"Free-market capitalism and individual liberty is what made the US the great and wealthy country..."
Actually it was genocide of the natives, repression of labour, and endless imperial wars to grab resources of other peoples for its own gain. (see: "What is our oil doing under their sand?")

"...the great American congressman and statesman Ron Paul said recently ..."
What did he have to say about his racism? Did you get a chance to ask himabout it?

"Throughout history, only a truly free-market economy with individual freedoms has ever produced lasting peace and prosperity..."
What time-span do you understand to mean 'lasting'? When exactly has there ever been lasting peace and prosperity? So your statement cannot be true!

Clean up all the non-supported appeals to emotion, and make your case with just coherent facts!

I read this article and was a bit disheartened. It appears that every time a major crisis hits our island we somehow put the onus on the government to fix things and then we sing the same old song. To some extent the government of any country is responsible for its upkeep, but what we fail to realize is that we the people have a major responsibility to ourselves and our country. Aren't we responsible for the government? we elected it and we also have to make our demands reasonably. If the government does not perform to the good of the nation then we have the option of dismissing it. About the war on Saint Lucians, it may be a bitter pill for us to swallow but we are our own greatest enemies. Until Saint Lucians can unite for the common good of the nation and the country, then we ought not to expect the government to be of any use to us. Our problem is that we are too divided amongst ourselves and that is the reason why the governments have us held tight by our gonads! They do as they please and we willingly accept whatever they hand us. Until we can unitedly lift our voices loud enough for them to be heard then we have nothing to whine about. Actually, all the governments of the world have used the "divide and conquer" strategy to rule our various nations and we allow them to do so with impunity. Will Saint Lucians be an exception? Stop whining...stand up and make a difference!

St Lucians MUST make themselves an exception, otherwise we will be re-enslaved!!! Across the globe everyone is being enslaved by the huge powers of big business (banks, oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, etc.) in league with every countries' government - GLOBAL FASCISM has taken over. DON'T LAUGH: This is serious! This is real! Do your own research, and check it out for yourself before it's too late!

How do you think MOST politicians get their financial support? There exist carefully hidden organizations that send out scouts throughout the globe looking for fledgling corrupt politicians. They find them, groom them, and finance their rise to power: Saddam Hussein was one of the better-known cases in question, so was Idi Amin in Uganda, Pinochet in Chile, and most other dictators, politicians, and government officials.

The big plan is to return things to 'the good old days', i.e., by the solid establishment of an invincible ruling class at the very top while setting up the rest of us as a docile mass of un-and-mis-educated easy-to-control dummies - brainwashed and constrained by the media, advertising, drugs (legal and illegal), and totally dumbing-down education systems. For example, the recent airport-screening procedure demanded of travelers is so invasive that already most travelers are saying it feels just like a sexual molestation. But can they so anything about it? NO! Because if you do not allow the search to continue AND finish YOU WILL BE ARRESTED! THAT IS THE LAW!!
