Too much of the country's wealth goes to pay the government bureaucracy. If there was more money to spread around, there would be hope, and with hope, comes opportunity to align with society's values.

This is a very, very well written article, and I definately agree with you when you point out that first offenders, especially young teenagers, should be given probation and community work, in lieu of prison time, as prison can all but cripple a young person's future, especially in a small country as our. Of course, I agree with this, only for certain crimes.
But I also feel that prison can only be a set back to those who want to make it a set back. Those who may be unlucky to end up in prison for a first offense which may or may not have occured because of any real malice, something that I would consider more a misfortune than a mistake, they quickly realize that they have a life ahead of them, and the past is quickly put behind them, and they move on to become premier citizens in our little state. As it is said. "A man's character is made by him, and not for him". I believe that I am a perfect example of that.

YOUNG, YOUNG, i was young and never mug anyone and i am sure when you was young, you never mug anyone, not only should he be in prison, his left hand should be cut
so he will always remember what he has done .
