By now everybody should be able to see that the real PM in St. Lucia is NOT the one that was sworn in as PM. That was very obvious in the recent budget debates.

The next government needs to break up that evil and GARRISON CONSTITUENCY as soon as possible.

What continues to amaze me is how people like Jeanine Compton and Eziekel Joseph can still remain in that party.

In condemning this government caution must be exercised. There's no need to incite others to act foolishly. This quiet notion that the SLP is the only party divinely ordained by god to rule over St Lucia FOR EVER is FRIGHTENING in every sense of the word. It convey's that you must be a member of the SLP to truely love your country.
St Lucians should be very weary of those peddling this garbage. For example, we all want to get to heaven, yet most of us belong to different religions. Does it mean that millions in other religions of the world do not love god and won't get to heaven? Why is it different with St Lucian politics? The last I heard St Lucia was still a democracy. We all want what is best for our country.
This kinds of intellectual dishonesty is a threat to the social, political and economic harmony in the country. It's no wonder that perfectly good people are lead astray with this empty rhetoric. They become the poster child for political intolerance and hate.
The only thing is that they are not even fully aware that they being used to further the interest of an elite grouping within their party.
St Lucia is at a critical stage at this moment. It needs ST LUCIANS and not flag waving partisan hypocrites to save it. This isn't jihad. This is about a 238 sq mile island badly in need of every citizen of all shades, colour, class and creed and with ideas to move it along.
Back to the issue at hand. In the history of the country no party has ever won an elections without Central Castries in the mix. It's a tall order for all those who want to form the next government. We can safely say that should Richard Frederick go on to win Central Castries again, that the UWP remains in power.

The first 4 or 5 years I spent in America, I told averone i spoke with about the beauty of our island and the people. I advised them all to visit for themselves, and many of them did.

You can't call the people of St Lucians all of those insulting names and yet expect they are going to vote SLP. You people are doing a deservice to the SLP. A lot of viewers are making note of this angry and hostile comments. You are not helping the SLP by kicking constantly the people of St Lucian in their heads. Kenny is not everybodies cup of tea, in the same way that Richard Frederick isn't everybodies cup of tea. St Lucians still right that right to decide who and what they want. Out of respect for the 2 bloggers after mine, I will admit that the last part of my piece was deliberately put there to infuriate the previous SLP Hate mongers.
However, any reasonable person with the knowledge of where St. Lucia was before Compton, and where he was able to take us was a phenominal feat.
No he was not perfect. But when I listen to all of this hateful nonsence, it kills all the love and hope that I once had for my country.
I am old enough to remember those earlier political times. In fact, my first recollection of anything political, was the SLP demonstration in 1969. I ran all the way from the Anglican school to the sfety of my home. Yet still, I was just a child and prone to fears of anything loud and intimidating. However, as I got older, I came to understand that people differed in opinions and that they demonstrated their opposition in different ways. That destructive hatred for all who opposed though, is something new to St. Lucia.
Like the last blogger said, St. Lucia does seem to be cursed, but i am not surprised. If you take into account our entire social existance seems to revolve aroung anything and everything that is vile and utterly evil. Yet we would make excuses for them at the drop of a hat. And woe unto anyone who would dare suggest that these things are wrong and sinful.
Politics is not and will never be the answer to our ills. As long as St. Lucia continues to hate God and the people and things of God, there is no hope. History will attest to the fact that "Hedinistic" societies have always perished in their own filth. It breeds lawlessness and total moral bankruptcy.
I will continue to pray for St. lucia, but as for coming home to try to help, I am not convinced that this is prudent. The last decade has shown that anyone, no matter how pristine, who enters St. Lucian politics will be filthy in the first month; especially if they do not support the SLP.

IAKM, you could remember the peaceful demonstration of the in the 1979, but you must learn the history of the foreign man you loved so much. When Compton wanted to enter politics, he pretended to be a unionist representing the farm workers in the Mabouya valley. He did not only caused the workers to demonstrate, but he caused riots in the valley, hence the reason they had to open a police station in La Caye. This was the first time in St Lucia we had a police station in a Village. So Compton is not the saint you want to make us believe he is.
It's comments like these about Compton that is pushing me to vote for that new party LLM. SLP and their supporters are a complete turn off as far as I am concern. I feel as if these people want to twist people hands to vote for SlP. As a long time UWP supporter I am not looking to leave one messed up party for another. There are just too many rabbid dogs in there for me.

The worst political violence in all of St Lucia was done by the Labour. You all forget 1979? When labour use to beat people in the streets and throw poop and urine on the opposite side? Why are you all suprise at the anger? It's a sign of desperation. It's the only thing they understand. Where did you read anybody told you to vote for the SLP? You can vote for anybody you want, but we must learn to speak the truth on this board. Many people came to listen, then go home afterwards peacefully, they chanted phrases like " backward never, forward ever" "De hardest had" etc,etc. I use to attend most of these meeting there was no violence as you said. The only time there was a riot was when Compton who was so hated by the people, after he lost the election came the William Peter Boulvard to have a meeting. How can we prove who started the riot, if it as an SLP supporter or a UWP supporter. There were both UWP and SLP supporters there.
UWP did not start the riot in 1979. It is the hateful words of the SLP inciting people to hate that started it. What country do you think we were living in -in 1979? Iraq? Compton had the right to keep a meeting to talk to his supporters. He did not need approval from supporters of the SLP to do that. You understand why the country is where it is today? This kind of violent talk is what started it all. Disrespect for authority is what you all thought St Lucias young people in the 1970s.
You cannot prove who started the riot, because the UWP had just lost the election by a large margin, and they were the ones that was angry. Who spoke the hateful words? It was a UWP meeting so if there was any hateful words spoken it was the UWP who spoke it at their meeting. The SLP do not have meetings at the Boulvard. So want us to believe it is only SLP supporters that are disrespectful, commit crimes and go to prison in St Lucia and all UWP supporters are Saints and Angels. Think before you write, i know you desperate but at least you can make some sense.

St. Lucia has a shambolic government. Criminals are paraded as role models on national TV. Crooks are our parliamentarians. Known excons and jailbirds are our MPs.
Ask Kenny. The entire Cabinet, each one of them, except Joseph is tainted by the collective responsibility of cabinet principle, on the court ruling on that Tuxedo Affair. That is unless Joseph dumps the UWP country wreckers before the next election.

ALL the SLP candidates are professionals who all left their lucrative jobs to serve their country, most of them could demand a regional or international job.
