Let’s debate the Airport Extension Project without flying Party Colours!

Sadly but truly none of the arguments made up entered into the calculus for a decision to upgrade the airport. When we will have elected more sensible people to parliament they will see that a gradualist or phased approach as Barbados did it, is preferable because of the financial constraints and debt burden.

The construction industry is noted for fraud and scandals. With the likes of King, Bruce Tucker and the Drug Baron as key actors in government today, that does not inspire great confidence that some koko makcak is not part of the entire process from head to toe, from start to finish. Where there is no vision the people perish.

Great trend of thoughts. Hope the uwp government will take note.

You said it, Mr Dantes!! While Hewanorra needs upgrading, it should be done in a more realistic, and logical fashion - in stages!!

Political colours should stay away from this!!

I sincerely hope the colours who are now serving us take note of your opinion.

Just by saying you are unbiased DOES NOT make you unbiased. What you actually wrote says more about you than the subject in question. In short, your argument is rather weak.

Poor St Lucia, we always have certain people that want to keep us back: who think small and want only small things for the island. Everyone knows there are certain risk factors involved in any new project, however, nothing great comes out of living life dominated by fear. Fear is humankind's greatest enemy! St Lucia has more potential than most of the Caribbean islands, but it will NEVER fulfill that promise until it gives up living fearfully like a bunch of dumb trembling sheep.

Both Hewanorra and St Lucia desperately need this upgrade. Hopefully, St Lucians will not allow themselves to stand in the way of their own progress.

Sorry sir, most of the people in government today, did not go the right schools, or to attend school long enough to understand what you are saying above.

Now, most St. Lucians did not go to the right schools, or to stay in school long enough to understand what you are saying.

Therefore, St. Lucia is going to continue to be idiot country.

Most of the world is idiot country - with the blind leading the blind, but St Lucians don't give up on St Lucia!

When you get to be an idiot country they treat you like Haiti. You get noticed if there is a disaster. They promise money to help and you never get it. Nowadays, St. Lucia is getting help but the money is going to the bank accounts of ministers. Idiot ministers clever enough to line their pockets but let the country's poor remain beggars.

Blogger #8 I like your 'idiot-country' term = the 'Haiti-look': a very funny and astute observation.

Very well written and researched
article, but you neglected to have
mentioned the company that has the
bulk of the contract. The companies
name is Delant Construction and its
president is Juan Delgado.Any doubts about why this airport
is being built will be dispelled
if you know about the history of
this companies bribing of public
officials.

Once you have a jailbird from the US penal system involved as a cabinet minister, no good can come from this. St. Lucia has gone to the dogs. It is time to replace the scum.

i say go for it, how long must we wait for progress. who cares if its uwp who built us an up to standard modern airport and not slp. an for ministers geting cuts mmm, then we will have to investigate slaspa an thier members involve also? can we just put this to rest, honestly we need this, the country is to good to hold back we need jobs, we need movement in the country more jobs we create the better for our graduates each school year. stop all this personal beef with politics cause both parties did the same when it comes to scandals, so move one put the other doesn't add up. i say go for it and just like the tunnel, the dam, pointe seraphine, rodney bay, causeway etc we will see it flourish before our eyes. and the custom brokers to will enjoy going to the modern cargo facilty with the ups, dhi, fedex, merijet an the rest of the cargo planes doing a hub service here and i dont see why in the future we could look into an investment in upgrading the port at vieux fort and have all container cargo come in at that port.
