Oh the lengths some people will go as they seek for a job. I pity you Mr. Bousquet, and I do hope you get the position that you seek after because your article has fueled more problems for the Labour party and makes Dr. Raymond more popular and credible.

Dr. Raymond we supporters of SLP love you never mind the foolishness being spewed from the likes of Earl and others. You have showed courage when noone-else could with Kenny. Yes, I am a supporter of the Labour party but I refuse to just sit there and watch Kenny go down that same slippery road again...this time handing over one of our best brains to another government.

I too including my family have decided that we will not vote until we see better in our party(SLP government)especially a better leader (not sure who yet but I am leaning towards Emma). Kenny's approach has always been to destroy those who question or criticize him. He has started this time with his political Hitman, Earl. This man needs to take care of himself especially his person hygiene instead of a party that does not want him anymore. I have no problem with Dr. Raymond taking a job that is befitting of his education, training, and experience. It's a sad commentary when foreigners see the caliber of our own and seek to utilize them for their country's own developmental needs and we in our stupid "fight down" mentality try to keep them in "their place". Or to keep them in subservience to the MAXIMUM LEADER.
Earl is suggesting that such an intellect should play coy and humble for what the MAXIMUM LEADER has done for him. What bull? If you ask me this guy should have beengiven the command of the economy as Min. of Finance and Economic Development if we were serious about utilizing our best brains and human resources in the areas that they could best deliver especially in this depressing economic climate. The MAXIMUM LEADER prefers to kick the can down the road acting as an economist without the slightest understanding of macro economic principles. We all know how that worked for us with King being placed at the pinnacle of our economic development.

Earl has sought to put a poison pill in the works by suggesting that the good doctor will encounter a tusanmi of trouble in the TCI. If that is not sour grapes (maybe not because he was not and will never be in the running for such a prestigious offer) or "bad mind" I don't know what is.

All qualified and educated St. Lucians abroad who are thinking of returning home to make a contribution to this country, take heed. I am not saying you should not return home, but be sure you know what you are getting into. As is the custom in St. Lucia, other countries recognize our talents before our own people. Talk about brain drain!
It makes no sense to return home now.
Especially with an Administration with a petty and incompetent dictator anything you do is predicated on some type of "you pat my back , i pat yours".

Everyone can see what happen there. Labour pretended to take the high road and "praise" Raymond, but behind the scences they set their attack dogs on him. They is Labour for you.
It appears that my party indeed used Dr.Raymond and his qualification/experience in Economics. It's becoming more and more evident to me that Kenny has not changed his ways. My government seems to believe that their clanish group of Fletcher, LaCorbenierre, Kenny and others deserve to survive big at the expense of poor SLP supporters and others.
What did Ubaldus Raymond do to Kenny and his clan to deserve such poor treatment? Is it because he was able to challenge Kenny while the others simply couldn't? Is it because Kenny felt that Fletcher deserves the ministry of Energy, Technology etc over Dr. Raymond who has experience in the field while Fletcher doesn't since his expertise is in horticulture? Could it be that Kenny was afraid of Dr. Raymond's competence in Cabinet? Could it be that this is simply pure evil and selfishness at work among Kenny and his clan?
There are still too many unanswered questions that Kenny and Ubaldus need to answer. One thing I am aware of since I have worked with the man is that he is a competent worker, and one who loves a challenge especially in Economics.
Fletcher's expertize is in the field of horticulture. Yet (as a Castries boy, a St. Mary's College boy, a loudmouthed braggart and a friend of Kenny) he is made out to be a piece of cheese! He probably is the one misleading Kenny on the Ubaldus issue.
Earl is really fighting hard and dirty for that Cuban Job. He sees Cuba as presenting many advantages for him: free food, free medical care, free left-to-right chinese meat and a hefty pension. He cannot study for a degree because his brain cannot absorb anymore. I cannot forgive Kenny for thrusting Earl and all his baggage on us.
Blogger at 1:06pm you could very well be true since it is common knowledge now that the real PM is Fletcher. I think it is high time that Fletcher take the high road to nowhere since he has not been able to do anything substantial with his huge portfolio, which Dr. Raymond was more qualified for.
I wouldn't be surprise to find out that Kenny is allowing Fletcher to dictate to him about Ubaldus Raymond.
Dr. Raymond's move does not give me just like other students studying in the US or overseas for that matter the desire to return home to contribute. That is blatant fight-down. Kenny, it is time for you to go. You are a very big disappointment. But before you leave, send Fletcher Lacombiniere away. Please, Please, Please.

"Jimmy the Cricket" Fletcher as we have known all along is your typical liberal academic who thinks he has all the answers to our problems even though for the 50 years since our Caribbean countries have gained Independence we have only gone backwards.
The Kenny Anthony/Phillip Pierre Administration borrowed over $1 billion and has only white elephants or nothing to show for it.
Where was Fletcher while our educational system was declining with children bringing weapons to school and having sex in the classroom? Does "Jimmy the cricket" not know anything about that ?
Where was "Jimmy the Cricket" when over 300 people were murdered during the first two Kenny Anthony/ Phillip Pierre Administrations ?
Our GDP growth is at least 3 -4% annually lower than what it should be because of the indecipline in St. Lucia brough on by no focus in our policies and legislation.
all the Fletchers, LaCorbinierres and the other failed technocrats know is how to advance their careers in the liberal bubble/progressive that is politics ans academics in the Caribbean.
Failure follows them everywhere - from jobs in Caricom, to political jobs.
Once you have lived and studied in the USA, don't bother to return home to St Lucia. There is nothing there for you because already those down there think of you as an outsider.
In a nutshell you are never going to be accepted by status quo.
Earl bousquet is the personification of the SLP leadership mindset from Kenny to , Phillip to Leo to all the rest.

The SLP was almost kicked out in 2001 but only stayed in power because of the internal fighting of the UWP and allies. They were kicked out in 2006. They only came back in 2011 because of the crass notoriety and vulgarity of Stephenson King , Fredericks, et al.
We never did want them but it has been between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Throughout the prelude to 2006 the SLP hung their heads in shame everytime Earl spoke or wrote.
Ditto 2011 when they had to hide him under a rock.
