I am happy beyond description to see a second super supermarket in Saint Lucia. And I don't give a hoot about the nationality of the new kids on the supermarket block.
I am very impressed with gl Supermarkets and their prices.
To named, but three, products I used to purchased at Super J:
A hair product for over $17. A cartoned juice for over $19.; and, Oscar Meyers precooked products; all ranging from $15.00 to $17.00
Could not believe the prices of these same products at gl supermakets - they were so much cheaper at the new supermaket.
A few days later I went back to Super J, only to see that those products were a few cents cheaper than gl's prices.
I concluded that super j could have afforded to sell these same products at the same low prices as gl, and i bet they were making a huge profits even after cutting their prices to compete with gl. My question: why didnt super j, before the introduction of the new supermaket, sell these items, and others, at prices people could have afforded?
Bye bye super J. I am looking after my pennies...nationality my butt!! they didnt think of nationality before the introduction of the new supermaket...
Now because the man was able to raise prices to the roof and make huge profits, idiotic St. Lucians looked upon this injustice and applauded the fact that the man is a successful businessman. Yes idiots. He was successful in pauperizing you and exploiting you.
Strange but true. Some of these very idiots who are applauding are also arguing that this (rapacious and greedy exploitation) is very good reason why St. Lucians should make Chastenet PM. He can run things.
Yes moomoos. He can run things for his own good and for your own harm and detriment. Against your interests.
Again, these same idiots are saying that because he provides employment for St. Lucians with his exploitative pricey supermarkets, he should be rewarded by placing him in parliament.
Yes moomoos. Give more power and more authority. Then the fox becomes the guardian of the hen house? Right?
Then some argue that he has been bringing the highest tourist arrival rates to St. Lucia. Yes. But aren't most of these going to the all-inclusives (almost all-exclusive of St. Lucian supply businesses?) like to his friend's Sandals hotels?
What is St. Lucia paying to the airlines for these nice figures? And wouldn't Jet Blue have provided the airlift anyway because they are benefiting from the destination relationship with St. Lucia?
Then that man appears to have a very convenient memory tto. He said that he was NOT there when he and other cabinet colleagues engineered a mechanism to leech money away from the treasury into the pockets of a cabinet member under the guise of a tourism incentive. Lo and behold, he forgot about the recordings of cabinet meetings. The record showed that he was present. Such an important meeting and he forgets. Is this like other money scandals that have yet to go public?
That man does not share the experiences of the majority 90 plus percent of St. Lucians who do not look like him. He has never walked a mile in their shoes. He had pain en panniere' at his breakfast table, while others sometimes never were even able to afford bread in sufficient quantities either for their themselves or their families.
Such a man should remain with what he has accumulated in his supermarkets and elsewhere. Thank God, it appears we are having this scourge and monkey removed from our shoulders. Another supermarket is here.
We need competition in this area of business and in our politics too. Another party like this new supermarket is here.
Like the better prices we have seen, we can get better and more decent politics from having greater competition brought to the two existing political parties. Thank God, there is some competition with the new LPM.

Super-J behaved that way because it was a monopoly, answerable to no one. Now atl least ehy ahve to compete with GL on price AND quality.
same products in all shops, same idiots everywhere
