That's a cutting edge of crime fighting I'd not heard of. Has it not occurred to the Police that those who hid there will just find somewhere else? It's not solving the problem, it's merely moving it elsewhere.

Anon.#2 what your are saying is do nothing. Right? Garcon did you go to the same schools as retards like JookBois, Guy Mayers, Guy Joseph, and Marcus Nicholas?

The people interviewed sound like they need their heads examined. They don't even realize that they sounding like complete idiots. They are loaded with commonsense and cannot work from any other thing but their gut feelings. Our education system is producing boatloads of idiots each year.

These are the same people that benefit from the life of crime smh. The same ones complaining about why police shot the 2 guys.

So the police now have to have the permission of the residents to do their work? I have never in my life heard of such foolishness in any of the other countries I have lived. Police almost always have to surprise these scumbags in order to catch them.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Francois your job is a very difficult one, but only the scumbags themselves, their political representative and their relatives who depend on the drug trade to make a living will take issue with what the police is doing. God does not like ugly!

Go Francois! The majority is on your side and do what you think is necessary. I'm pretty sure you mean well and it just shows that there was at least a minute level of planning involved, especially knowing that the resources at your disposal are minimal. Criminals are always gonna plan to outwit you guys and its hard to keep up when you have a tight budget to work with. I think the Government really need to analyze this situation carefully and allocate more funds towards the Police. Obviously its not all about giving funds but I'm sure there are basic recommendations made by the lawmen which can only be met by allocation of more funds. This financial crisis of course is not an easy thing to deal with, but, proper analysis by the parties involved and they should be able to squeeze something from the little that they have. On the heels of the recent disaster it is no doubt a difficult situation. The Police are not infallible and after all, i do think they generally mean well. So let the guys do their job using the tools they have at their disposal. Never will i be on the side of those Criminals, and some of you who blog in an effort to criticize the lawmen, try being a victim of these senseless criminals and tell me what it feels like. I'm waiting to hear one of you be honest about your feelings thereafter, and legally, the only recourse is the understaffed, under-equipped and mostly hard working Police services. So stop the NONSENSE all you anti-police individuals and realize that there are many innocent people who get caught in the mix and never live to tell the story of how it occurred. Shame on all of you who cannot and most times choose not to see this picture. Some criminals depending on the class of the offense, do have a bigger picture behind the act itself which of course lean on the side of social issues, but at this point we must admit its out of control and drastic steps need to be taken. DON'T GIVE UP FRANCOIS, STAY THE COURSE TILL THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS MARGINALLY SAFE FROM THOSE SCUMBAGS!!!

The comments of some in this blog is exactly why the situation will remain the same. Anytime something worthwhile is done to better society unless there is not a direct monetary gain no one is in support. unless we as st lucians can support the cause and not fight against it nothing will change. That is why no government will be able to change the state of affairs in this island. The only way things will change is when lucians start thinking and behaving differently. I cannot see how the government or police can be blamed for criminals having no respect for human life, authority etc.

After gunning down two young men in their homes in the we hours of the morning, the Police have to smooth it over with their tree cutting tactic. Well boohoo! do they think people are still so stupid? How can Police claim to fight crime when they are committing criminal acts themselves? We do not want Police to shoot people in their homes under the pretence that they were armed,we want due process of law. Apprehend the criminals and let them be subject to the necessary court trials. let a jury find them guilty and let the judge send them to prison. That is what happens in civilized society. We want men who will serve and protect, within the confines of the law not a band of executioners calling themselves the black squad.
Until now the Police cannot account for any spent shells from the 580 caliber weapon they say was fired at them on that ill fated morning. Who do they think they are fooling? It is a known fact that their victims were arrested the day before they committed the atrocity against them. If the were suspect in the death of Chris Kelly, why did the Police arrest them and released them , then go their homes and shoot them? I am just wondering after they pulled the triggers of their weapons did they go home to their children and their women and say "I love you?" How could such monsters live with themselves? The Police in St Lucia are a law unto themselves and they are allowed to continue behaving as if they live in the wild wild west. One thing is for certain, St.Lucia is a police state and that needs to be changed or else we will be up for a rude awakening. As it is the the Philistines among us applaud the actions of the Police. Do they even realize that that type of behaviour by the Police only creates a high level of anti-police atmosphere? Cutting trees to prevent crime? What a group of retards! I would prefer my children to be garbage collectors than to be police officers in Saint Lucia.

Annoymous how dare you refer to people who have complained about what the Police did as people who benefit from the drug trade? Are you stupid or what? Do we have to live by the law of Moses,"An eye for an eye" just to please cowering fools like you? The Police are wrong to do what they did and this overshadows by far what these boys were suspected of having done. If the Police are so lawless who are they to fight against lawlessness? You dimbat, two wrongs do not make right. Police take an oath to protect life and property and that did not exclude the lives of suspects. And for your information, the lives of the Black Squad that invaded the homes of these guys were never in danger,so why don't you shut up and get your facts straight before you glorify what these scum bag cops did? The biggest scum buckets in Saint Lucia are the officers of the Royal St Lucia Police Force. And what we have in Saint Lucia is not a Police Force, but a death squad..a band of marauding criminals posing as law men. So go and find out exactly what happened and then come back on this blog...you barefaced coward!

As for you the other anonymous,no majority of people are on Francois's side. If you can call yourself the majority then bravo for you and Francois. Any Police Force who have to kill under the cover of darkness to fight crime,demonstrates a level of incompetence that is incomprehensible. Nobody is saying that criminals must be given free reign to hurt people, but what the Police did is unacceptable and any questionable actions cannot and should not be supported. Before you dance the victory dance get the facts of the matter straight.Typical Saint Lucian...dancing before the party begins. Only illiterate people like you will support what the Police did but then I almost forgot that Saint Lucia is saturated with your kind. Francois and his killer aides are 100% WRONG! Fire for them and you too.

Hands off the police. Let them do their work. Let the scumbags learn something else other than trade drugs. We have scumbags in office that why we have a reign of terror in the country. This Wild West got to stop. Federicks lost a paycheck in truth they say.

The comments written about in that article supposedly made by residents are bull-crap. This is the disease we have here in St. Lucia. They want no crime, but when it comes to doing what is right, the idiots cry out foul. That's why St. Lucia is on its bare-rims. The tree was cut down, to remove all obscurity, so that the criminals would not hide up there, in and around the branches. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THAT. I am no Police Officer, and I don't need to be, but I can fully understand, that whatever that needs to be REMOVED to prevent the provision of FACILITIES, for criminals to operate from and within like for example, old neglected derelict buildings and containers, SO BE IT.
If people know of Police Officers who are corrupt, find a Priest or Pastor, to tell it to, if you say, you are hesitant to tell it to the Police. Surely, the priest or Pastor, should know how to deal appropriately with such information. Or is it too, that you St. Lucians don't even trust your Pastors or priests? You all must stop being so damn ignorant and base.

One thing I know for certain, the VERNON FRANCOIS that I know, is not a Police Officer who covers up filth. That extends to the filth of the so-called people in high office. Did you St. Lucians not say, Government Ministers were shielding criminals? Well take it from me, Francois knows what he knows, and he is hell=bent on making life miserable both for the criminals and for those protecting them, whether in high office or elsewhere. So if he has to break down their hide-outs, be they trees, derelict buildings, old abandoned containers, he will do that. Vernon Francois is known in some form or another, to speak up, when the bull-crap, was going on in the Police Force, and I believe most Police Officers would recall that. One thing is certain. This Government as well as, the opposition Leader of the St. Lucia Labour Party will never be able to cope with the values of Mr. Vernon Francois. Commissioner Francois, trust me, as long as you stay clear of low-down, stinking, nasty, filthy politics, and remain loyal to your country and the people of your country, by doing what is right, just and proper, to help them, you will and cannot go wrong. Never allow any Politician to dictate your work. Stand by what is right. That is what has brought down many Police Commissioners, as well as the last sacking of the Comptroller of Customs, Leonard whatever, I forgot his name. Remember you are serving your country, not Politicians.

Praise to Allah the police have got one.

It's sad that most of us do not know why Police shoot people and get away with it. The Saint Lucia Constitution makes it very difficult for the citizens of Saint Lucia to take legal action when a person is killed by Police. In Chapter one of the Constitution under "Protection of Fundamental rights and Freedoms" it clearly states:

2.- (1) A person shall not be deprived of his life intentionally save in execution of the
sentence of a court in respect of a criminal offence under any law or which he has been
convicted.
(2) A person shall not be regarded as having been deprived of his life in
contravention of this section if he dies as the result of the use to such extent and on such
circumstances as are permitted by law, of such force as is reasonably justifiable-
a) for the defence of any person from violence or for the defence of a property;
b) in order to effect a lawful arrest or to prevent the escape of a person lawfully
detained;
c) for the purpose or suppressing a riot, insurrection or mutiny; or d) in order to prevent the commission by that person of a criminal offence.
or if he dies as the result of lawful act of war.
read between the lines. With a Constitution like that, Police can easily kill and maim anybody and there's not a damn thing we can do about it. Their excuse will always be that they were executing a search warrant and there was a confrontation, or the individual tried to run so they riddled him with bullets. This is the license that Police have to kill, and this is why they behave like mercenaries as opposed to officers of the law. They have all the Rights!The Constitution of Saint Lucia makes Saint Lucia a Police country. We need to take a stand and demand that the Constitution be changed so that another incident like the one at Bois Patat does not occur. For years the Police in Saint Lucia have been killing who they will under the guise of law and order simply because our Constitution gives them the Right to do it. Time for. That Constitution sucks big time! It is anti-citizen. People we really have no freedom in Saint Lucia if this country continues to be run by Police.

Annoymous, stop making Francois seem like some paragon of virtue. Look who was at the funeral of Chris Jn.Paul. Did you see them at the funeral of the little 8 year old girl? Shut your stupid face. Francois is just as crooked as the rest of them he is just trying to score points to impress his appointers in the first place. It would not be surprising that what his Black Squad did at Bois Patat was an ordered execution by his bosses. He is just one big puppet. And why don't you try this on for size: Do you think Francois and his henchmen can scare the whole of Saint Lucia. Fighting crime by legal means by foot. There is nothing legal about executing people at the their homes just because they are suspect in crime. You are so daft both you and Francois. I bet you are one of them! Politics put Francois there and Politics will be his undoing too Boo!
