lot more honesty, believability and is guided by conscience. We too must use our conscience and give credit to him for guiding St. Lucia so well during his tenure.

Blogger at 3:51, very funny!

My opinion is that these statements and responses etc from the politicians are a diversion from the real issues facing this country. They go back and forth blaming each other for everything. Not one can give us logical solutions to the problems we are currently facing. The truth is they are all responsible for getting us into the mess we are currently in.

When Kenny was in Opposition, he had all the answers, now he is in power, these answers are not proving to be useful and he is hiring consultants to give him answers we thought he already had.

When King was in power, there was not a squeak from him, even when the people needed to hear their leader speak on issues of national concern. Now he is in Opposition, he has all the answers he didn't have when he was in charge. They all suck!!

When it comes to collecting money King and Mr. Tucker know how to stretch an open palm. These beggars have become multimillionaires on just ministerial salaries. They only had to shoot shate to get all that money.
