Does LIAT have an in-house operations research team? I have not heard of one ever for this carrier. However, absence of such a team does negatively impact operational performance, operational flexibility, and scheduling.
When it is considered that Barbados does represent a hub, the fact that spare parts were not in place there suggests that certain aspects of operational planning and logistics were lacking.
