An independent should run for that district, anyway the PM should visit there ASAP.

Oldfred should run.

both ole fred and his political leader have issues...

Run Freddie, run! Way to go.

#1, what will an independent be ale to do for the people, given our governmental structure? He will just sit on the opposition benches gaining a salary. By the way you are not updated with events happening in St Lucia. The PM just visited the Valley when Nicholas was missing in action, what good did his visit do?

An independent don't have to seat on no opposition bench collecting a salary. He or she is there to work with those who has the agenda of the country at He/She don't have to walk no party line. The only line he/she walks is that of the people who elected him/her. Perhaps if we had more people like this in the country St Lucia might have been a better place. I don't know of one independent in the world that's not flexible or inflexible.

The new dispensation should be such that these independent candidates form investment clubs within their constituency to develop their constituences. And do like marcus: go overseas to to look for funds to assist your people. It is time that we move away from the notion that if you are not in government you cannot help your people.

I agree 100%.

People, people, people, let us be realistic, if you are not in government where will you get the money to travel overseas, will you you take it from you pocket to do the people business? Can you prove that Marcus got any money from his trip? Marcus gave us so many different reasons why he was overseas, who will believe him? "The only line you must walk is that of the people who elected you." I wander how will that help the people, by by being around them every day? I have never heard any funding institution giving individual politician any funding, if they are not in a party who will be in office one day, to support that funding agency one day.

It is time to start thinking outside the box bro.

Our problem in St Lucia is that we depend too much on government. People time to have some smarts. Government is not the only answer to solving problems.

Anonymous said...

We have made governments invincible.

Gosh, Oldfred has done it again! He has messed up a good issue. Just like a typical wannabe politician. Don't you see how funny he looks, dressed up so impecably in black suit to attempt to discuss grassroots issues.

All those who aspire to political office must start some where. The gentlemen like all wannabe's who serve in government today have that right. Nothing wrong in being a "wannabe". If you don't h have the swag don't shake your tail.

Anonymous said...

The person who spoke about "thinking outside the box," i want to know what does that mean, and how can that happen?

Anonymous said...

"thinking outside the box" means that if you have been tying your right shoe lace first, start tying your left shoe lace first.

As simple as that. For example, if you beilieved that government is the only means of getting assistance for your community, stop that thought, and research the internet where you will discover other sources.

Now do not go and mashup all the boxes in your office or your home.

I like this guy. At least he is admiting his ignorance on issues. There's a chance that he can learn a thing or two.

You don't have to be proud to admit u don't know what something means.

I do not know what is wrong with my St Lucian people, talking nonsense and criticizing other people because they are the only ones who know all and are not ignorant. Thinking outside the box, tying your left and right shoe lace, do not mash up boxes and and that whole lot of crap. That person know all the sites to get help for the community, I do not know why he or she does not sauce these agencies and help their communities, instead of wanted others to do it for him. O boy there is so many easy ways countries can get help, they just have to go on the internet, so why do we have so many problems in ALL the countries, if it is so easy to get help? I do not think the people of Haiti have a access to these sites. As you said i need to learn something, please list these sites for all to see, if you are interested in us seeking funding to help the communities.

I understand your frustration with the reply of the contributor. But then, aren't you making a mole out of a mountain?

The fact is no one should totally rely on government to solve our problems. It's a fact.

There is so much anger in the country. No wonder.

Where has "laughter" gone to?

Anonymous said...

You cannot blame people in being frustrated after we have so may problems in St lucia in terms of the economy, people are losing their jobs everyday, the government is not performing, on top of that they are creating scandals after scandals. How you ant people of St lucia to laugh and be happy when mostly every week people are being killed murdered, for little or no reason, People are living in fear in the country. By the way i am still waiting for the sites which provide free or easy funding for anyone who wants.

I like de man garcon, he want to see who looks worse in a suit him or Marcus? Dennery North was given Labour best choice in Damian they preferred a vagabond. Well Freddie, try your luck, you never know with these people in the Gulf.

Anonymous said...

Try a thing Fred. No one can stop you. You are not coming to grab. You are coming to help.

Yes, they all say the same thing but give them a seat and things change.

change is what we need in the country. As far as I am concern once the person prove he or she is about change I don't a problem with this. Somebody must do the job.
