I respect and honor you for this article, the honest is so respectful and a sure sign of emotional health. As you possible know it is researched fact that in Catholic developed countries sexual abuse is deep seeded and not spoken about, the illness is in the culture and many important people are abusers and victims and will not support this discussion. A little discussed fact is how the church support this ignornance and fight indirectly to stop the conversations. There is a sick histroy from the priest background that boys who are raped will be neat, strong, wise and sucessful, many poor rape their boys and girls for this and when we become sucessful the family in their heads believes the sexual ause was a good things. This started with the Priest boy being successful and neat and clean and abused, and getting alot of help from the Priest and no one talking about the truth. That the Priest was a rapist and the survivor a hero. I wish the West Indies and South America would do as America, England and Ireland did and sue the church for this behavior, and use some of the money for treatment and educations on the topic, if so let me know, I'm a forensic Social worker and would moove back to St Lucia to help with this. Also you are due all my respect.

In Saint Lucia some sex abusers are rewarded as president of senate. So how can you expect the phenomenon ever end.

AJ Said: I honor you for writing this article, i have supported victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence in the uk for 15 years and have worked with many young girls that have lived with a history of sexual abuse but have now said enough is enough and found their voices to raise the issue of sexual/family violence in both St. Lucia, Dominica, and many of the other islands, we need women like you to come forward and write these such articles in order for change to happen
