Where is Emma to fix this problem?

the problem isn't Emma!!
The problem is the retarded people living & doing business there.
St. Lucians have not yet fully evolved.
evolution has by-passed some!
Get brains people!!

No.1, you are delusional!

Emma is right here in St Lucia doing what she was voted in to do - to give us proper, respectful, civil and lawful representation. In Gros Islet, at least in Cas-en-bas, the gabbage collection trucks comes twice a week - Mondays and Thursdays.

Whoever is responsible for this eye-sore should be held accountable - not Emma. But I guess the yellow jointis (spelling?) in your eyes is prevention your from seeing any other shades but yellow!!

The Rodney Bay area has already been called a rat infested area; just read the comments on TripAdvisor.

Very well written article and very relevant considering the tourist from Canada's letter in the same edition of the newspaper.
As a business owner in Rodney Bay we were concerned about the garbage and called Gros Islet council to ask for it to be collected. We were told that because it was put there by a commercial enterprise they would not/could not arrange collection. So we paid our garbage collector to take it away.
There are many responsible business owners in Rodney Bay, and elsewhere, that do pay for garbage collection, pest control and adhere to health and safety regulations. It only takes one person to not give a damn and all that is negated.
So, who is responsible? Well we all are, naturally! The dumping of garbage should be taken seriously by each and every one of us every day. Otherwise our beautiful island will slide into decline

NO STANDARDS that is what we lack as a ppl not just in st lucia but the english speaking islands.. u think u could go on the strip in las vegas and see garbage on the roadside, or below the eiffel tower, hamilton city of bermuda & see garbage, or closer to home in curacao city .. the 2 islands mentioned above are the epitamy of island living esp from a tourist perspective u go there and not a scrap of paper, No wonder tourist flock there..WHAT ABOUT THE GREAT SINGAPORE- garbage is the least thing to worry about .. but poor rodney bay dont have the wherewithall to stop illegal dumping of garbage in the heart of its nitelife .. NO STANDARDS ..
