Everybody know about epic. That man was a terror on the streets....killing an 8 year old girl??? smh

This is a shame what st.lucia has been reduced to by useless bandits. I am pleased this ended this way as the prisons are too full. No point wasting tax payers money to prosecute them justice has been served.

the more criminals that are killed the merrier St Lucia will be....great job by the police hope they keep it up

It is unfortunate that knowing the identity of the killer of the eight-year-old girl in La Clery the police were unable to acquire the necessary evidence to bring Epic to trial for that murder before he had the opportunity to victimize or kill other people.

That inability of the police to apprehend such known felons is a worrisome though. How many known murderers walk the streets with impunity, while the police are aware of their status as killers but unable to bring them to justice?
The ability of the police to collect evidence from crime scenes should be enhanced and given top priority.

This whole episode is a tragedy to all Saint Lucians.

Many, too many.

We now have a new forensic lab so evidence will be easier to collect and analyse within the OECS.

The Voice should learn not to keep using "The Voice has learned" at the start of every paragraph of a story.

you live by the gun, you shall surely, die by the gunnnnnnnnnnnn.

C'mon my people. These are extrajudicial killings. By the end of this year we bound to get a bad report from Amnesty International. I do not support criminal activities and hope that all criminals are brought to justice, but I think these guys were set up by someone - and the police took advantage of this set up. I don't think these guys were there to rob the restaurant. The pieces simply do not add up.

Mr. George, you should be more careful in the future with the choice of words. I do not believe that the 'slain' in the context of the police having to shoot someone in the course of doing their job -- if done correctly -- can be termed as a 'slaying'. The use of this word is very disturbing. To me there is a bit of gloating and a flippancy with the use of this word.

It is human to celebrate. But leave this to the ordinary reader to comment like this. It is not the place of the opinion maker that I think you are, to do this in the context of the story you are reporting on here.

The criminals walk the streets because the person who are on television saying there were respectable know what those guys are doing but keep their mouths shut. Nevertheless a job well done to our police and i cant thank you guys enough for making me feel safer in castries. I can walk with a 100 dollar bill pinned to my shirt in the city of castries and i dare them to touch me. Again job well done COPS and Mr Francois a special thanks to you. Teach ausbert how its done. The big headed useless moron.

The "he was a good boy" population seems to be depleting. YAY!!

To blogger #12 - re Amnesty International; as a tax payer, I'd rather have the "miscreants" terminated, than my hard earned tax dollars spent on them serving time in prison, for how long? - before their case is called, or keep being postponed. Then they jump the fence, back to terrorising innocent people!!

Amnesty International is already getting a bad rap for advocating "slap on the wrist" penalty to criminals - their credibility in that regard is waning. Why do you think hanging has been brought back to St Lucia??

Kudos to our police force where weeding out the bad guys is concerned.

It would be even BETTER, if our police force could take a further step and train "NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH" ideology to communities. For example, in La Clery, which USED TO BE a family oriented community - now wreaking with the stench of criminals!!

Parent please work with your children in the earlies so that we all can have a better caribbean and a better world.
let's do it the bible way.
Too many parents are burying their children because they fail to train them.

I applaud the Police Force for a job well done. A thief comes to steal and to kill and those who live by the gun must also die by the gun. It is just sad that soo many young persons have chosen to live their lives as criminals rather than honest law abiding citizens.

Let us get rid of those criminal elements and return St. Lucia to this peaceful and safe island that it once was.

Big up the police

Neither Amnesty International nor Human Rights lawyers understand the pain and suffering of others who work hard to achieve what they have achieved only to have their assets and often times their lives snatched from them in the process by lazy, callous and dispicable criminals.

The St. Lucia Police Force has finally risen to the occasion and the Police Officers along with their Chief must be commended in their efforts to replace Saint Lucia on the international scene as a criminal free island.

Well done!!! Some day I will be proud again to be called a Saint Lucian.

Everyone Knows that Epic was a criminal but that was a set up the guys never came to rob any place and knowing Epick there would be the last place he would think of Robbing. The police wanted him dead from the time he exposed them and when they were tOld that he killed the 8 year old which none of us know so I would say to St lucians stop making up stories!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

What were they doing with illegal weapon then? Cut the crap.

We cannot in the name of whatever allow criminals to take posession of our streets. It is not that I support police killings or any kind of killings but, the police is entrusted the task of maintaining law and order, and that they must do, otherwise they would not be earning their salary. If my tax money pay them, then they must appear to show interest in protecting me. Keep it up POLICE

That they were there shows their criminal intent. That is all that is needed to justify the actions taken. When those intent on committing a criminal act divulge the information and this falls into the hands of the police, then the police just have to be in place to record that the criminals were in the process of committing the stated criminal act and apprehend them or whatever.

Good riddance to very bad rubbish. Make better children.

Everyone has a right to self-defense once your life is in danger - even the police. What you are NOT allowed to do is to open fire when no weapons are being pointed at you. If robbers are threatening to kill law enforcement officers then by all means one expects them to defend themselves.

Having said that the police should use reasonable force. Shooting in the head will surely cause fatalities. Why not target the legs instead of the head? A lot of the police killings are unnneccessary. The firearms squad needs to be retrained again. They need to learn how to apprehend suspects without taking them out. After all the police is NOT above the law. They need to serve and protect without killing the citizens.

Because when you go on a gun range any where in the world they train to hit the part of the body with the most mass. Your head to waist area. You must have lots of aim to hit some body in they legs and if that person has a gun in their hands and they get shot in their legs they probably still wouldn't drop that weapon.

Those of us who are from the La Clery community know the crimes that these and so many of our other young men have committed all too well. And to that I say good riddance to bad garbage. They were set up? Well they took the bait. Ask yourselves, how many of these men had police records? How many times have they been arrested/jailed. And how many crimes have they committed that we have not been privy to. As someone who was attacked by criminals in an attempted robbery recently, I feel no sympathy for them, or the family and friends that are aware of their actions and do nothing to protect the innocent.

Malcolm makes little sense said...

@Malcolm would you wake up, your points could have been valid but are way too biased. I doubt you currently live in St. Lucia based on your comments....... if people decided to have a firefight with the police then the police have the right to defend themselves with the necessary force ... if it means killing the criminals so be it ...... would you feel better if a few policemen were shot while trying to hit non vital points??

JOB WELL DONE, KEEP IT UP. TAKE THEM FOOLS OUT. LETS GET ST LUCIA BACK.

Did you hear this man?
"Why not target the legs instead of the head? A lot of the police killings are unnneccessary. The firearms squad needs to be retrained again. They need to learn how to apprehend suspects without taking them out".

What you reap, is what u sow!!!!!!!
It was time somebody taught them a lesson!!!! Well done Police Commissioner, keep up the great work!!

I personally don't support criminal acts. So if the criminals want to play bad, let them play bad. God will deal with them.

LETS LEAVE IT IN HIS HANDS!!!

I second that....

The father said...

"O" yes it was him "epic" one of the two that came into my home and short my daughter,I scuffled with them there was light in the house, but because of the rag that covered their faces it would not stand in the courts. If there is someone that leave a few yards away from you and he covers his face would you not make him out? No one came forward, the time that they spent in the house people had time come out of their homes but who would come forward? If it was against the police their would. The other one who was in the house, the one that I fought with, his day will come. You can hide but the Lord is everywhere. The boys that died with "epic" they knew him and what he was doing, they help him in some cases, now died with. When will our children learn?
"Epic" through my sixteen year old daughter into the raver didn't want to go to court, and for that my sixteen year old lost her right arm and was disfigured,I lost my eight year old and her mother lost an eye.May God bless us all.

Anonymous said...

Dude sorry for all your pain. Epic, got what he deserved. And the others did too. You sleep with the dog, you come up with flees. You rip what you sow. The way you make your bed is the way you will lie in it. These fellas are criminals and in the execution of their criminal activity they died. Karma is a bitch. I had a cousin killed in 1993 in the Marchand boulevard and I think one year after one of the accomplices was found dead in the gardens. Those guys who perpetrate crimes on descent law abiding citizens will get justice one way or another. Jah na sleep. We think he does, but Jah na sleep. Nuff said.
