Ismaeel,

You mentioned a number of factors that may lead to a life of crime; lack of opportunity to provide for one's self and family tops the list. Your ability to write or be illiterate is a direct product of your parent's ability to have loved, clothed, and provided food and housing for you as you attended school.

The reality is there are too many families unable to provide the fundamentals of family life to avoid the looming pitfalls of ignorance and mis-education. What would you do if you were unable to feed your wife and children? Your six-month baby crying because of hunger, and you saw that banana tree on Borie's land? Of course none of us would seal, we would simply ask Borie to employ us; problem solved! right? In the USA there are a few governmental program that provides comprehensive care for such conditions; the acronym W.I.C. comes to mind.

Et tu, Brute?,"and you, Brutus?"

Why is the question of crime receiving such resounding condemnation today? Is it because you and the politicians really care about Crime, or as you mentioned, THE TOURIST DOLLAR?

What a truck-load of HYPOCRITES.

There is a place
on the top of a hill
where everyone can see
where our children never learn to cry
our hearts bleed its crimson milk
never fed their anguished emptiness.

This place of rough-iron and steal
where the keys never rust
there, their learn to love the lawless life
there, their learn to hate their lifeless youth.

This place of incarceration
where boys take speed into
rough-riders manhood,
manhood, of the gangster system,
where sleepless musky nights are heard
and growls are silent within.

This place where rough-up,
boys turn to men, develop in body and might
harden hearts and simper screw-up faces
their condolence to society.

A place, in our hearts
full of void this place on the hill
never void has taken our
children captive
to full our empty hearts.

The breast that never fed
our sickly child
now drip, now waste,
to feed heartaches and pain.

Now dry!

Carl you made some good points we must not allow our country to be dictated by foreign countries . We are more democratic than some of these countries and have more human rights , also we are not a racist state.

In Texas criminals are being hang like a butcher hang meat for sale. We can not allow such criminal elements
In our society to hold law obiding persons in this society to be held hostage. China and the US are great trading partners and execute it criminals by firing squad and the international bodies accept .

If a sound and tough message not sent this time around, well, I'll say goodbye to St. Lucia for good.

The criminals who set fire at the Cathedral and in the process murdered a Nun and a Priest and many suffered third degree burns, are still enjoying life with three meals a day, free medical, a warm bed at night, never said they were sorry.

Don't let the Privy Council make a mockery of this society. If a strong lesson is to be sent, then send it. HANG THE BASTARDS.

The same day Roger Pratt was murdered, two other people were killed.

You blood-thirsty Lucians have no idea who they are and don't even care. I am sure you don't know their names and truly don't care. We all know why; they were Black-a-Lucians.

You sick self-hating Black men acted the same shameful way when the Canadian Peter was murdered. you all started wailing, "Oh sweet Jesus, we lucian no good, Jesus we in trouble lord Jesus we kill the white man, Lucian bad we done".

once the shameful behavior was acted out, you went back to the same old fratricide.

I don't know what is wrong with you self-hating Negroes, when one of your children are murdered, there is no press statement from Kenny, and no sadness or wailing in agony. Is your life worth anything? two-pence? nothing?

You folk make me sick.

Take note people. The American embassy in the Bahamas has alerted American citizens to be on heighten alert before they become the next casualty of crimes committed in the Bahamas. What are the implications and effects of this announcement.
