Look like you just throw TIM under the bus! Are there any journalist left in this country who are not afraid of the SLP?

What happen to reaction of the international meadia? You mean the handful that has placed TIM under the bus are the only ones who understand "real journalislism". I hope that's not what you are saying.

How could what was said about Tim qualifies as throwing Tim under the bus. What type of twisted logic is this. Should not a government minister seek redress in a court of law if he or she is of the view that he or she has been wronged?

why should there be one law for journalist and other people and another law for the government minister?

Redress in a court of law is there for every citizen of this country including government ministers, journalists, vendors, etc.

it is this type of thinking as espoused by the above coward person who refuses to name himself or herself that keeps destroying this country.

Mr. George has said nothing that indicates in any way the guilt or innocence of either Tim or those who are taking him to court. I have read the article twice and i have found nothing to indicate that Tim was thrown under the bus.

In fact this is one of Mr. George' best ever written article. I find him brave to write a piece like that.

What about the other so-called journalists in this country what is it they have to say about Tim's case? All have remained quiet, all fear to mention it or put their thoughts on it in writing as Mr. George has done.

I challenge anyone to find something unbecoming, something wrong, something that should not have been said about the local media in this article.

To all those armchair critics whose idea of journalism is maybe how to spell the the word i say write critically not stupidly. It is no wonder the so-called critics refuse to show themselves because they know how stupid they sound.

I rather take Mr. George word about the local media than any one of those so-called critics who hide behind anonymity. They have never worked one day in a media house but are all quick to criticize.

And Mr. George is correct. All those who want to jump on Tim's side never once took the time to examine the situation and ask knowledgeable persons whether Tim reading and commenting about the article was the correct thing for him to do.

And what about international media? You think those persons who work in the international media are not sued?

The New York times and the Washington Post, two of the most serious newspapers in the U.S. have their sections where they identify errors in previous issues and make the corrections. Even apologizes. Yes they do apologize when they get it wrong and many times they to get it wrong.

International media? what international media house has commented on the Tim case? Tell me anonymous above. Media bodies or organizations overseas who push their own agendas are not part and parcel of everyday coverage of events in their respective jurisdictions. so do not identify those groups as international media. what overseas radio, television or newspaper that has examine Tim's case and decided that That Tim was correct to do what he did and that the Minister is just being vindictive? Please tell me.

Enough said.

terrence Louis,
Since you are so knowledgeable, why don't you use your self identified wisdom to tell us whether Tim was correct in reading the article on air.
In case you missed it,some persons have said that they will wait to find out what precisely Tim is being sued for before making comments in this regard.
Anyway, intelligent people do not make assumptions based on faulty premises.Read over your comments critically(use the higher level skills in Bloom's taxonomy)and you will identify a number of assumptions you made without rational basis.
With regards with you calling persons cowards for not putting in their names, please note that your name does not ring a bell. You are not a house hold name as you might like to think.GET BACK TO EARTH

The action against Tim achieved it's objective. They wanted Tim and others to shut up. So we may never ever know the truth. Also, now and in the future, all Media workers will become dummies...too afraid to report on what affects us or what we must know. The dark age is returning so Saint Lucians will be forced to remain and die in ignorance.

THat is so true. Most of our journaslist seem to have runned scared of the government. They will not even touch any criticism of the government with a six foot pole.

Micah,
why don't you practice what you preach?
Your writings do not meet the criteria you seem to be offering.
Please, lead by example if you can.

John Compton, that everyone in Saint Lucia thinks the Pope should make a saint is responsible for the perpetuation and reinforcement of the intimidation of press as led by our former colonial masters. Now lately, Saint Lucians find themselves saddled with yet another khaki-coloured idiot buffoon from the elite and damn-ass aristocracy again trying to muzzle the press in Saint Lucia.

For Christ's sake, for once put the god damn blame where it really belongs!

I am aware that following an article a couple of years ago in St. Lucia, a politician went into a media house and demanded the journalist be sacked, even though the article was based on what people were experiencing and not what the journalist 'thought'. Fortunately at that time the editor supported his staff. I have been involved in news situations in St. Lucia and have to say most appears to be 'cut and pasted' from regional or international news and for the most part not from real life or facts. I felt the media houses were 'scared' of being honest. Sadly in St Lucia honesty is a sin.

Not many people in this country, and the few could be counted on one hand, fully comprehend how frightening the implication of the best definition of journalism could be.

What exactly does the writer of this article trying to say in this sentence? Seems to me like he's the one who really needs to learn the art of journalism. I have a serious problem with people who make poor attempts at chastising others while positioning themselves to be better than anyone else. For the decades this idiot has been in the media, he surely comes across as way below amateur. And why does he always make it a point to say that no one else is doing this or that? This guy is just a pathetic excuse for a journalist.
