Shocked! I am shocked at this reflection of our society. I hope this young man has a quick recovery.
This is not the fault of this government or the previous government but a reflection of St. Lucian society from the top to the bottom inclusive of the useless political elites.
This guy obviously had his grudge against Debeauville before hand. You did replace him @ The Voice after all. I say file your criminal charges and sue him for everything he's got. vyay neg yon zyay!!
I am not shocked at all, because when i started reading the article and the attacker name was not mentioned yet. I knew it was the person whose name was mentioned. This guy is an ex convict, he has been to prison more than once, i am not sure of his offenses. At the prison he has tried to be a leader and influence the prisoners to uprising because he is a little more read than most of the other prisoners. I am speaking as someone who witness that, not from a hear say point of view.
This is an excellent opportunity to send this fool to jail again. I say file charges!
His name is ROBERTSON HENRY, Ex convict like Rufus Bousquet, He has been to jail for robbery , stealing, grievous harm and many other things. He went to jail about six times.
WHY ARE YOU ALL SHOCKED. YOU'LL FORGET THAT ROBERTSON WAS AN INMATE AT THE MASSSADE BOYS IN THE LATE 70'S AND 80'S? WHAT MAKES YOU ALL BELIEVE HE HAS CHANGED. THIS GUY IS USED TO A VIOLENT LIFE STYLE. IT DID NOT BEGIN ON SUNDAY. HE HAS ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES.
This guy has a violent temper. A few years ago I had an encounter with him which could have resulted in a fight but for my control of self. I am not shocked or surprise. My only surprise and disappointment is that we have such individuals working in the media.
This is a relection of the general populace.
Why, the same are being done by government big shots, who maimed their girl friends, tax evaders, under-invoicing of imported goods, ministers giving their friends and buddies favourtism as in the case of Robby-ronyism. So this general attitude is being filtered from the top to the bottom.

Robertson is an asshole -- plain and simple...
What's the big deal about Massade? This place has been home for many young men. Some are now prominent. Example:Tim and his brother (John) and the other Tim in the media. Check it out.
Robertson was there and also in prison. But he has a violent temper and a history of assault. Not good at all for an amateur boxer.
But Lucians must stop being hyprocrite. Flavia beat a woman unconscious yet we adore her. Tim hides his past therefore he fails to inspire others. Both aspire to become role models, opinion makers, but hide their background and play politics.
Robertson has always been a thug. Why are we so surprise? This guy has no business working for any media house.
As a Saint Lucian leaving abroad,I find that kind of callous behaviour embarassing to all Saint Lucians. We must not tolerate such despicable, outrageous and obviously wicked and evil behaviour, from persons generally, far less, those who profess to be representing the public.Worst yet, such demonic actions in full view of strangers/guests in our homeland.
Saint Lucians will and are learning the very hard way, of standing up for what is right, and opposing what is wrong, regardless of whom is involved. It is the absence of this, that has caused the pain and utter suffering, you, my fellow Saint Lucians are currently experiencing, and only you, each one of you, can turn Saint Lucia around, by your actions. Stand up for what is rigt. Oppose what is wrong. Be intolerant to what is Evil. PRAYERS out of the mouths, without ACTION, will NEVER WORK.
Regardless of anything anyone may say to someone else,no one has any right to attack another's person. I hope our NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, plays HIS part, in ensuring that JUSTICE IS SERVED, and the INEFFICENT COURT, in SAINT LUCIA, is closely watched, so that this case does not go down the drain. Our POLICE FORCE, does its best but the DISTRICT COURT, particularly the FIRST DISTRICT COURT needs urgent revamping.

Disgusting, ill-bred, fit for the dung house, are just a few words that come to mind, when I read the article.Before I even read the name of the villain,he came to mind, based on the behaviour which was described in the article. The very VOICE NEWSPAPER, has its own responsibility to ensure that this villain, is severly punished for this sub-human behaviour. If he cannot live among human beings, then he must be ostracized. It is noone's problem, that the mothers who birth them or for that matter, whoever brought such people-up, or shall I say, dragged these people up, grow up with a serious low-self esteem problem, and harbour jealousy and envy, towards others. LET HIM FIND HIS MOTHER AND FATHER AND EXPRESS HIS FEELINGS TO THEM. DAMN THIS MAN. THIS TIME HE MUST SIT AT BORDELAIS UNTIL HE IS TOO OLD TO SEE WHERE HE IS GOING. People the bottom line is, Robertson Henry has been to that dirty, shitty hole at bridge street many times, now he is hearing how clean and new Bordelias is, and he want to be at that place, so he did that in the full view of even the highest officials of the country, so he could be taken to Bordelais, the place he love and enjoy being very much. All the man friends he grew up with at Massade and HMP are at Bordelais you know. The man has no friends on the outside, so i cannot blame him. Some people fell more comfortable in prison, than on the outside and Robertson is one of them.
Mr. DeBeauville,I wish you a speedy recovery. We will lift you up in prayer.What has happened to you, seems to have all the ugly characteristics of a human,exhibiting sub-human traits, coupled with exceedingly low self-esteem, serious character flaws like envy and jealousy.He will certainly reap what he has sown. With that based behaviour, only evil, torment and damnation can follow him. This man is clearly a tormented soul. It shows all over his being. The rats who employed him in such sensitive areas when they had every reason to know, from his general behaviour and deportment for sometime now, are to take much blame as well. Those bloody RATS in high places.Let him be damned!
I just hope they find a cell BIG enough to contain Robertson's inflated ego.
We cannot blame Robertson, we all know the man has one eye, so when he open the only eye he has, he saw himself in the prison yard, so he attack Debeauville thinking him to be a prisoner, just as they do it in the prison yard, they attack the weaker prisoners for no reason. The man is day dreaming of being in prison, the place he love. Only a person who love and want to be in prison will commit such a senseless crime.

Next time you see a mad dog go play with it, just like when you saw one-eyed, jailbird Robertson Henry and played with him.
It is interesting reading these comments for again we only see what we want to see.
If I am to use the readers' yardstick, then Debeauville should be judged by that same yardstick for hsi treatment of women.
Can he tell us why his first wife left him - was it because of abused and failure to support his children?
Why did his second wife who worked with the OECS in Saint Lucia and had to return to her native land of Dominica?
Was it due to abuse of his second wife and that she use to support him till her family intervened and had her to return home and subsequently file for divorced in Dominica?
I was not party to the incident but to date, the many persons I have spoken to, do not corroborate Debeauville's statements about use of a camera.
As for Robertson going to prison, how many in society have gone to prison for crimes they did not commit; how many have not been arrested for crimes they committed, and how many are encouraged in their criminal activities by those who want to lambaste Robertson for being in prison.
If one can go to prison and fight to survive in this nasty society of ours I applaud them.
Does that give persons a right to abuse them or threaten them?
lets be realistic here and stop the many causes of societal misbehavior in this country
