Anonymous said...: My sentiments, almost. This is a frightful time in America. In his quiet moments, President Obama must worry deeply about America's future. More white Americans are packing guns now than ever before; more open threats of violence are being voiced against The Minority-in-Chief and the rest of his ilk than at any other time since the Civil Rights era. That Idiot-in-Chief of Talk Radio, Rush Limbaugh is openly urging those opposed to the Obama Administration to "wipe these guys out". Sarah Palin is running an ad that places cross-hairs on 10 Democrats who reversed their stance and supported the Heath Care Bill.

It's only a matter of time before the lid comes off. And it will not be pretty.

As Charles Blow of the New York Times noted today (March 27th) , what is really driving this rage is the sudden realization among the "lunatic white fringe" that the demographics in America has changed so dramatically that within the next decade Minorities will be in the "majority" in America. It's all about racism pure and simple.

Thanks to the ubiquitous presence and reach of today's technology, the rest of the world now has an unprecedented look into the workings of Government in America. And it has become clearer now than ever before that the USA is fast becoming an example to avoid rather than a model to follow.

Healthcare - Obamacare- socialised medicine. The Democrats lied that Obamacare would over the next 10 years knock over $100 billion from the deficit.
When the facts are checked and you deduct the lies such as "savings from medicare/medicade" , savings from doctors, etc the real figure is that Obamacare will COST over $500 billion.

This is the kind of lie that Josie and his type have fooled us with from the time of Haitian independence.

The light that shines on Barack Obama as president has reflected back an image that bears very little similarity to the iconic visage that floated above us all in 2008. Why has Barack Obama betrayed so many allies, broken so many promises, thrown so many pledges and people under the bus?

One simple aphorism (paraphrasing Winston Churchill) can explain it all. Barack Obama is no longer a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. Much about his past remains murky, but faced with the need to govern, he has given the American people plenty of evidence of his nature...if only they will look.

Obama is a cynic wrapped in a hypocrite inside a bully.

This comes as a shock to many, who are dismayed to find that he is "just a politician," as Reverend Wright, Jr. (who knows him so well) called him back in 2008. But Wright was being all too kind and generous to his future former parishioner (Wright followed a long and ever-growing line of people trampled by Barack Obama's rise.)

But Barack Obama is far more than just a politician. We all swallow a lot from politicians; we know that many pander and narrowcast, changing their message to suit their audience. But Obama expressly campaigned as a man who would not do this. He was the candidate of hope and change -- he would bring a big broom to sweep clean the Augean Stables known as Washington, D.C. He called forth the better angels of our nature (hat tip: Honest Abe Lincoln, one of the truly honest politicians from Illinois) and tapped into a deep yearning for the rarest of the real things: an honest leader.

A cynic

Obama defined his campaign with high-sounding rhetoric that "[his] rival in this race is not other candidates, but cynicism." The line resonated and soon became his mantra.

He later asked us to fight cynicism and revealingly told us that cynics believe they are smarter than everyone else. To this it could be said that Obama knows what that is like.

Could there be anything more cynical than to look upon Americans as being too forgetful to remember all the broken promises Obama made?

These include -- but are not limited to -- a promise that there would be no health care mandates (there are); that he would take a scalpel to the budget and bring down the deficit (headed towards the stratosphere as he rewards his own special interest groups); and that he would end earmarks (his spending bills are polluted by them; he is, after all, a Chicago politician).

He promised to close Gitmo -- not a done deal, and like many deadlines he promised, no one is sure when or if this will happen.; March 28, 2010 at 7:43 AM

He stated that he would fight the gay marriage ban, but instead he ended up supporting it, in effect, by defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

He promised the most transparent administration in history, but instead he imposes layers of secrecy and invokes executive powers to cloak his administration from scrutiny (e.g., his use of executive privilege to protect Desiree Rogers, his social secretary, from questioning regarding the WhiteHouseGate-crashers).

We were promised that if we passed the stimulus bill under Barack Obama's presidency, then the unemployment rate would drop below 8% by now -- and here we are, during Christmas season, cruising along at a solid 10% (17% if we include the underemployed and those who left the workforce because they saw no prospects of landing a job).

We were promised that the anti-Bush would restore respect for America around the world and bring international comity. Instead, he has alienated our allies and empowered our adversaries -- a dynamic that has brought all but zero benefits to America (very little cooperation in Afghanistan, on "climate change," or on Iran's nuclear program). While he may have snagged himself a Nobel Peace Prize, the leaders of the world are increasingly treating him, and America, with disrespect and contempt.

The betrayals are so breathtaking and widespread (all of his promises have an expiration date) that all one can surmise is that the ultimate cynic is the One who campaigned against cynicism.

We can sense that Obama is a cynic by referring back to his own definition: someone who thinks he is smarter than everyone else.

We have abundant evidence of this derisive attitude.

I think that I'm a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I'll tell you right now that I'm gonna think I'm a better political director than my political director.
Obama had the ego to think he was better than the key experts playing roles in his victory: He is apparently smarter than his policy directors and political directors, and he's a better speechwriter to boot.

We know how Obama feels about small-town Americans: They are bitter yokels who cling to guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment. But he has additionally demeaned a wide range of other Americans (doctors, cops, Special Olympics contestants, and many more, as you can see via the Insulter-in-Chief). As Barack Obama has intoned, words matter.

Yes, they do Mr. President, especially in the days of YouTube, Google, and the internet. These are the tools the common folk can tap to remember your promises -- and your breaking of them.

These are the videos we can watch instead of the redacted versions put out by your pals and accomplices in the media --those versions scrubbed clean of your malapropisms, mistakes, stammering, evasions, and most importantly, your broken promises. Only a cynic would think of us as being too forgetful or ignorant to recognize the Big Lie.

Only a certifiable cynic would consider the American people so unperceptive as to not recognize the wide gap between the image and the reality, the promises made and broken, the differences between the smiling visage on the Shepard Fairey posters (themselves a fraud -- how symbolic!) and the hectoring, finger-pointing, vengeful curmudgeon we now have in the Oval Office.

A hypocrite

The hypocrisy knows no bounds, either.

A hypocrite decries the role of money in politics and then breaks his promise to accept public financing for his presidential campaign (because he could see the money rolling in) while his challenger kept his promise to abide by the campaign law he himself created. Was there a certain degree of cynicism displayed there by Obama, knowing McCain was hoisted on his own petard?

A hypocrite preaches that he will bring us together as a people and heal our wounds when he wants our votes -- but after he wins, he practices the politics of polarization and declares that he wants not "to quell people's anger," but to channel it.

Only a hypocrite would campaign on a platform of bringing us together ("we are one people," "this was the moment -- this was the time -- when we came together to remake this great nation," "there is no red America, there is no blue America," etc.) and then stoke the very polarization that he promised would end in the Age of Obama. His guru, Saul Alinksy, would be happy that his Rules for Radicals has become the blueprint for how the president can run, and ruin, a great nation.

Only a hypocrite would engage in as many baldfaced lies as our president has over the past few years. The end of lobbyists? Balderdash. In fact, as a Politico headline noted, "Lobbyists are on pace for a record year."

And what is a lobbyist? What is the meaning of the term when Andy Stern, head of the Service Employees International Union, is such a frequent visitor to the White House that he might as well sublet some space in the Lincoln Bedroom? Obama decried the politics of fear during the campaign and then employed the same as president -- as he did when he had the audacity to predict the "bankruptcy" of America should ObamaCare not pass. Or, before that, he augured the collapse of the economy should the stimulus bill not pass. When every bill becomes a do-or-die proposition, is that not playing the politics of fear?

Is it hypocritical to tout that tax dollars are not "monopoly money" and that we "can't continue to spend as if deficits don't have consequences" while engaging in irresponsible profligacy that would make Nero blanch? (Obama has a history of problems with his own credit standing, but now he is playing with our money.)

Does he think others are too stupid -- the belief that most defines a cynic -- to realize that his deficit-plagued budgets are a sure way to penury for us and our children and grandchildren?

Decrying fat cats while calling up a jet for a trip to Manhattan and a stroll down the Great White Way of Broadway? Taking jaunts to Copenhagen to try to snag the Olympics for his hometown pals in Chicago, who, no doubt, were hoping to snag some lucre? That's the Chicago Way. One could go on.

A bully

All this cynicism and hypocrisy is wrapped up and empowered by the other notable feature of Barack Obama: Our president is a bully.

Among the many examples: demeaning "fat cats" and telling Wall Street bankers that he is the only one standing between them and the pitchforks; telling a recalcitrant Democratic Congressman that they'd better toe the line because "we are keeping score, brother"; belittling allies, such as the Israelis, by telling them they need to be more self-reflective; trying to impose a left-wing lunatic dictator wanna-be on the innocent people of Honduras; dissing Eastern Europeans by not giving them a respectful warning that he was going to break a promise to them regarding missile bases in their nations; and forcing British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to grovel in a kitchen in order to have a few words with the President of the United States. (This treatment is attributable, speculates the Wall Street Journal, to some personal bad will between Great Britain and some Kenyan ancestors of Barack Obama. The man knows how to hold an ancestral grudge -- even if it means the rest of America suffers from slighting one of our formerly most treasured allies).

A bully is someone who can justify his actions by bragging that "I won." Whatever happened to the slogan "Yes we can"? Whatever happened to the "new kind of politics"? Well, they're so 2008.

A bully is someone who taunts, "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun."

A bully is someone who runs roughshod over not only his opponents (politics can be a blood sport, after all), but also the Constitution -- as Obama has from almost day one of the One. Even health care reform has come under scrutiny for violating the Constitution.

There is a cliché in Washington: that all one needs to know about politics can be learned on the playground. But perhaps Obama's street-smart education was learned on the basketball court -- where height reigns (and there is no higher office in America), and where trash-talk is used to demoralize and defeat.

The FACTS are these:

(i) The financial meltdown of 2008 to the present was not caused by Obama but by the ill-advised policies of G.W Bush who created a deregulated environment that allowed his friends on Wall Street to make merry at the expense of taxpayers, paying themselves huge salaries and bonuses; creating shell companies like Enron; and allowing a little understood mechanism like derivatives to ruin the housing market;

(ii) The vast majority of economists in the US and around the world agree that Obama had to act to the stop the recession from turning into a depression;

(iii) virtually ALL major Governments decided that the best way to avert a depression was to increase the money supply; in fact it was the UK Government that lead the way with bank bailouts; in the USA this strategy has worked and virtually all of the large banks have repaid the TARP loans they've received;

(iv) there is a huge difference between the debt incurred during Obama's watch and those incurred under Bush - the latter which was poured into a totally unnecessary war to remove Saddam, who like the Taliban was propped up by the likes of H.W Bush and who was actually given chemical weapons like Mycotoxin to use in his battles against Iran. It is farcical that the USA saw no need to remove him whe he was at his most menacing (even after he had used the chemical weapons on the Kurds) and sought to remove him with LIES only when he had been well and truly defanged;

(v) it is not the democrats that predicted health Care would reduce the defict by $130 billion in 10 years; it is the bipartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) - The Right had no problem quoting the CBO's earlier analyses on earlier versions of the Bill which showed negative impacts on the defict;

(vi) the Health Care Bill contains over 90 Repubican ideas;

(vii) Obama's vow to close Gitmo is still active - the only reason he hasn't fulfilled this pledge as yet is because of the obstructionism of The Right (who object to his plans to house the detainees on US soil) and understandable procedural challenges in getting other countries to accept hundreds of innocent detainess who should not have been held in the first place;

(viii) G.W's hawkish belligerence over 8 years (which included threats to invade or bomb Iran did not convince it to abandon its nuclear ambitions. Instead of tackling the Iranians he went after poor old Saddam instead;

(ix) there is absolutely no evidence that Obama has alienated the USA from its allies; there is bountiful evidence that the opposite has happened;

(x) the lack of movement on Climate Change is not Obama's fault but again is due to the tactics of The Right who believe cliamte change is a myth or who do not want to commit US business to curb their greenhouse emmissions;

(xi) Anonymous has cherry-picked news from Sunday press and has misrepresented others. He gives Obama no credit for reaching a deal with the Russians on arms control; instead he cites AT&T's provisioning for healthcare which will be amortized over time. He makes no mention too of the fact the the vast majority of the businesses in America, especially small business favor the bealth care bill;

The financial meltdown was cause primarily by the Democrats in Congress (and during Clinton's Presidency) relaxing the rules of lending for mortgages and forcing banks to leds trillions to those who could not afford the mortgages.
This was all part of the Democrats victimhood playacting to get blacks to vote for them.

The subprime crisis was just that , a crisis because lending was made to those who could not afford it. These poor mortages were then repackaged by the insurance companies to get rid of the risk and sold off to other entities. When the Democratic Party forced morgages failed the whole systen crashed.

When Bush tried to pass laws to curb the lending the homosexual Democrat Barney Frank whoses boyfriend was working with Freddie and Fannie stopped Bush and said there was nothing wrong with the loans.
Then it all fell down.

80% or eight out of ten (for idiot liberals who do not know facts or figures)of the Wall Street thieves who helped to collapse the system SUPPORTED Barrack Obama for President. They now absolutely regret giving him millions of dollars but they have to learn. Elections have consequences.

The fact is that when Obama and the Democratc realized that they would be over 1/2 trillion at least in further debt with Obamacare they presented to the CBO, versions of their bill that left out costs that were put in another bill and they doublecounted so called "savings" of $500 billion from existing Medicare and Medicade.

The CBO can only count what they were given and as everyone except for the braindead know , Obama and the Democrats presented a smoke and mirrors set of assumptions and sleighs of hand for the CBO to score.

The Democrats have tried to change the subject away from their health care debacle by claiming that conservatives are threatening violence against them. Their complaints are pathetic where they are not OUT AND OUT LIES (e.g., Clyburn and Lewis), and they have taken a lot of well-deserved criticism. It is liberals, not conservatives, who rely on ad hominem attacks, outrageous allegations and violent imagery.

I remember a particularly sorry episode of liberal violence that, for some reason, has not gotten much attention: the 2008 Republican convention in St. Paul.

I attended the convention and remember the terrorist acts that were carried out by anti-Republican protesters very well. They threw bricks through the windows of buses, sending elderly convention delegates to the hospital. They dropped bags of sand off highway overpasses onto vehicles below. Fortunately, no one was killed.

These were anti-Bush and anti-Republican protesters. Is it a stretch to think that some of them, at least, may have been inspired by over-the-top, hateful attacks on the Bush administration by Democratic Congressmen, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Michael Moore, who was a guest of honor at the Democrats' own convention, various show business personalities, and many other leading liberal figures? I don't think so. We haven't seen that sort of hate campaign since the Democrats went after Abraham Lincoln. It seems unlikely that none of the "protesters" who tried to commit murder were inspired by those liberal voices.

Yet, hardly anyone seems to be aware of the violence that took place in 2008. At most, the story was treated with a ho-hum attitude in the liberal/progressive press. For some reason, political violence was not a concern less than two years ago.

Yet today, we can hardly imagine what would happen if a group of tea partiers were to drop sandbags off a highway overpass, trying to kill motorists below. Liberal reporters' heads would explode. But this is exactly what anti-Republican Party protesters did in 2008, and no one cared. To my knowledge, not a single Democratic politician condemned this anti-Republican violence or attempted in any way to distance the Democratic Party from it.

Keep that in mind next time you hear a Democrat whining about the Republican effort to "fire Nancy Pelosi."

We should not expect him to be given any credit by the Party of NO - the Party whose definition of the right to life, extends only to the unborn and not to the 40 million Americans who have no healthcare and the thousands who die every year because they're unable to afford skyrocketing insurance premiums.

We shouldn't expect THE RIGHT to give our President credit for reaching a substantial arms reduction deal with Russia within the first 14 months of his Presidency. They will not give him credit for saving taxpayers nearly $1.5 billion by cutting the wasteful F-22 fighter plane from the Air Force's fleet. Here we had a plane that required 30 hours of maintenance for every hour of flying yet there were many on the RIGHT and some on the left - including Kennedy and Kerry - who wanted to keep these planes in production. Obama saved the paxpayers money by meeting the cost of redecorating the White House from his own pocket. The RIGHT will not give him credit for that. But they saw nothing wrong with George W committing taxpayers to a war in Iraq that has cost nearly $1 trillion; nearly enough to provide health care for all uninsured Americans, quality pre-kindergarten for every American child, solve the housing crisis once and for all, and make college affordable for every American student. The RIGHT claimed the Iraq War would have cost only $50 to $60 billion. In fact, George Bush's White House fired an economist who back in 2003 estimated the cost of the war at least $500 billion; they claimed claimed Iraq would be able to pay for the cost of reconstruction: it never happened. Obama has not given up practicing on Honduras, working on his techniques, to destabilize it and support a leftist thug if at all possible.
You got to hand it to him: he’s consistent.
What appeared at the outset to be a possible aberration has become a pattern. What initially seemed a surprise is a surprise no longer. Obama supported Zelaya not just because he is a fellow-leftist, but in order to stand for the principle that, once a person is elected, he’s allowed to do anything he wants.
Here’s the picture in Honduras, according to the intrepid Mary O’Grady, who has covered the story from the start for the WSJ and will not let it go:

Four months after a presidential election, reports from Honduras suggest the Obama administration remains obsessed with repairing its foreign-policy image by regaining the upper hand. The display of raw colonialist hubris is so pronounced that locals now refer to U.S. ambassador Hugo Llorens as “the proconsul.”
Washington’s bullying is two-pronged. First is a maniacal determination to punish those involved in removing Mr. Zelaya. Second is an attempt to force Honduras to allow Mr. Zelaya, who now lives in the Dominican Republic, to return without facing any repercussions for the illegal actions that provoked his removal. Both goals are damaging the bilateral relationship, polarizing the nation and raising the risk of a resurgence of political violence.
The U.S., as represented by Mr. Llorens, has been at the center of the Zelaya crisis all along. People familiar with events leading up to Mr. Zelaya’s arrest on June 28 say that had the U.S. ambassador not worked behind the scenes to block a congressional vote to remove the president a few days earlier, the dramatic deportation would never have happened.
The State Department denies this allegation. But numerous sources maintain that Mr. Llorens’ interference allowed Mr. Zelaya to push ahead with an unconstitutional referendum. Fearing he would use violence—as he had before—to trample the rule of law, the Supreme Court took action. Mr. Zelaya was arrested, shipped off to San José, and removed from power by a vote of Congress the same day.; March 29, 2010 at 5:39 PM

Some 48 hours later the party’s zelayistas and its Santos faction voted to remove Mr. Micheletti as party head. Rigoberto Espinal Irías, a legal adviser to the independent public prosecutor’s office, complained that the “meeting generated much bad feeling in Honduran civil society” because it was “perceived to have the purpose of intervening in Honduran national politics.”
Now more trouble is brewing: Salvadoran President Mauricio Funes, according to press reports, has said that Mr. Lobo made a promise, in front of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Mr. Funes, that Mr. Zelaya could return “without fear of political persecution.” Mr. Lobo subsequently announced that Mr. Zelaya is free to enter the country. In exchange, it is expected that foreign aid flows to Honduras will resume. But the minister of security maintains that if Mr. Zelaya returns he will be arrested.
All the newspapers in the United States should be covering this on their front pages. But they are not; and when they did cover the Honduras story they got it exactly (and purposely, I believe) wrong.
In this topsy-turvy world, the people of Honduras continue to resist the muscle of Chicago politics represented by the Obama administration (I am tempted to call it a “regime,” but I will desist for now).
