What? NDM, LPM and ONE have no candidates?

Anonymous said...

That's right. I agree with them. Why worry about an election that promise to present to the same outcome to the people of St Lucia. Nothing is expected to change. Why bother.

You see and hear, UWP. Sunday there was no maiypwee, name calling, character assassination, innuendos and half truths, as being told by your Richard Frederick and Guy Joseph, etal.

wishing that st lucians come together and take back our country from these misfits and good for nothing missleaders of the uwp and bring in competent and decisive and visionary people to take st lucia back to its glory days.

You mean Rochameal, Cost over run, Helen Air, Amb Mansion in New York, Oil exploration in St Lucia, Over night millionaires for a few--were glory days?

Comon..what St Lucia needs to do is dump those who want to finish the job of enriching themselves.

Agree!

I am quite pleased with the cadre of leaders on the SLP side. We are in dire straits, and we require a government that can bear the pressures of the time with qualified and dignified leaders. I feel proud to see political leaders such as Alvina, Dr. Raymond, Dr. Lewis, Dr. Anthony, Phillip, Lorne, Musa, Emma , Pep and Stanley serving us.

It is my hope that we will see all of the above individuals along with Dr. Gail Rigobert and Janine in one party to lead St. Lucia to economic and social progress. The other five are still at large.

Anonymous said...

Up above, you are truly impressed by credentials; the title Dr doesn't make one a great leader. Some of the greatest leaders in history never went to university; it's either you have it or you don't.

Anonymous said...

Is this a passport photo or a mug shot of the latest Labour Party candidate? Either way, it's not flattering.

Anonymous said...

I did not want to be the first say it --but I thought so myself. LOL

On another notes: Alvina, Dr. Raymond Emma , Pep and Stanley won't be serving us anytime soon. I can bet my buttom last dollar all the above are going to lose.

to Anon #4 ... St Lucia had "glory days"? Where was I?

Anonymous said...

Because UWP put up a Barbie Doll for a candidate, must all other parties follow suit? Government is serious business?

Sorry! Sorry! I am so sorry! They are not running a government.

See that Daher Building? They are running a Ponzi scheme!

See that Daher Building? They are running a Ponzi scheme!

---------------------

I mean that they are running something like a Ponzi scheme. The people of St. Lucia through the government invested in that building. Today, this investment has all but turned into ether. It is worth a lot less than the purchase price.

The SLP might have had the Health Ministry to force the owners to bulldoze it, or bulldoze it at the owner's expense, but not buy it.

My fellow st lucians, Are you happy about st lucia now Once upon a time antigua, barbados,st kitts, dominica,st vincent, and other islands were taking note and being jelous of the progress of our island, Look at what st lucia is today a laughing stock.
We have a prime minister who does not have a high school and a c, Now you tell me what does this say about us as a nation, When st lucia has produce over the years Laureates in ECONOMICS< LITERATURE etc etc.
Isn't this time with the influx of communication,TV,RADIO,INTERNET,and so forth that our newsmedia should better Educate our people and stop coming back with the past tactic and believe they can win election,
The days when people live in black bottle is over, and st lucians needs to take the bull by the horn and don't let the news media like the star and others to repeat 2006.
I do Believe that the slp are the most effiicent group to help solve the vexing problems st lucia face now,
No Ndp No LPM We gamble on the uwp and look at what happen,
Can't afford to send little children to do big man job

ONLY LUCIANS SEEM TO GIVE CREDENCE TO DOCTORS AMERICANS DONT RESPECT THEM THAT MUCH AS THEY SEEE DOCTORATE HOLDERS AS NOTHING BUT CONSULTANTS.

----------------------

Where the heck do you think the ideas for the Republican/GOP agenda that go into US government legislation come from, idiot?

From PhD consultants from the right-wing Think Tanks from all across America. Some even DRAFT the legislation beforehand, for sitting presidents and advising several committees as was so common with George Bush.

What happened above there? You had one beer too many already?

Or are you always high on narcotics, that like so many young St. Lucians you are always in a state of mental fog? You can not think clearly, Uhn.

Perhaps, like they say, do you get your education from St. Lucia's top talk-show hosts on TV and on Radio? Do you lap up their 3D presentations with relish too?

If this is so,good for you! You sound like one of their very smart jackass listeners. Enjoy your 3D shows and UWP's daily doses of dander!

************************

But that's the truth. Phd's don't mean much in America. It's like feeding food to dogs.

Having a Phd does not mean that you are smart or better. I know tons of Phds in England and Austrilia who can't even put food on their table. The country really have no need for this persons. Why should we in St Lucia.

Anonymous said...

Havn't you'll heard that doctor politics is dead in St Lucia, and rightly so. LOL

Anonymous said...

Not all doctorates are created or born equal. I will grant you that. In the US, some are bought from the paper mills.

Granted too, is the fact that the last election reflected the collective will of the people. There is no doubt about that too. It cannot be taken away from them.

However, the replacement of educated for uneducated, illiterate, jail birds, US ex-convicts, a drug lord, conniving cabinet members some lying under oath, a deputy speaker running away from the police, an MP under-invoicing and suing his own government, an 80-year old with a foot in the grave as leader, and plain dumb MPs, still does not, in any way, shape or form alter the fact that it was a jackass smart thing for an electorate to do.

Anonymous said...

Oh, poor St. Lucia. Sad reality that St. Lucians see a need to be followers of the unwise, and simply do not place value on education. The research was on point about St. Lucia's illiteracy rate.

Lord help those bunch of illiterate, unwise bunch of corrupt and unthinking inepts.

Anonymous said...

Guys let's embrace the educated among us. PhD's MD's EdD's etc. We need those professionals who have served in capacities to inform policies around the world. Yes, the PhD's such as Drs. Raymond, Kenny Anthony and others.

Stop the jealous, deceptive and egoistical trips. St. Lucian is in dire straits. As such we need Doctors to remedy the economic, social and health situations of our people. The wise people NEED THE PhD's but the unwise can't see a need for such valuable human resource. Food for thought

Anonymous said...

Why should St Lucians follow the "wise", when in their private and personal lives they are all failures.

How many Phd's in St Lucia are millioniers? How many St Lucian Phd's own business or have accomplish so much that the poor should try to immulate them?

I can name you over 100 "not so wise and educated" St Lucians who have accomplish a better life than those who are trying to fly their Phd and education in our faces.

We must NEVER confuse crass materialism or the acquisition of things as superior to the acquisition of useful knowledge. In the context of St. Lucia, some people had a head-start. Some were the offspring of those who after indentured service were given land. They were so self-sufficient that they hardly had to come to town areas.

There were some who are the descendants emerging sometimes from the rape of black women, who were either house slaves or field hands their children being bequeathed the properties of plantation owners and the elite of that day.

But as is common some of these gave up on education. See? Some did not have the education to grow the businesses after the head-start of having land and collateral, or the commission agencies. The names are disappearing. Some have already gone into the history books, for example, Clinton Evans. Take an old picture of Castries and Bridge Street especially. The old 100 have long gone.

Not all those who made it did so honestly. The 1948 Castries fire burned out a lot of the evidence. The descendants of those benefiting from the operations of the borbolists, know themselves.

A PhD may know everything about a little bit. But that's sometimes what makes the difference.

It took just four educated Japanese after World War Two, to rise after the nuclear bombs were dropped, to make Japan rise to the number 2 economy in the world, after the US. The brand names from their brain power are with us today. Sony, Honda, etc

The clique that forms the government today, in this country does not have the potential to do much more than to beg for election projects to regain power, just to do the same thing over and over again. A hapless and trapped young population finds greater hope, income security and purchasing power in selling drugs.

Anonymous said...

Yeah right. Please don't continue to feed us more of your self-serving and boring dissertations in here.

The worlds has never revolved around Phd. Go and ask JQ Charles and Bill Gates.

Talk about Dander? You have been spreading a lot of your self-serving dissertations all over the place.

Anonymous said...

Spread your dander with relish. The your brain-dead idiots are waiting, mouths wide open.

Bill Gates did not employ illiterates nor semi-literates to run any parts of his company. Nor did he acquire the companies of illiterates, nor companies without some special knowledge or technology necessary to grow the Microsoft empire either.

Idiots are running and ruining the country in blissful ignorance.

Consider where one of your Guys would fit in the scheme of things? Would either of your two geniuses enable a company to grow to dominate its market or the world?

26, neither Guy Joseph, nor Guy what is his name again, Bruce Tucker, Stephenson King, the drug lord, Marcus Nickolas, nor [MAD] the Minister for Aviation Disagreement is a BILL GATES of any kind.

My fellow st lucians this society has change drastically, Thirty, fourty years ago life was different, Many st lucians went overseas to better ourself Whiles others stayed home were we still leave in the shadows of the past and only a few was able to enjoy it.
No tv in a lot of places[ meaning cable tv] No cell phone, No Internet and it was only available certain areas.
We have come from a long way, Blameit on comptom tthose thirty od years [with due respect to him] did not see Education was a necessity for st lucia in the future run Because the tactic was to keep people in ignorance.
Those who have gone away to Educate themseles abroad we should applaud them [Mostlikely they have come back to contribute to their country.
In todays society Education counts
Talking about America, Any st lucians that goes to the u s and wants a good paying job must have a good Education or else you have to settle for peanuts and kfc, wendys, macdonald, etc [meaning low paying jobs]
If we are bless with Persons of caliber in the line of Education. We should be proud of them,
In the Caribbean and the world Education counts
Don't forget St lucia Produces two Nobel Laureates in Literature and Economics and they went away and come back home.
So becareful The nonsence we write and talk about, Society has change, This world is different,This is an age of Tecnology and make the best of it by Educating ouselves.

I have enough common sense to know recognize the difference between not putting a proper system in place to reduce, not eliminate cost overruns. In the construction industry that is norm rather than an exception.

I can see the difference between this and the deliberate siphoning of tax-payers' money from the Treasury by a set of conniving cabinet colleagues to another member of that cabinet. Oh yes. I am not so stupid to gloss over the differences between these two issues. No! Never!

Anonymous said...

Yes 29, that is the difference between immature government and crooked government.

The UWP 'bad boys', political pirates, and political bandits are ransacking the town.

You got that one right! One behaviour describes financial blundering. The other? Financial PLUNDERING!

Anonymous said...

WOW! What at lot of nonsense you St Lucian bloggers write - no wonder your island is falling apart. Your stupidity is not only in your government, it's in all of you!
Shame on you!
Get some education and moral values THEN help save your nation!!

Anonymous said...

The Alvina haters and the haters of "educated people" ...your comments say more about who you are....

Anonymous said...

There is a difference in being a bookworm and being educated. being able to cram a book doesn't mean that you are educated. The most productive persons in the US are persons with bachelors and masters degrees and i agree with the person who said that the US dont give credence to DR. There are merely seen as consultants and not persons with vast experience in a particular field. I see political zealots misconstruing what the person was saying but he or she was right on the button.

Anonymous said...

I think the problem with those guys who have the perception that they are smarter than others, they will steal from us in a professional way because they are lawyers, doctors and we are not. Any man who uses his education to steal from the poor is as much of a buffoon as anyone else.

Anonymous said...

Yeah! Right! They don't give credence to people with doctorates in the US. Fool yourself and those who do not know any better.

Why is it that those universities that are the most difficult to enter at the undergraduate level or at the master's level, will NOT employ lecturers or instructors UNLESS these have a PhD or its equivalent, plus practical hands-on job experience?

You sound like some of our bonehead pro-UWP talk-show hosts, and our street smart PM. Shamelessly he ridicules people with doctorates as 'bush doctors' because he has not much to show for his time spent in secondary school.

A fish rots from its head. But just as the saying goes, 'There is something stinking in the state of Denmark, and it's not the fish'!

i cant believe that in this day and age, we actually have people who blog on the value of an educated mind....are we really serious. Education is not only about pass a course, and it is also about interaction with people from various walks of life. A university should and ought to be complusion for every living huma being. The human mind requires knowledge...from whatever aspects which drives it. We cannot function soley on innate adjustments. though it may be true that a PHD is not the best thing for a person(and i really hope that you are wrong)...the time and persistence it takes should account for the development of that human being. It is extremely sad that I actually hearing people say that we dont need phd or an education...wft!
If i may add....education was taken from africans as part of the punishment in slavery and today , after all the struggles of our ancestors...we are going to denounce it on the merit that our current PM does not have any higher form of education, yet he can function fully...rattid!!
Education...knowledege elevates the soul to its fullest powers and intelluct. It is with these intelluct, the soul/consciousness is able to create and recreate its existence and the existence of others and those to come. my mother never went to school, because of the shameful education systems when had in St.lucia while she was growing up...that you had to have had money to go to a school...and today, we are making illiteracy a norm in a country which will be open to other Caribbean countries in a few months OCES..and years..CSME. Countries which has offered free education to its citizens to the highest levels....and we making sport about educating our people and society....while the infunctional minds are asserting that there is a difference between a book worm and a educated mind....the point is some people dont even know how to open a book correctly ...!!!!!!!yet we are raising an uneducated spirit...wtf!!!!!!

I cry for my people--the masses, the media and others who see no need for PhD's in our midst. I cry for my people for their lack of intelligence and wisdom to know the difference between an educated vs a seemingly illiterate PM, and others in the UWP government.

I cry for parents who sacrifice all that they have to ensure that children get a good education...but what does a good education amount to in this third world country of ours...guess it is a high school degree.

It's time that you St.Lucians recognize the usefullness of your PhDs and MD's who decide to return to their home country to reduce on the brain drain that is zapping away your economic potential.

America and Canada will gladly embrace them, and compensate them with more money than you can ever pay them because those Global leaders (America & CA)know and understand the true value of an eduation.

But what you have here are political zombies and masses of unwise folks who see a need to spew ignorant and unintelligent phrases about their very own. I can't imagine how the educated folks, the middle and upper classes feel about how this country is being runned, and how the media and your leaders are downplaying the true of education.

Oh what a sad state of affairs on this small island called St. Lucia...some of you must be ashamed of what passes as true leadership when in truth it is corruption and incompetence to the highest rank. When will you people wake up and embrace integrity, competence, honor, respect and education of the highest level? That's your challenge people of St. Lucia.
