Micah, I expect nothing different from Mr. King. I think we should simply give him the guarantee of getting his pension so he can leave leadership matters in the hands of true leaders. Supporters of UWP need to see better leadership representation. Please stop showing the Frederick and King as the face of the party since it is really hurting the party bad, bad.

Awa Micah. YOu off track? You forget the amount of papishow Kenny uttered when he was in opposition? Where is he now. In power. King have the right and should continue talking tough./ I see no problem with this all politicians when they are in opposition are polluters of common sense. Go ask your buddy Kenny. He will tell you!!!

King's usual empty production is a constant source of amazement - to one and all!

He ignored, all the time, anything of substance that needs his input from the Prime Minister and the Labour Party, but if the issues showed the barest hint of nonsense, he (King) waded in with both fists.

Dear Lord. put a hand - intact two, for King, will you?

King is irrelevant and brings disrepute to the office, and as leader of the opposition party of St Lucia.

Where are the stalwarts of the UWP? Get rid of this buffoon. I am a strong supporter of the Labour Party, but we need a strong opposition leader to keep Kenny and his ministers in check...obviously, King is incapable of doing so, as he replies to any frivolous matters coming from the mouth of Kenny, but disregard real issues of substance. I have long concluded that Kenny is playing King as the fool that he, King, is.

UWP, awa, do something - Labour needs strong opposition.

Micah, you must practice what you preach. You are no better than what you have accused King. I doubt Labour will want you as a mouthpiece which is what you are trying to be....

Anonymous at 10.59 AM, you are off track buddy. Micah does not need to be a "mouthpiece" for the SLP. Micah works hard and decently for his bread, and the SLP has never put bread on Micah's table. I know the man. We grew up at Marchand together. He is above the bullshit you are trying to insinuate here. Now, Micah, I believe that you are being unfair to the Opposition Leader, when you ask him to take the fight to Kenny. King is unable to take the fight to anybody. He simply is not cut out to be a leader, or a fighter. His best talent is just to lime around the place in the company of unemployed losers, little boys in particular, who make no intellectual or serious political demands of him. There is a reason why so many people call Stephenson King, Stephny Queen. How can a man who was mortally afraid of his ministers (especially Escobar), when he was the Prime Minister, take the fight to anybody? Micah, King is just unqualified and incompetent, and that, according to Ausbert d'Auvergne, is "the bottom line." Rick Wayne has also told us that King, while he was PM, was "unfit to lead a troop of boy scouts." You mean to tell me Micah, that you never heard that Escobar used to just KALOT King on his head in Cabinet? If you think it's a joke, just ask King's sister, if you ever meet her drunk somewhere. King is an incompetent bum, and Escobar will soon take over. I don't trust Escobar, but at least he shows himself to be a brave man. So Micah, give King a break. In fact, you should write an article to show why he should resign immediately as Opposition Leader.

De UWP will be in the political wilderness for years.

If King is replaced by Fredericks and Frederick plane make emergency landing in Florida or any US territory, de authorities dere will gladly put 'im in a nice yellow jumpsuit and put shiny bling-bling on both 'im wrists and ankles.

UWP, de party of idiats, by idiats, and for idiats!

I do not think he needs to go that far before the FBI snatched the hell outta him.

When the time is right, they will get him, right here, on St Lucian soil...can't wait for this good-for-nothing rass-whole to go where he belongs - sitting in jail to scratch and smell.

If dat John Compton jackass messenger boy King knew better, by now 'e would be doing better.

See how much more crap will come from 'im before 'e leaves politics.

Simply put...we the UWP do not want King nor Frederick. These two men have hurt the party and continue to drag what's left of the UWP in Hell.

Micah, This is all biased hogwash.Don't you think your piece is premature? After all UWP has been in Opposition for only 6 months. For the first 3 years of UWP rule, we heard barely a peep from the Opposition, all of whom were busy repairing their personal finances. The Opposition came to life in the 12 to 18 months before elections. And if you are honest with yourself, you will remember the many times the Opposition talked tough but did not follow through. The most recent example was its threat to take legal action on the bills that were passed during that disputed House sitting in which the Opposition tried to discredit Speaker Husbands-Mathurin. The only thing I would give the SLP credit for was its action on the Tuxedo affair.

Say what you will but Kenny takes the high road.

He talks, at least talks like a statesman.

King, a real counoomoonou, that he is, has grown in age, but not with any semblance of interpersonal skills, and so not having the skills to be anything but a messenger boy, dem say law clerk, always finds a way to happily take the low road.

UWP, a party of idiats, by idiats and for idiats!

Always remember Micah is working for Fox News the Voice. Poor guy what else can he write, does he have a degree in journalism? I doubt it to write such utter rubbish, beats me.

Buffon above, attack the message, not the man!...and in what area of academic discipline you have a degree? Anyone with a semblance of academic intelligence would not wallow in the mud as you are now doing.

The problem in st Lucia is not the tit for tat between these two characters. The major issue is the echo chamber inhabited by the left wing liberal intellectual class the media and politicians who waste time on the interaction between these two failures. Kenny and Phillip have just continued the party political nepotism over the past 7 months and king wakes up every morning reacting to what is out there at the moment. What about unemployment or the national debt increased by over 1 billion by Phillip Pierre or the civil service bloat and inefficiency. I can bet that when I visit st Lucia again about after 2 years in the USA that nothing will have changes. When last did Micah last ask Kenny Phillip or any slP minister about grins erg? When can we start exploring for oil? How much interest do we have to pay on national debt for 2012?

Micah's simplistic analyses of St Lucia's politics is very troubling. His writing lacks depth and objectivity. He takes too many things at face value and makes little or no attempt to get to the bottom of things. Very rarely if at all, does he quote authorities on a subject. His suppositions in this article are truly ridiculous. For example, he says: the last elections proved that smart political parties get into office. But if this is meant to suggest that the UWP is not as smart as the SLP, how then does he explain the UWP's win in 2006? Then he argues rather lamely that Kenny is outsmarting King by extending to him an olive branch while King responds by threatening to withdraw his Party's support from all bipartisan initiatives. But Micah will remember that Kenny made the same threat as King during UWP rule. Besides that, Micah has yet to offer any objective yardstick for concluding that Kenny's strategy is smarter than King's. But as anonymous at 4:54 has pointed out, there really is little difference between King and Kenny when in and out of Government.

The Opposition is irrelevant in St. Lucia's political life, except at the time of elections.

People are too dumb to analyze anything for themselves. They are so uneducated about so many things that they simply vote for the party that they were born into.

With 20 percent of the population below the poverty line, hand-to-mouth arguments made with $100 dollar bills make for greater political argument and sense, than anything else in the country.

Of course all of this is very well supported by complete but semi-educated idiots on TV and on radio, masquerading as an elite. Such jackasses never cease to happily confuse more poverty-stricken jackasses. St. Lucia they say is idiot country!
