Nine lines relate to the topic and yet the editor did not see the need to change it.

This world not make the grade at any primary school but its good for our newspapers.

Is the political divide so entrenched (as in the trenches of the Somme (circa WW1)that we assail the gatekeeper of the 4th estate? A newspaper may choose to be conservative/liberal; far right /far left on any or all issues, however it remains a powerful legitimate canard preceding the broad air foils on the airship "nation " The profile of deltaa winged with leading canards come to mind 9e.g., French mirage. \

The jig is on the consumer to 'read betwixt the lines" in much the same way as the normous Blue Whale sifts through its diet of near microscopic krill.
Perhaps a better analogy is like that of a navigator utilizing a sextant to read the everchanging horizon. The reader is the navigator, the horizon tis the news media and the heavenly bodies are the vents of our world.
Overall 9with the rare exceptions like vintage 'Le Monde" of Paris or Cubas 'Granma' most editorial (the echief editor) are middle of the road or slightly conservative (as in taking risks).

Therefore in this instance we must appreciate any macro lenses that can go places press pass) that we -Joe / Jane Public) are restricted.

Isn't this "collaborative inquiry" raison d'etre" for consumer blogging?

We need not throw out the baby with the baby water n'est pas?
