You and I know that not even you believe this thing you just wrote. Let's stop the pretence. We all know what's brewing.

Poorly written. His heart wasn't really in it.

I am happy dr.Anthony mentioned assistance in education hopefully from Taiwan.. What i do propose is that the gov truly seeks a significant aid from the Taiwanese embassy here to build a world class COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY.. PERHAPS AN OECS ONE AT THAT..its true Grenada has a university but to my knowledge its not geared towards OECS nationals plus the fees are outrageously high.. and its not a comprehensive university at that... certain career fields are absent...

A school would propel st.lucia into a leading 3rd world or developing country.. the mere 12million USD in aid from taiwan annually can only do so much..we need a boost to propel our country in modernization in skilled technical employment in areas of medicine,agriculture & I.T.. Taiwan has the means in helping the whole OECS countries with a university built in vieux fort..or maybe with our NEW HIA.. OR A NEW HIGHWAY CUT FROM CAS EN BAS TO DENNERY.. these are 3 areas that can propel st lucia & its ppl & save us 100s of millions of $$ in the long run

We must stop talking about development in abstract terms.This does not get people excited.Now,if I say that in three years time I want to transform the entire chaucee road into a shopping promenade.I creat an image that get people excited; it creats a vision that triggers discussion among all sectors of the society,from which inputs can be drawned.Present a picture of whats inside your head,and sell it. Even to aid donors.

To date, no party in St. Lucia has had the capacity nor the capabilit, nor the vision, to put to the public, or on the table for public discussion:

a) a comprehensive and highly-integrated plan and plan of action, for the short-, medium-, and long-term future modernization of this country; (where there is no vision, the people perish; dog eat our supper and crapauds smoke our pipe);

b) a vision of what St. Lucia would look like within THE NEXT 20 YEARS! (Politicians are very, very, very comfortable with the status quo, doing just enough to get elected and re-elected, while going through the motions, exploiting the perks of office and giving cabinet colleagues and party yardfowls, funds leached from taxes collected on behalf of the state.)

c) the sectors (technical training, technical tertiary-level education, plus early childhood education) that need to be strategically funded THROUGH OUR VERY OWN EFFORTS, and those of our 'friends' and aid donors, and strategically promoted as means to make us RETAKE and propel us to sustainable weallth creation and growth of our GDP.

Don't pay any mind to the hosts of bumbling retards who cannot see the forest from the trees, in cobbling an effective programme to implement the VAT, when they should have carefully studied how to skillfully avoid the mistakes of those who did this, long before we attempted our own national initiative.

We need assistance in the agricultural sector where by the farmers are taught effectice means of production and factories built to preserve and package agricultural produce for both local consumption and export. Tourism is not sustainable as agriculture is.

We need mostly Technical assistance (the know how), not just money. We just want to stand on our own two feet.

Now that up there is a very refreshing change from the perspective we have been trained to have since they got for us that phony independence1

This will be removing us from the company of beggar countries looking for the fish or handouts, to a position of allowing us to learn and get the biggest catch of fish we want to get all by and for ourselves.

Down with the party hacks and yardfowls with one hand out-stretched and the other with a begging bowl!

Arguably your best piece ever, Micah.
