Such inept reporting. How can hale British Airways and have a pic of Virgin on your cover story? Virgin should retaliate. Beside didn't i hear a 7% decrease in stay over arrivals? Conflicting information.

So explain to me how a HEADLINE can say an INCREASE in arrivals and the body of the text says a DECREASE !

Are we so propagandized in St. Lucia that east is west and up is down?

This article/reporting is interesting
in the sense that no one took responsibility for it, not even the press dept of the St. Lucia Tourist Board.

Wwoo!! This is a noodle in a bunker.

The St. lucia Labour Party has lived on propaganda. The produce nothing but words then get into power and spend like druken sailors.

Their only good attribute is to attack and smear others. They are a good cult living on fairy tale nonsense but produce nothing.

So who wrote and issued this piece of propaganda that does not even know where up or down is?

They are so quick to propagandize like the Soviet Union of old that they are even know confusing themselves with their lies!

to respond to the anon above my comment... SLP has nt been a huge spark of relief but keep in mind what they have accomplished so far..
1 implementation of labour code
2 implementation of VAT
3 bursury and monetary assistance for parents to help their children with school books etc..$500.each

4 continuation of both new hospitals started under the uwp..so both parties have a role in these hospitals

5 STEP PROGRAMME commenced a few weeks after SLP won and still continues helping alot of poor ppl weekly ..

6 Decision to sell the Daher Hypermart so perhaps a private investor can turn it into a commercial center so tax payers wont have to pay such a debt..

7 LASTLY.. the continuation of the HEWANNORA INTL AIRPORT WILL CONTINUE WITH SLP WHICH IS A GOOD IDEA ...

so far they are doing ok.. not as fast as we want but not bad in 9 months

When did they say they would continue with the airport hmmmm

So all the above blogger realy had to say is this:

"Kenny and Phillip are borrowing hundreds of millions of dollars thst we do not have and cannot pay back and they have NEVER proven that they have the ability to generate sufficient growth in the economy either to pay back these loans OR to to create jobs."

There is nothing that is listed in their so called achievements other than "borrow, borrow, borrow, borrow and more borrowing!"

What about the millions going to the SLP hacks given big jobs everywhere?

Where is the assistance for the middle class. You consider the VAT - which is simply a TAX - as being assistance to the citizenry of St. Lucia? Amem - so now taxes for Kenny to waste is now a good point for the people of St. Lucia.

How far we have fallen!

yes anony.. if u listened to the budget 2012 it was highlighted that " the govern would not abandon the airport"...
what i hope is that slp doesnt change the design the new airport and keeps it as it is ..then v fort will have a new terminal to boost to the rest of the oecs even one that is nicer than barbados airport..

to the other anonymous ... we have to borrow to finance these projects..just give any gov its due if it is doing somethings economically beneficial for the island such as the "CONSTRUCTION CONCESSIONS FOR NEW HOME OWNERS, NEW BIZ AND OTHER BIZ TO EXPAND THEIR BLGS.. SO JOBS CAN BE CREATED... recognize good ideas ppl in these tuff times...doesnt matter if its uwp or slp

Well Kenny and the incompetent bunch now have more on their hands !

BELIZE DEFAULTS

Belize says it is going to default on the next interest payment of US$46 million on Belize's accumulated US$544 million foreign debt, referred to as the "super bond" which is due on August 20.

This will send shock waves through the Caribbean finance markets with investors now afraid to touch Caribbean debt.

So Kenny since 1997 has destroyed St. Lucia's credit rating and he is back borrowing at a rate of $250 million a year.
They will try to cover up their inability to generate growth because of their failed policies but St. Lucias debt of $1.7 billion speaks for itself.

So they can haul out all the nice words and keep on patting themselves on the back but they now have to face us to reality.

they boasting tourism arrivals but can not definitively say if they will continue with the Hewannora intl airport.. i mean ppl didnt vote for a gov who is speculating on such an important venture..

all that talk about airport too expensive and how it can affect our debt ratio..AIRPORTS PAY FOR THEMSELVES OK.. u mean st lucia cannot afford an airport of only $160. million USD what is this country worth then.. come on .. its not going to cost $1billion EC ..come on.. ppl.. thats why this island will FOREVER BE BACKWARD..
we need a new terminal just do the damn thing man dont fix old hewannora it has done its time build fresh ..

Oh 1 last point. If we cannot afford or playing games like we cannot increase our debt to GDP Ratio that significantly..why dont we approach the Taiwanese afterall they asked the present gov, how are they able to help with the islands development goals.. approach them ..So far Taiwan has not helped in a major development project in the island...that would be a good place to start ..afterall from my recollection a taiwanese firm would have a share in this new terminal airport if it did went start last yr...

If Grenada and St.Vincent don't have it, why should we? That's the mentality of our present government. We should not move ahead of the rest of the OECS countries. We should stay back as a team LOL.
