Though better than your usual articles, you spoiled this one at the end by using America as a good example because IT IS NOT!. It only appears to be. In the US, there is only justice for the rich because they alone can hire the best lawyers; the poor usually lose their cases. One has to live for some time in the US to discover how it really works: it fools the world by making itself look good outwardly, but behind the scenes practically everything is corrupt. Watch carefully and you'll see how Strauss-Kahn (the IMF guy) will get out of his pathetic and guilty situation.

We are a God fearing community who take faith, religion and church quite seriously.
-------------------
If you all had taken religion seriously, this country would have been better.
The only religion that is taken seriously here is obeah.

Grand Anse has been raped not only for sand. Many prospective land buyers have been raped of their deposits in shady deals. There are so many liens on properties in that area that the estate will never be able to be purchased and developed.
Although I heard it has recently been sold. How and to who? New drug dealers?

Well said Mr Josie, it is time we all speak up and challenge the status quo, not only taking the dumb things from The USA but also seeking to do whatsvright the interest of our beloved country and not our individual interest.
It is small acts of breaking the law and passing it out as cultural behaviour that has allowed our politicians to become so spineless, corrupt and shameless liars when they seek and gain office. We must demand a higher standard from all citizens and ensure the axe falls who ever is found wanting regardless of theirvstatipn in society it is only then we will see a reduction in the criminal activity on the island. The mere shooting of the known or suspected gun slingers will not succeed it is but a temporary solution like a cancer that will come back with vengeance.

Shorter Josie: St. Lucia is bandit country. We have jailbirds in Cabinet, tax cheats and drug barons as ministers who hold up other goons like themselves as examples for the rest of us to follow, liars under oath, pure nitwits as ministers, sellers of people's private medical records as ministers, and poor performers in high-school as PM material. So what do you expect?

Why we always talking about America when discussing St Lucian issues ? America has more resources than any other country in the world
and has 300+ million people. Not to mention they paid for Independence in blood 235 years ago.

Lets focus on our unique Island. We need to build ourself up and stop acting like 175,000 crabs in a barrel.

Our attitude is more devastating than our lack of funding.
