Their actions are justified. My view is that the judicial system have callapsed in St.lucia a long time ago. Justice delayed is justice denied and that has been going on for over a decade now. The lawyers did nothing because it did not affect them directly at the time. They never cared about the ctizens who were getting the short end of the stick, but now it hits home and they are protesting in the streets. I am also sick and tired of the excuses " the protest have nothing to do with politics" Why do they always have to say that? Is it because they want to be seen to be nuetral. We fear taking positions for fear of our actions being interpreted as political. Is it not a fact that the current situation has arisen because of a lack of political action to deal with it? To deal with this situation does it not require action from the political directorate of the government? I don't give a damn whether their action is viewed as political or not once you can justify your reasons for protest. If we are so quick to run from anything people perceive to be political why dont we just abolish politics. Can we? We continue to make politics the problem when it is our attitudes and indifferent thinking is the problem. We keep running away from doing what is right for fear of being labelled red or yellow. What a shame and pure carwardice

There are too many lawyers per capita in St.Lucia.......hence, I'll see you in court.

Who are you to say how many lawyers that should be in St Lucia?

How can a country function in this way? How can we have 3 major Registries that are so vital to the development of our coutry being closed so often and for so long? When will we have a lasting solution to the perennial problems with teh Registry building? When will our Governments realize that the best long-term solution ot this problem is to build a brand new building housing all registries, and using state-of-the art, computerized systems? The best place for such a facility is is the Sans Soucis area. Lands will have to be acquired for this purpose and some houses will have to be moved. But if the planning starts now, such a building could be ready in 3 years.

They need a new court house that all the court sessions around castries should be held at. Instead of renting places to hold court that don't look nothing like a court house. Its the 21st century for Gods sake.

So many liars in St Lucia? No wonder the country upside down. LOL

We are in such a situation because we refuse to do the right thing and hold our elected officials accountable. We are set of carwards who are afraid of being labelled yellow, red or political. Our selfish attitudes and greed is what has brought us to this stage. We love to wait for some messiah to do for us what we can do for ourselves. A nation of carwards. Witness the bar association comments "this protest has nothing to do with politics". How carwardly and defensive. How can this problem be resolved if not by action from the political directorate. The action may not be partisan but hell yeah it has political implications. Can you really run away from that fact mr. Andy George?

That action will sent a message, strong or not, to the authorities and a very negative message to others who see them as lawyers,as authority figures. I know that there a other means of getting the message to those who are responsible. Shame on the person who had that brilliant idear. I hope who had to hear has heard.

What I want to know is when do the convicts on death row get what's coming to them. Picking up from what the first commenter said, how come the lawyers never protested that measure?

The Government should just ignore these selfish pricks. At the end of the day a functioning court system has no impact on the poverty-stricken of the country since they still will not get justice served swiftly to them.

You see King look worried at all. SLP demonstrate, it did not move him, lawyers demonstrate he just laugh at that. What a guy.

Zeigy said...

Well King is famous for doing nothing about anything so yeah, WHAT a guy.

Wasn't that same building there during the SLP reign? So what's the fuss now, those cowards, they're only protesting now because other people are. Cowards I say.

St Lucia has some of the most corrupt lawyers of any nation. I know the world resents many lawyers, but I never expected our “almost perfect and safe St Lucia” to be included on that list.

Most of these skulking, indifferent, disinterested, self-centered, greedy and unscrupulous members of St Lucian society have become the epitome of evil in a nation where evil seem to be lurking just about everywhere through crime.

Our beautiful “Helen of the west” isn’t what it was. Paradise and prosperity for all who wanted to work for it plus safety and patriotism is a thing of the past.

It is possible to bring it all back but not without a major overhaul of the law, government and of course, holding lawyers accountable and making transparency mandatory through out the spectrum.

The wealth of a nation is its people, not how much money and property it has.

St Lucians are being victimized on a daily basis by corrupt lawyers, politicians, criminals, inadequate laws and the judges who interpret these laws.

These people are absolutely proficient in skullduggery on a daily schedule which fuels their insatiable appetite regarding greed and corruption.

They may have acquired some legal form of education enough to get a license to practice law, but they know very little about life. There are those who practice law on a daily basis without the slightest comprehension of what truth, honesty and justice is.
They may recite some fancy words and phrases in a court of law, but understands little about everything else. It is a travesty to humankind when lawmakers exact such atrocities on those who depend on their legal representation.

The system of law in St Lucia gave lawyers a license to steal generations ago.

Only the lawyer keeps signed documents of all transactions “legal of illegal” as proof, NOT the government.

Government institutions and the public can only receive an alleged true copy of the original of any transaction, only signed by the lawyer (ha ha) how reassuring is that?

These lawyers and the courts vehemently pretend on a daily basis as if “no wrong doing ever occurs within the offices of attorneys and the halls of justice”

There are no public records of any signed documents between the people’s transactions and a lawyer to be verified. Only the lawyers have these signed documents.

Wouldn’t it be absolute law that the government be in possession of all original documents pertaining to the nation’s business in order for justice to prevail?

The lawyers control all documents relating to all kinds of transactions and can make them disappear in the blink of an eye.

It is of some comfort and a sliver of temporary retribution to see these members of St Lucian society parading around the very building where they practice their witchcraft and voodoo spells over the unsuspecting public.

It pleases me to see these lawyers protesting because of deplorable conditions regarding the law and the continued victimization of the innocent. But on the other hand, they are only doing this for themselves, not because they care.

The government can build the most advance building with the most environmentally friendly atmosphere to house the law. It wouldn’t make a damn difference until the law is properly overhauled and all the lawyers are held accountable for their unscrupulous actions.

Most of these lawyers are incorrigible by the way they rape the nation every day. They only pretend to honour the black robes of English and French heritage that they wear. However, it only hides their true persona.

The inherent dual law system of St Lucia which came from the French and English, and which now forms the “Revised laws of St Lucia” greatly contributes to the inadequacy of the law. These lawyers use any or all of these different laws individually or combined to conduct business, create chaos and to win by any means necessary. This is not law. That is corruption.

It is time that St Lucians wake up to the reality of misrepresentation by those who took an oath to practice law. It is the same as doctors who has taken the Hippocratic Oath to save lives instead of endangering it by deliberate negligence

Their freemason commitment to each other’s unscrupulous ways has eroded the legal fabric of this once great island nation.

There is only one solution. Lawyers must repent and change their ways this new millennium.

However, in the end, even lawyers and politicians will be held accountable when they face “judgment day”
