You're bang on target Peter Lang. Let's face the facts square in the face, and having recognised how far down we have come since the shocking days immediately following the last election let us resolve to turn this country around.

It is clear that this administration's lame excuse that things are tight everywhere along with their ludicrous claim to have made Saint Lucia into the largest economy in the Eastern Caribbean (OECS)indicates that far from being equal to the task of turning the country around in difficult times, we can only expect the UWP of king, Frederick and Chastanet to continue to blunder, spin and bluff its way.

There surely must be a better way than the corruption, incompetence and spin that has passed for government for the last five years.

And I am not one of those who buys the lesser of two evils nonsense of the spin doctors who have a vested interest in seeing this shambles of a government remain in office!

Peter Lang I absolutely concur with everything you wrote, who feels it knows it. I do not live in SLU but the well being of the citizenry and the country is of primary concern to me. I am not there to witness what is actually happening, but I know the people are hurting.
With that said, I don’t believe those of us living abroad should be given the right to vote ever. We should never have right to impose a government on the people and run back to our safe haven.

Thanks to people like you for having the fearlessness to speak your mind, although I know it is at a cost. Bravo!!!

I hope the people come out to vote and make the right decision.
Too Many indignities, too much turbulence, Time for change.

Peter Lang, you are starting to sound like a republican. St.Lucia is not America.
Why don't you run for office to help fix things instead of criticizing everything.

Peter Lang is not sounding like any Republican, you bias what you are. Our country was not prefect and as a matter of fact we will never have a perfect country. But SLP was in office for 9 yrs and they were developing the country at a rapid rate, we were begining to overtake all the other caribbean islands interms of progress and development. UWP with the help of the media began to criticize every mistake the SLP made. They begged us for our vote promising to do better and to take us to glory land. Now they are in office, they have taken St lucia to the dogs with corruption, incompetence with substandard MPs. The country development has staled and we find ourselves worse them we were before. All they do is to complain about the world recession and to criticize Kenny who is out of office, after presenting a billion dollar budget each year. So Peter Lang has ever right to speak out as a concern tax payer.

Yeah right! The underground economy with millions in narco-money has a right to vote itself in office. The jailbirds and other miscreants are in for the ride too.

But St. Lucians who live abroad who may want to retire and may be sending money home to build retirement homes in the country are to be kept out of voting for DECENT government. How St. Lucians love the scoundrels and misfits who are now in power!

@ above, St. Lucian nationality you see means little to these backward people. Any idiot George Mallet, or egomaniac like John Compton, can move in here from another country and be prime minister. People born here are considered lesser mortals if they decide to reside abroad for a while. In other words, be poor, stay poor and let deviants, jailbirds, real crooks, and drug barons, drug fiends, and drug lords rule the country. Des bandes salop!
