Anything to enhance our young peoples good values and advancement, is encouraged. Three Cheers to those wonderful St. Lucian folks. Thank God for a little good news.
I like the idea of our girls being put in a positive light, as long they look like the typical St. Lucian woman with afrocentric features who make up like 70% of the population. It's not fair to darker St. Lucian beauties to see Eurocentric types like Aiasha Gustave, put above our chocklate beauties, and given all the accolades. This is damaging to the self-esteem of little black girls. It sends a negative message that black is not beautiful, and only white, or white-like is beautiful. The judges of the Miss St. Lucia World contest got it wrong, let's see if the BPQ modeling agency gets it right.
