Saint Lucia Jazz – Worst Enemy or Saviour?

St Lucia DOES HAVE special events companies who are quite capable of managing The St Lucia Jazz Festival - I hope Mr Chastanet is aware of that. These companies come complete with lighting, sound, cover, stage management resources and other props necessary for entertainment purposes.

I sincerely hope Mr Chastanet is aware of that.

Too often we have seen government ministers and/or their ministries wasting monies on IMPORTING skills which are readily available on the island.

Watch it Mr Chastanet!!

The minister has the right idea because he knows very well that the word "Jazz" does not legitimately apply to our present Jazz Festival. Maybe only 10-20% of the music performed could now be classified as jazz - most fall under the general description of 'pop music'.

Possibly, the new and longer festival should be called only a 'Music Festival' and have it divided into several different categories of music styles.
