Yes. According to Guy Joseph u doh need no education as long as u can make money. Better than that, if u tief it legally from d treasury or u get it back in a construction deal. Now u talking.

Other than dat, if u make jail in d US man, dat does make u good to be the best pm ever.

St. Lucians sick, sick, sick. Once de stupid people elect u, u good to go. Then raise the airport tax in their u know what, 4 being so ignorant.

Bram Bram is MP and PM material. We have so many in government today. So why not me?

For the first time, nothing stops a Bram Bram from being Prime Minister. Stephenson King's appointment has made sure of that. Remember the newspaper headling what prevents a criminal from being Prime Minister of the Bruce Dwayne Tucker saga. Cabinet led by an idiot and convicted criminals. I thought we were supposed to be breaking glass ceilings. It just might be, we can't say we are not going where no one has gone before. St. Lucia is the new frontier

Haiti is St. Lucia's new benchmark. Way to go, downhill! Boy you brave enough to print Mr Edwards' half-baked ideas in your article. I thought you had more sense than that.

When I read the recommendations from Edwards I went huh? they must have English and Maths from a commonwealth college??

I really believe that the emphasis should be on their integrity and honesty... background checks should be done by an independent outside committee (possibly from an international or regional organization ). You see there are many St Lucians who may not have had a structured /organized education but have educated themselves through reading (home schooling?). These self taught individuals have become very successful business people...If we are to pursue any model we have to take into consideration the reality in St Lucia ...one size does not fit all when it comes to the fair Helen of the West

Thank you all for taking the time to read and comment on this article. You responses tell that in some measure you are in agreement with the point that I forward. Let me say that this article is not meant for attacking any one individual/s. The question is, "Is there a need to change the way we select/elect/appoint the persons who run the affairs of our country. Why? Why not? How?. Let us discuss the substance not the circumstance.

@ Anonymous #4. I respect the fact that Mr Edward can put his name to what he writes. I also hold a lot of respect for those who can tell me that the bread is half baked and can offer a fully baked one in its place or at the least, help finish cooking the half-baked one. St Lucians let us build not break!

Now that is constructive. You are thinking like me. In fact my next article will be along that thread. Recall I said that I do not agree with every point forwarded by Mr Edward. You are very correct. If we apply that criterion we will be locking out our Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Richard Bransons.
