The pride of a parent

From Compton's Taiwan model to now Singapore. Following Compton? Are we getting a tad confused with the names or is it geography?

Eh, eh. Who would not want to have a family member as Prime Minister to bolster the family's business? Aiding and abetting the Tuxedo Villa Affair would be very small potatoes compared to writing major 'incentive' legislation supported by some of the same yes-men of the Tuxedo Villa affair fame. That landed in the lap of the OECS high court. Remember?

Saint Lucia is teeming with idiots, none with a moral or ethical compass.

Family rule, monopoly and political power!
It never ceases to amaze me. The more things change, the more they remain the same. Saint Lucia seems doomed – in a legacy of seven times British and seven times French! In a land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king!

Not too long ago the educated class tried to redeem a people from bondage and dependency but, alas, the remnants of the colonial past continually threaten to reclaim the enslavement of Saint Lucians. The sequence of events leading up to the UWP convention that witnessed Allen Chastanet hijacking the political leadership of the party speaks wonders.

A loser by all indications based on his record in government and business – a representation of the 1% that trickled the land with a sense of entitlement – a repository of the monopoly that witnessed the takeover of GL Foods by Consolidated Foods Limited (CFL), to control the supply chain and control the minds of the people, now seeking to take over the financial wellbeing of the people and return citizens yet aging to a period of family control of Saint Lucia.

What is most telling is that this is done with the help of men and women who expect to rise from their self inflicted house enslavement and the bondage of their mental state. This is appalling. While others that have served in government seek to rise out of the jaws of bankruptcy and unemployment through the promise of a job for the betrayal of the hand that lifted them from obscurity to the ray of light.

The results of the UWP convention is a reflection of a losers party with a political leader that must not be permitted to win an electoral seat in this country. This has to be priority number one. God is great! Now more that ever the results of the Taiwan’s funds will have to be answered! The use of the Soufriere Town Council funds to campaign in 2011 and the attempted return of family rule in Saint Lucia must be addressed.

The writing is on the wall. If these are not serious enough, then what is? If this is not the remaking of the élite environment, preparing a return of Saint Lucia to family and colonial control of the 17th and 18th century, then will the bright minds please explain?

I thought we had worn this battle through independence. But today this psychological battle continues with the help of political and economic acolytes seeking to protect their interest!

UWP started with a good sample with putting up competition for the leadership to vote.
SLP can take a lesson on this where the leader changing rules to keep him at his position.
We need alternatives to vote on when the leadership failing.

Nothing special about Allen Chastanet. There are many others like hin who have degrees in Business studies but they did not even get a job interview in St.Lucia because their father did not secure that job by having breakfast or lunch with the likes of Compton And the Sandals lackeys. We then left St.Lucia to the likes of corrupt Michael and progressed to more lucarative pastures in the UK an Canada. There will always be arse lickers of Bill Stewart to secure Jobs with Air Jamaica. Allen Chastanet is a failure until his father pays for the services. In the land of the blind the one eye man is king.It never ends...a carnival costume designer receives an honory doctorate for Economics fron his uncle Roy Augier at the University of the west Indies. What economics does Augier know? Nepotism and rubbish. Who is he better than at Economics. St.Lucia will always remail the little jackass of the world.

What bright student with an MBA on speech dealing with the future fails to mention his strategic direction? It raises serious questions about either, the quality of the curriculum, the quality of the student, the quality of the assessments, and the quality of the instructor teaching resources.

That was utter crap for a maiden speech.

Oh how lovely! Before this landmark success, the old fox did not ever see the need to boast of proud parenthood, with a well in place, furtive alliance and consolidation of business families. Oh no! Did you miss that?

But how nice! Now that the position of prime minister is all but sown up, the old fox finds it most convenient to declare proud parenthood. You see? Like Pavlov's dog, they are already salivating.

Riding high on the backs of all those idiots in the UWP, after all, a very close family member is now well-positioned to make it lawful to bring home the bacon ... not just some of it ... but all of it.

Saint Lucia, I tell you, is idiot country.

So correct, Anon.#..nothing to add to your logical blog.

Sadly, not many people analyse and or share the subject matter as you do; thus, they voted against their best interests.

"He who controls the foods, controls the people". Amen.

The UWP is behaving like courts where the miscreants are being tried, after the police, with care and very hard work produce water-tight cases, turn around and give those very same miscreants not even a slap on the wrist.

The entire UWP is without a moral compass. Up to now, nobody has been held accountable or even verbally reprimanded for an entire UWP cabinet giving illegal tax concessions to a cabinet colleague.

Saint Lucians note with horror too, how the new UWP leader so-called , without any reference to any misdeeds, bellowed his intention to follow John Compton. Are we to expect then, a continuation of the victimization of Anse La Raye and Canaries again, if this carbon copy of Compton ever becomes the prime minister of this country?
