That was not an objective nor a balanced view of what is actually going on.
The VAT was inevitable; the extent of the growing pains and amount of confusion that surrounds its introduction are not.
It is bitter days!

When old men like that neanderthal writer and dinosaur above, emerges from the woodwork, espousing values of accommodation with any okd sh t that any administration does, the younger people of this nation are facing a future, which down somewhere on Sh t Street!

We have to improve our standards of performance, from the PM and GG down to the lowest civil servant, who all use our taxes to live very comfy lives!

Sylvestre gives one more reason to feel sorry for him. He failed as teacher,trade unionist, author, graduate student (in Canada) and now a poorly written article and reasoning on Vat. He has no understanding of the issue.

These god damn old fogeys are responsible for the country being in the sad mess that it is in today.
They accepted all kinds of sh t from John Compton, like he, Compton a blasted foreigner at that, punishing for over 30 friggin' years, people from Anse La Raye and Canaries for not voting for his friggin' UWP party.
He was not even from St. Lucia but he punishing people for not voting for him. Imagine that!
He god damn loved St. Lucia so much he had his damn ashes scattered over the sea.
That bastard from St. Vincent dropped the economy like a hot potato into the lap of Vaughn Lewis, when he Compton did no longer have the safety of a protected banana market.
In his senility, he could not figure a way out to manage the sinking ship.
Yet old fogies like mate, just party hacks and yardfowls all of the, backed senile Compton when that fisherfolk-minded bastard from St. Vincent, fooled the god damn idiots like mate into believing that he Compton could revive an already-dead banana industry.
Again, Compton added insult to injury. The senile old fogey, placed three, god damn albatrosses around the neck of the docile and laid-back country:
1) a drug baron responsible for the deaths and murders of one young person per week, nearly 52 in one calendar year alone!
2) a well-known con artist and US convict, known to have spent time in the US penetentiary, being made a foreign minister. He could have expelled both of those reprobates, if he Compton wanted to.
3) a messenger boy, a.k.a. law clerk, being made the next in line, then to take on the title, the title only, 'cause, up to now, he does not know one fart about a vision and leadership. Compton groomed his errand boy to take on the highest office in the country. Imagine that. An office messenger as PM.
What ole sh t will such old fogeys like mate have us to accept next?
