LIAT is very similar to Air Canada.

it was just a matter of time b4 the PM of St.Vincent would see express his true feelings about liat. LIAT is a ticking time bomb, whose only means of not blowing off is if you cut the wire. In this case the wire is basically cutting the money line that StVincent,Barb & Antigua finances and subsidizes Liat.
Why cant we say to Liat ok you've been fantastic for 4 decades thank you and then move on to what is in the offering of better well equiped airlines which are able to survive in this modern travel industry WHICH in fact LIAT hasn't seem able to attain. I mean after all so many airlines have gone bust esp in this climate of the global recession. The best thing for LIAT is either smaller management and restructuring or it merges lets say with CAL or AIR CANADA which wants to enter the caribbean travel market.
Redjet is not going anywhere just yet and as it increases more regional routes which every body who is not a die hard loyal fan of LIAT will switch to any new airlines esp. Redjet with its low fare scheme to woo passengers and business execs and NGO groups esp in summer times
