Micah, all this means nothing. The name of St. Lucia is dragging through mud by the misdeeds of some miscreants. The good lady is showing a brave face because she is a civilized person and holds no malice in her heart.
There are some here who in their Blogs, display racism and hatred toward all white, mulatto and christian people.
LES SACRE MISERABLES.
If the authorities fail to jump on this and stump on it before it gets out of hand, they will have themselves alone to blame for the break down of Law and Order, and an outbreak of outright Race war in the Country.
Let me say one thing, be careful, both CIA & MI5 are watching, if you keep playing footsies with racist and religious Bigots, you can kiss your Tourism Industry goodbye, and God help you.

Waving a flag and tell us that the government information service interviewed the lady and she said somethings which were different what was said before, means zilt!
The wise thing to have done is to ask the lady herself if what was said before differed with what she wrote while in VF.
I commend her taking the bait and make everyting look all nice and dandy. Sadly, this isn't the case.

Sincere condolences to Mrs Pratt. Hope she is aware that the wheels of justice in st Lucia grind very slowly. Of course she will experience kindness there in these dreadful circumstances, men are charged, and then sadly the process to trial will be interminable. The press may give the impression that all is progressing well but actually there will be brick walls to be hit - no forensic facilities, extremely long backlog of cases to be heard, shortage of judges, courts, lack of communication etc.
The powers that be need to stop passing the buck and address these issues. What about election promises? Whilst nothing is done there is no deterrent against performing such terrible acts. Just how many people can the prison accommodate? St Lucia's tourism will suffer. What is the future of the Atlantic yacht race?

Sad sad and sad.

Blogger#1 I applaud your concerns. They are the major points on the road to political rehabilitation for StLu. I concur wiYou speak truth. Intelligent folks like you are desperately needed to peacefully & respectfully advocate for major reform. We can be inspired by Ghandi & even the eloquent perseverance of the late King Hussein of Jordan. In his final years King Hussein stepped outside the comfort zone of his regal .... to plead for economic / political rights for the marginalized and to broker an international peace accord among warring neighbors.
St. Lucia needs smart differentiated levels of grass roots operations to get the largest cross section of population to seek equitable political reform. (Quick analogy:
The sharks are too many and the dolphins have fled, the coral is threatened by overgrazing /pollution/ careless disregard to vital conservation and sustainability -the once fertile reef (i.e, ST. Lucia) may go- pardon the metaphor- cannibalistic?

I pray that you continue to advocate and outreach to others for a return to decency and respect for ST. Lucia.

To the second posting refuting the kind remarks of the victim's wife- Please take a look at any map of St. Lucia- notice how VFort is like a Chalice; with Moule a-Cheque at the circular base, the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean separated at the stem (like an anticipated mutual kiss)and the rest of St. Lucia forming the the cup.

You completely neglected the lady's 'romantic' obsession with this splendid vista which prolonged her stay while increasing her posture as bait for opportunistic Tiger sharks Uum- homicidal maniacs. EVEN after the untimely death of her soul mate she revealed her adoration for this unique geophysical environ of Fair Helen-
I understand the romantic bliss
that this visitor evoked. I dove for lobster in these waters, I hunted birds in her surrounding wetlands -CoCoDan etc., I splashed in unabashed nudity with innocent glee enchanted by her moonlit beaches, I flew kites in her reliable sun kissed zephyr, I hiked Moule -a- Cheque and imagined that the Black Caribs of St Vincent visited regularly in their sea canoes- Alas, school boy vacations were never the same as in those vacant Beane Field days.
Your barren fund of acculturation immersion experiences is forgiven. You need to eavesdrop on a La Rose choral rehearsal or be amazed at the near operatic La Maguerite sopranos accepting the chanteuse challenges of their sister flower league. Have you ever consoled your classmate whose dad had a bad day at sea resulting in a meager catch and temporary financial depression? have you taken time to talk -pleasantly- with a senior citizen about their era when NURSES-Teachers And baton only Police officers formed the triangle of elevated honor in the communities they served.
commuof meaningful experience is with the once Simple Bountiful Beauty of Majestic Fair Helen-

I close with a Latrine Patrol Titanium gauntlet: Those who commit 'International" crimes that smear the Beauty & grace of Fair Helen on the common world Stage of negativity- thus eroding /threatening her potential economic livelihood & membership in the family of ethical law abiding nations - are akin to Cultural Saboteurs - NOT the type modeled by the French Resistance, Polish Underground et al, circa ww11!
These modern pirates are rapacious nihilists -nuff said

To concerned blogger warning of the powers of the dire consequences-loss of tourism -You are more than correct. Moreover, rescue of foreigners, sinking into crminal anarchy among others are reason enough to be surprised by Green Berets and or seals / Royal commandos suddenly occupying strategic areas of this extremely well mapped terrain- There will be no where to run -no where to hide.
Its been done in Grenada, Panama Dominican Republic-

Even the Queen's rep can summon a regiment or so with a detachment of Harrier VTOL fighter jets (it happened in Belize- albeit in defense against a rabid neighboring country). Hewanorra can manage a squadron of Tornado fighter -bombers. Combat training in tropical nirvana- I could see the chaps volunteering en masse- away from their frigid Black Sea sorties.

Look at Cuba -still under presidential executive order of enforced isolation- the excuse is simply, regional threat or destabilization. That's the buffet of potential consequences for any Caribbean state gravitating into the abyss or black hole of anarchy.

The strategic naval value of St.Lucia has increased - since the treaty of Versailles- what with its mid Caribbean gateway to the enlarged Panama Canal?
The difference between the long night of political oblivion and the sunny day of respectable self rule is a very short subliminal dawn.
Tallyho mon ami.

Romantic scenery don't mean anything if crime is allowed to destroy the image of the country. The land called fair helen is always going to be there but the character of those desposed to criminality must change.

The real truth is that, the customs department is being so politicized to the point that No one should believe anything...that comes from that department. What happen to, what was his name again?? Ohh St Helen!! Now all of certain we have a new Custom Chief, what's his name now?? Ohh Andy....!! What's his qualification again?? Years of experience!!!! I like the way damage control is being done here, soon the dead yacht man will rise from the dead to say that he was not murdered. May the Lord shine his light on SWEET HELEN ST LUCIA.

I cannot believe that the Lucian commoner is such a backward and disgraceful Black Samboe. Whenever a Caucasian is the victim of crime, these pathetic excuses for the African crawls out of every crack and crab-hole to perform the act of contrition. What is nauseating about this depravity is the total absence of such a display of agony and anguish whenever a Black-a-Lucian is murdered by criminal element in the society.

On the very day of the tragic murder of Roger Pratt, there were two other homicides on the island. While these pathetic and subservient self-hating Negro slaves have embarked on the “Way of The Cross” penance to prove to the world that they are a bunch of black savages, who cannibalize each other with cutlasses and spears with impunity, these embarrassing excuses for Black men could not tell you the name of any of the five Black Lucians murdered in the first few weeks of January, and nor do they care.

Of course these self-hating Negroes are savage people with a White woman as their queen, and who worship a Naked White man as their God accepting themselves as inferiors to Caucasians. They fear that the Caucasian God would punish them by withholding the rain and striking then with thunder and lightening – the stamp of Savages. So they indulge in the consumption of Rum and Whiskey, and rank fifth in the World for greatest consumption of Alcohol, while fratricide is ubiquitous like the Piton Beer on this Robinson Crusoe island.

Just listen to this sick Black Negro Slave at 12:33 cry for his White god, I quote him:

"Let me say one thing, be careful, both CIA & MI5 are watching, if you keep playing footsies with racist and religious Bigots, you can kiss your Tourism Industry goodbye, and God help you."

I thought this type of Negro embarrassment was a relic of antiquity. Woe the CIA, and MI5, WE LUCIAN BAD, WE FINISH SWEET JESUS, HAVE MERCY LUCIAN NO GOOD, HE KILL WHITE MAN, PLEASE DON'T STARVE US HOUSE NIGGERS MASSA, WE BE GOOD SLAVES, WE ONLY KILL BLACK AFRICAN.

SORT MALAD, API SORT MOEDEEE.
