This UWP party or 'thing' must be blight.
Well, why not, after they killed John Compton.
We are in a new dispensation of politics in SLU. This situation is the final death of the UWP.
I commend you on you courage to proceed. Let us start the peoples revolution to regain our country and move our country forward.
We need to ensure that all the seller of our birth righs, and unwelcome characters of this governmentloose there seats asap. I look forward to laying the facts on the table for the SLU public to read for themselves.
I look forward to standing with you on the way forward. Stay safe, look up, look to the east, wisdom and guidance comes from this location.

The XFiles will be released shortly! And the tapes too. lady Compton has finally decided to release them. At this very moment, they are being reviewed extensively. And St. Lucia will finally know the truth. there's a School of thought that the Flambeaus always regarded Janine as a "Trojan Horse" in the midst. They knew they were guilty and the day of reckoning is round the corner. Already, tucker is pretending to limp. But we will get the true picture soon.
The support of the Police Commissioner will be required. The passports of some Ministers should be confiscated.
The UWP administration will self-destruct before election time. I think Mrs Compton has done the best thing by removing herself from this incompetent and corrupt administration.
If Jeannine is seating in the house as an independent, she is seating where I think every member of parliament should be seating. I do however think that to do so she needs to get the mandate of her constituents and that can only truely be done by resigning from the parliament, having a bi-election called and contesting it as an independent. Her move is a betrayal of the will of her constituents and contrary to affirmations of association that she has made in the past. Of course she has all the right to change her position if she wants to. It must be rightly done though. All this said, Jeanine is one member of parliament who has commanded my admiration and respect. She has always come across to me as an independent.
This is undoubtedly the begining of the for the UWP regime. Jannine found association with the current UWP administration totally unpalitable,she has felt for sometime that the incumbants have brought her fathers party into disrepute. She has been uncomfortable being under same umbrella as Fredricks, Bruce Tucker and Mondesir. PM King ignored her concerns and left her with no choice but to go. In the case of the PM she was paricularly disgusted when the PM allowed that Hatian singer humilate the office of PM an act she said her father or Kenny would never succumb to.
Overall she thought government had not performed in the best interest of St lucians. Moreover she thought PM King and his bunch of under achievers had destroyed her fathers legacy and she was ashamed.
Look out for some further relevations as to why she could not afford to be associated with Kings opportunistic bunch.

Janine if when you said you were wrapped in a 'yellow blanket" I admired you though I was wrapped in a red one. I applaud you for letting your moral compass guide you. Many of your father's loyal supporters will reject you. As a woman I stood by you regarless of your political affiliation. I want you to know that "there are many more who stand with you than they that stand with them" Your father if he was alive would say"that's my girl". You took enough. Let God continue to guide you and do what in your heart that you believe is "right".

Notwithstanding the so-called claim that the dissident eight in the JOHN COMPTON killed him, which by the way is the biggest lie, ever to be told in St. Lucia, the very widow and her daughter Jeannine, were seen at the Mon-Repos campaign platform, hugging and dancing with Hon. Richard Frederick and Hon. Rufus Bousquet. Do you folks forget so easily.
More than that even in recent weeks, Jeannine called on St. Lucians to rally behind the Stephenson King and UWP Party.
Wht's going on with your minds. What's wrong with you folks.
Her mother Mrs. Janice Compton claimed she has certain files etc. so long ago, but she did not consider it the proper thing as a matter of decency and respect to the St. Lucian people to let it be known. After so long, Why Now? What did they not get from Stephenson King? Are they really about the well-being, welfare and love of the ordinary St. Lucian? I say, no way Jose!
John Compton's death, and its strange mystical connotations is very well known in St. Lucia. Having his own wife saying that every year for ten straight years in a row, the man had an annual test at the best hospital in New-York, yet, all of a sudden, sickness? took the man, and in few days, all his internal organs were decimated? No doctor identified anything was going wrong before?And just before the 2006 General Elections the man was looking as young as one can find them for his 80 plus years?
Where was he getting that YOUTH from? Who was giving it to him. Everyone saw that so-called YOUTH in the man the very day at Reduit, in the electoral place, that DISCO place where they casted the votes. Then in a flash the man was dying? And a bogus claim by the idiots and liars in the PRESS that the Cabinet killed him. So, if that was the case why were his family hiding his so-called illness for three weeks, until St. Luciand got to know that the man was in a mess in a New-York Hospital. Then all kinds of foggy stories were being given by Stephenson King et al. Remember Spider Montoute was not allowed to see the man at the Tapion Hospital. Not even George Mallet was allowed to see the man's face in the coffin? GOD is not mocked. Don't play with GOD's Prophets. Touch not thy anointed.
For that matter, all those who deal with the powers of darkness, will meet their demise through GOD's power without any notice. In other words, they don't have a clue when they will be DAY-GAR-JAYED. So all you workers of darkness and evil, and iniquity, TAKE HEED!
Another set of elections coming. Don't go to the DEVIL like many of you run to, GO TO THE LORD IN PRAYER. For your childrens sake.

She needs to be more courageous in denoucing these woodlums in the things they were invovle in for the good of all st lucians.
THere should be no surprise that king and his missleaders were not able to govern but are looking for their selfish interest.

St. Lucians have failed over the past 15 years to understand the battle that they are facing.
Aside from the tenure of Sir John George Melvin Compton and perhaps one other person who has graced the political landscape, we have been given the political choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Neither the United Workers Party nor the St. Lucia Labour Party is populated in its leadership with personalities capable of leading St. Lucia anywhere. Neither for that fact the nascent LPM or ONE. We know the travails and proclivities of this present government and also know the utter failures of the SLP during its 9 years at the helm between 1997-2006.
None of these parties have even hinted at policies or a philosophical approach that can move St. Lucia forward except for borrowing $100 million annually and increasing the national debt to put into the sinkhole we call government in this small island state.
Additionally the local press and reporters have become nothing more than “roro” reporting entities, without the objective fact finding mission required from the fourth estate and when it comes to foundational philosophy are merely ossified liberal/progressives incapable of helping our people through the maze of 21st century life. I have only read two articles in the past few years from St. Lucian newspapers that in any way touch on our problems and possible answers and both were written by St. Lucian businessmen, who had spent some time abroad in their respective professions.
Our academic and educated class are no better, arrogantly satisfied to spout opinions (not facts) from their ivory towers but stunted in their growth of ideas or actions.
Politics for our leaders (both civil and political), the press and our academic/educated elites has become merely personality driven drivel without an ounce of objective policy analysis or ideas for governance.
As we look at Ms. Compton Antoine’s resignation from the United Workers Party (which her father founded) we have to look without yellow or red tinted glasses at the FACTS, and not what we want to see.
Ms. Compton Antoine appears to be a nice person and I (even though it is not logical) will give her some kudos because she is the daughter of John Compton. Aside from that she has not shown that she is a significant factor for the people of St. Lucia either in her own life or her work in Parliament. Judgment on her has been confined in St. Lucia to remarks about being Sir John’s daughter and her linkage to the UWP or about her comments/actions which appear to some as being against the UWP, of which she was a member.
Ms. Compton Antoine leaving the UWP can be seen in many ways and raises a number of POLITICAL questions and does in fact alter the landscape of a destructive and damaging personality driven political scene? Is her mother behind the resignation? Is she colluding with Dr. Anthony? Is there a fourth political party in the works? Why did she not also resign as the MP –because of the loss of salary? Was she annoyed with not being taken seriously by the SLP or being given a Ministry? Why did PM King not cut this problem off at the pass by giving her a position?
Interesting political questions but absolutely irrelevant to the forward movement of our people except in how it affects the political landscape. Mrs. Compton Antoine is merely a political footnote or distraction, and nothing else. But what does this matter when the political choices are between the devil and the deep blue sea? We will move forward to an elections - probable at the end of the year or even early next year. The outcome will be irrelevant except to show St. Lucians that the choice was no choice at all and they better start looking inward to find the courage, work ethic and morality to decide what they need to do to get out of the morass and quicksand that constitutes their development.
Good for you Jeanine. Don't worry about Timothy Poleon et al. You probably can tell us how much the UWP is paying Tim, that is if you were part of the Public Relations Committee headed by MR World and his accolyte TP

3) good for you Jeannene. Why ? What will come of her action? Replacement of UWP with the SLP? Where will that get us ?
I suggest you head off to set up shop in Haiti because that is what St. Lucia is slowly becoming with contribution like yours.

At the end of the avalanche of pure drivel, you had nowhere to go but to commit suicide. Capital joker! Led astray by narcissism. How does any of what was said help the situation.
That professional critic had nothing to say, but felt he had to say something! All four existing parties were not of any good. What do St. Lucians do in the meantime, idiot?

I agreed Tim and Rick are doing more pr for uwp than the "stress secretary" and those who deny it and defend it give "bring your non evidence" and you can "toof" while you try to prove me wrong
Question is: which party will benefit from this exit? Is it the Ali Baba Marauders, or the status quo SLP? Or is it the struggling LPM under an avalanche of undermining activity by almost all the media houses? We know that the Star is openly hostile towards them. Therefore we know who is saying one thing but patently doing the opposite.
Of course, only the uneducated in the country can fail to see the total lack of one shred of integrity left by this patent incongruity.
Will the lady sit with the SLP eventually or vote for them, or vote independent most of the time?
If she joins the LPM, she can become their leader, by being the one in parliament. She can become the deputy leader and still make it. She can become next PM if she can take her father's supporters with her.
Even now, the ball is in her court.

Wow - as a family member I feel a need to comment on this - as one anonymous writer has said a few things I'd like to clarify -
Sir John had cancer - pancreatic to be exact, which then spread to his liver. Those who are familiar with pancreatic cancer will know that is a ruthless and fast spreading cancer. Between campaigning and writing the FIVE year budget he missed his yearly doctor's checkup, and hence with that the cancer was diagnosed late. It was not until he suffered a stroke (due to the cancer being in his liver) was when the cancer was discovered.
Spider was not barred from seeing Sir John - THAT IS A LIE. Sir John lay at home for SIX months - getting physio-therapy at his home in Gros-Islet and Leonard Spider Montoute - who lives 5 minutes away - who is qualified in sports medicene and knows alot about physio-therapy - NEVER came to visit - not once, not ever.
In regards to his body being seen in a coffin - it was his decision for his body not to be made a spectacle for Lucians to ogle at.Ultimately it his his body and his choice not to have it paraded around like its a show.
At the end of the day,writer, why is all of this relevant to Jeannine's resignation?
The term 'Political Correctness' was created for a reason. Being within a party one is forced to show support of their fellow party members for public face. I do not agree with this, but who am I to judge? I am not under the harsh scrutiny of the public eye. Yet it became enough. Better to stand alone for what's right than to stand in a group that is against your morals.
Tell me please - how many Lucians are really brave enough to stand on their own for whats right? Very few - all we know is to quarrel in rumshops and on radio shows.
Was Rick Wayne at this press conference , has he read Jennaine letter, think not otherwise the Stars response would have been more balanced and measured. Instead of pro administration rant attempting to devalue her actions.
Rick reminds me of a closet homosexual who has been outed. Yes we now no what Rick is an apologist for what's wrong with this government, he is shameful, lost all respect for him. Some of his cronies at a certain eating house must also take note your credibility is also being questioned - birds of a feather- mem bet mem pwel!
I have lost all credibility for Clem Bobb, the PM,Rick and Timothy (the acolyte) in relation to how they treated this letter, and how they continue to down play this development, which to my mind is huge.
It's enlighting that Jeannine laid out the sequense of events, dates and time....This caught the liers off guard. As a result they are tongue tied with bibs at the nossel.
The manner in whick Rick choose to spin the letter in his paper, not knowing that the voice would publish it in its entitiy for all to see...that's the information age Rick, PM and company!! take that.
What a shame, they were all caught, toothless, mouth wide open.
