The Joy of Giving

Ms. Clara St. Romain;
The feeding of the indigent is without question a magnanimous act which has a guarantee of a generous reward from the Most Generous, the Almighty Owner of the Universe. I learned from theProphets of God Himself, that the most significant thing about any action is the intention, and God/Allah judges man by the intent of his actions.

Last year As-sue-Square I encountered a female I had always thought was sexually attractive and desirable/lust. I initiated a conversation, “A-A you enjoying yourself, Janice?” I asked with intent to “make-a-tack”. I was really not concerned about her welfare but the net was cast for sexual capture, and she took it. “My ride just left me here and I have no money and I am hungry and thirsty” was her reply. That's sweet Music to my ears.

Come on get whatever you want to eat, it's my pleasure, and I'll drop you home up North. After a few Heineken we were headed “home” with my plan to stop at the beach where a little more persuading and "squeezing of the head" and there! it opened sesame! Seats reclined and it was on!

I fed her some hot Bakes and Akcras, gave her a ride home and fulfilled my intention – my sexual pleasure. Was my feeding Janice an act of benevolence or diabolical? O.K., what if she had rejected my sexual moves and I had taken her strait home? Would I have gotten a blessing for feeding her?

Because all of my “good” actions were predicated on an evil intention all of them were diabolical/evil. God/Allaah Knows the intention of the person. From the Qur-an:

Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. (12)

And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men).(13)

Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. (14)

Now I ask you, why did you find it necessary to broadcast your feeding of the homeless? Was it to show-off like Peter Josie was telling Lucians how they were hungry and he gave them food to save them from starving to death? To be seen of men? so it can be said "She is so good and kind, feeding the indigent"

Well you should know, for an act to be considered righteous the action must be done for the sole purpose of pleasing God. If that action is associated with seeking the thanks reward or praise of men that action becomes sinful. God has blessed sexual intercourse between husband and wife, because there is charity in a spouse satisfying the needs of the other's, while masturbation is about selfishness – personal gratification, feeling good.

So Clara how much “Joy in giving” did you get?

Surah Al-Baqara

O you who believe, do not nullify your acts of charity by boasting about (doing people a) favour and by causing (them) hurt, like the one who spends his wealth to show off before people and does not believe in Allah and in the Last Day. So, his example is like a rock on which there is dust, then a heavy rain came over it and left it barren. 148 They have no ability to gain anything out of what they have done, and Allah does not give guidance to the people who disbelieve.
