You hit the nail right on the head. This writer's ideas are unbias--we need more pieces like this one. Hope we get to the crux of the problem...hope this government can live up to their campaigning efforts against crime. So far, they have failed miserably in that regard, and finds it best to look for scapegoats-the police. We need fresh ideas and a vision for the success of our country and its people.

This is called a crime cycle comprising of crime waves and it will keep on revolving and evolving. This is the result of years of neglect of the youth in our society which were supposed to be our future. You mentioned people are getting scared. The people have been scared for many years now for they have leaders on both sides that are clueless which makes them powerless and not able to protect their citizens. I am haering St Lucians in the New York area saying they are afraid to go over to St Lucia to visit.
Can you believe this? A tiny island of 160,000 people and it is getting out of control which is the logical cosequence of failed administrations comprising academics of both political parties with low quality performaces of leadership and limited vision.
