Yes, this is what it will take but first we need certain essential infrastructural basics to attract and sustain numerous new businesses; and these are the responsibility of good governance. For example, (1)the completion of the Hewanorra redevelopment project,(2)the completion of the Soufriere geothermal project for cheap and abundant electric energy, (3)the promised universities (UWI etc.) for training adequately educated leaders and entrepreneurs, etc., and (4)the promised North-South Tunnel-Freeway and other major highways.
If all these are built St Lucia will at last succeed!: much the same way Compton developed Rodney Bay and its environs 40 years ago and our north-west tourist-industry immediately flourished. However, is our new government or PM brave, imaginative, and knowledgeable enough to accomplish all these critical determinants?
